Scored with a nice shot on the edge of the box. Subbed off around 80 minutes. Another good performance.

The sky is falling

Get James Bond on the phone.

How did Kagawa play today? Heard he scored. Great, he'll be back straight to starting eleven against Palace. Hopefully we'll see him and Nani behind RVP and in front of Carrick - Fellaini dream combo. Too bad Rooney won't be fit.

We have been rotating players for the last decade and we have pretty close to the same squad as last season . We have the same ability to rotate players this season as we did last season.

Yes, but we don't have the "luxury" to do it as freely as we have done in the past. Simply because some of our squad players simply aren't good enough.

We rarely rotate freely though. Our rotation more often than not occurs because of stupid injuries setting us back.

Manchester United misfit Shinji Kagawa has voiced his frustration at being sidelined by new boss David Moyes.
Kagawa, who was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson last summer, has played just seven minutes for Moyes's United this term, coming off the bench in the Community Shield win over Wigan in August.
But after scoring a fine goal for Japan in Tuesday's 3-1 win over Ghana, the playmaker took the chance to admit he was disappointed by a peripheral role at Old Trafford.
"Please ask David Moyes why I'm not in the side," Kagawa, left out of the United squad beaten by Liverpool before the international break, told the AFP news agency.
"It is frustrating not playing but to score a goal like that gives me confidence. Hopefully I can take that back to my club with me and things will improve.
"It's hard not playing regularly. Some days the frustration is worse than others; it comes in waves.
"So it's nice to come back to Japan and get to play, and to score felt good.
"I just have to keep working hard and keep pushing for my chance. When I get back it will be a challenge to get into the team.
"When I get back to my club I have to wait for my chance in the Champions League and the Premier League. I'm sure my chance will come."http://www1.skysports.com/football/...strated-at-not-playing-much-under-david-moyes

It's more likely that he was asked why he's not in the side, and answered "You'll have to ask the manager". That's if the whole thing isn't fake.

Yeah they probably asked why he's not been playing and he said something like 'You'd need to speak to the manager about that'. The rest of the quotes are fair. You'd expect/hope for nothing less than frustration if you leave a player out. It might force him to raise his game a bit.

If a fit Kagawa doesn't get on the pitch but 40 year old Ryan Giggs starts AGAIN I will seriously start to lose my sh*t.

A half fit Kagawa offers us more - defensively and offensively - than Giggs at the moment AND he won't lose the ball 1 in every 3 passes.

If he had said that when SAF was still in charge he'd be in trouble, probably bollocks though

If he's indeed fit and not injured, I can see why he's frustrated.

It's not like he's acting like a prick since day 1, he has been sidelined and playing second to Rooney for much of last season.

And to think that he went here of all the places he can go, and rewarded with this... and it's not like he's having a dip of form, IIRC last season he always performs well (at least a 6) in most matches.

Imagine what is in his brain seeing a 40 years old Giggs in the wing and a useless Young ahead of him.

Shinji doesn't have the same leadership qualities as Giggsy. Our team is still trying to find its feet and I can understand why Moyes has chosen to opt for the likes of Giggs and Jones whenever they've been fit.

Kagawa's lack of balls is also why Rooney the nod in the centre, even though the former is equally talented and often in better form.

I think I'd probably like Kagawa's personality if I met him in real life, but reckon he'd benefit from being a bit more of a bastard on the pitch.

Leadership my ass

Rooney, Evra, Rvp, Carrick, Rio, Vidic are all captain material

Adding a giggs in there won't change a thing. It's not like half the team is kids and furthermore, Kagawa's been playing with us for a season, he knows what to expect in Anfield

This is where we got it wrong with Barcelona, playing 40 years old due to "Experience"

Well what the feck do we expect? We buy a marquee player from a superb Dortmund side, and then refuse to play him? He played only 26 games in all of last season, significantly less than Giggs (32), Valencia (39), Hernandez (36) and Welbeck (40). He's barely gotten a look-in since coming here, despite none of our other attacking options (RvP aside) setting the world alight, and so far this season it seems Moyes prefers people like Giggs and Young ahead of him. I'd be pretty pissed too.

I didn't have too many issues with Kagawa not playing so far because I understand the issues regarding pre season and all that. But he's had a couple of matches for Japan now, I'd assume he's not coming back late back in Manchester. Anything said from now on if he's not used will be an excuse.

Yeah, and it's a fair response if you ask me... as it is the managers choice that he's not in the side.

He's not exactly said he should definitely be playing or it's a disgrace or anything... just that it's the managers choice, and it's frustrating to not play (as you'd bloody hope it would be)... and that he hopes to get a chance when the Prem/CL starts back up.

Nothing wrong with any of that if you as me.

The team's character and pattern of play changes drastically whenever Giggs enters the pitch. It's true he gives the ball away more than most, but he also puts opposition teams on the back foot and raises the game of everyone around him. Out of your list of leaders, the only attacking player I'd agree with is Rooney (RVP is great but not exactly a manager-on-the-pitch type of presence).

I think Giggs is still the best galvanising presence in the team, but his legs mean he's not as effective as he used to be. Moyes evidently thinks the gamble is worth taking for a team he's still trying to make his mark on.

And let's not forget that Kagawa had the touch of an elephant during preseason. He still needs to earn his place in the team, despite being a Caf favourite.

What else was he meant to say? He's done nothing wrong and Moyes is seemingly the one with the problem. We've got a superb player on our hands but he is refusing to use him.

We have basically the same squad as last season which won the EPL, were the squad players good enough last season?

At the end of the day, the playing field is level for all manager

Do whatever you think is right, and if the result is right, you will be justified, and if it isn't you'll be crucified.

SAF would have been questioned the same thing if he has not won everything in the past and earned it. He just have a higher benefits of doubt ceiling compared to Moyes, but I do believe they're both will be measured by their achievement , and so far it's SAF 26 - Moyes 0

They happily sit back and let us have the ball, not because they fear a 40 years old Giggs (this is not a dig at him, but what more can we expect from a 40 years old leg)

Raises the game of everyone around him? I beg to differ, Leadership first and foremost should be able to perform on the field, only then leadership is a bonus. Keane doesn't start in Turin because he got a leadership skill, but because he's a skilled player that possess leadership skill, and as of today, I didn't see the skill in Giggs anymore (again, it's not his fault, nobody can fight ageing)

And let's not forget, 100% of the team that played in Anfield have won the title last year, and I believe some of them have won even more in their life time, they can handle pressure without needing a 40 years old Giggs to calm them (if they do need one, dear me)

There are different ways to provide leadership to a side. Giggs offers some of them. Kagawa offers fewer.

He was injured for 2 months.

SAF failed to utilise Kagawa effectively tbh, so it wouldn't be very fair to single out Moyes for harsh treatment for the very same.

It pains me to say it but perhaps Kagawa just isn't as good as we once thought he was. It's not uncommon for extremely promising young players to fail too make the grade at the top level.

I'm not saying that this must be the way of things with Shinji, just that it's a possibility we shouldn't ignore. I still have high hopes for him.

Like Pogba failed to make the grade.

Shhhhh, don't let things like that and the fact that Kagawa didn't play particularly well last year get in the way of a good rant.

Spare me the condescension.

He performed better than Valencia, Giggs and Welbeck IMO. Certainly not worse.

Coming in side from the left to score a good goal.

He better feature Saturday, or I'll.. be.. disappointed.

None of whom played a lot of games at No.10 though did they?

Also, I like being condescending. It gives me a feeling of superiority.
