Manchester City vs. Manchester United

We have a distinct lack of quality after our first XI.

Young and Valenica just arent good enough to start these kind of matches.

Why exactly did we give Nani a new contract then...

Because we want to keep him. There was little chance of him starting this game as he had hardly played previously this season.

Him and Hernandez will likely start in the Cup to get playing time, then it'll be taken from there.

We need to defend exceptionally well to give them a chance to counter though.

I doubt we'll be on the edge of our box, they'll probably edge the possession and I expect us to break quickly.

What's negative about it? Carrick-Fellaini proved to add good balance to our midfield against Bayer Leverkusen, Young has been in good form recently and Valencia seems to get played regardless by both Moyes and Fergie. He must know where the bodies are buried or something.

People keep saying this but why? He made a fine pass against Leverkusen and managed to con the ref into a penalty and a red card against Palace while being generally useless otherwise. He was awful at Anfield.

He hasn't been in good form, at all. Bringing up his performance at the Etihad last season would be a better argument.

He's hardly been frozen out though. In my opinion, he is being played as much as a 40 year old outfield player should be played in the Premier League.

Neither do I. I think he will play in the cup. His games are just being managed. I just don't think the poster you quoted was complaining.

Moyes: "RVP has a groin strain. We thought he would be OK but it is nothing serious. He has a chance to be back on Wednesday."

It's all upto Rooney to make this happen for us.

Welbeck is just back from an injury.
Young will not get past his man he just cuts inside.
Lets hope Valencia attacks his fullback.

Welbeck wouldn't be starting if his knee hadn't cleared up. Who did you want to start, exactly? Nani and Kagawa? The two who have barely featured and look rusty? There was fecking no way in hell that was going to happened today, especially since Young and Valencia have actually put in some of their better displays recently.

Relax, no one's complaining. Was just an observation. He's not even made the bench in our last 3 games. Big demotion after starting against Liverpool.

A fully deserved demotion. Full credit to Moyes for not persisting with him.

That was Fabio.
It was Fabio who played, not Rafael. Rafael's fit according to himself on Instagram now, but he hasn't played in a while. Smalling'll be in because of the height probably.
It was Fabio last week

Last week, whenever someone said fabio starts, people corrected and said "its rafael". Now when I said rafael started last week, you are saying it was fabio? feck these match day threads are weird.

That isn't a difficult task considering how poor they were prior

Anyways feck it, LET'S SMASH CITY!!!!

Negative he has got two wingers and two forwards away to City? Dress it up to suit yourself though! Going negative would have been to put Cleverley in for RVP and play 451-433!

Good post, I dont think it is a negative team.
RVP being out makes it harder to win, even more so with Kompany back for City but if Rooney can carry on his form from CL then we will be OK.

Was as definitely Fabio last week.

MUTV reported it as Rafael, but corrected themselves. All other broadcasters had Fabio starting.

Any update on Zaha? Not being negative, just asking why he's not played yet this season?

I agree, but then again the alternatives are Kagawa and Nani, who both looked very rusty in their previous outings and are really lacking in fitness. You'd never throw them in here, save them for later on in their game when their fitness isn't an issue.

It's safe to say our line-up against Liverpool will be sexy though! The likes of RVP, Januzaj, Nani, Kagawa, Rafael, Fabio etc.

Rafael fit and not playing?

"AliensMoyes"

Fergie's played Smalling over Rafael in these games a few times in the past. With Rafael not being on the bench, we'll most likely see him play in the Cup.
