Manchester City vs. Manchester United

People keep saying this but why? He made a fine pass against Leverkusen and managed to con the ref into a penalty and a red card against Palace while being generally useless otherwise. He was awful at Anfield.

He hasn't been in good form, at all. Bringing up his performance at the Etihad last season would be a better argument.

He hardly conned the ref for the penalty or red card for feck sake he's not my favourite but be fair it was a foul and red card followed as last man!

Valencia has had some good moments this season and at end of last season. Then he was excellent midweek. You along with many seem to be blind and have made up your mind that his form was never to return.

Nani has not been fit and obviously Moyes does not feel it would be right to start him in a game that will be very demanding. This is not an unusal managerial approach.
Missed the point. Valencia has been rubbish until the last game (IMO, yet we always persisted with him through his poor spell (which we don't know is over or not) yet with kagawa, he apparently needs to be playing fantastically to displace the mighty Valencia and young combo.

I'm wondering why nani isn't fit. Did moyes say he wasn't? He's been playing international games for Portugal. The guy should be fit by now.

Well isnt it lucky we have the ever popular Young to give him a hand. Not that anyone will appreciate that

Yeah that's obviously one of the reasons why he's starting. And lets be honest if we were as open down the left as we were against Leverkusen City would murder us. Safe but sensible from Moyes

I don't think it was a foul and there's no such rule as "last man". It would have been an obvious goalscoring opportunity though so the red card would have been deserved but I don't think it was a foul.

Hopefully he'll do his job helping out Evra in defence. If we can nick one on the break even better but I'd take a bore draw right now.

Young conned the ref to win the penalty against Palace ?
That's some RAWK style perspective.
Your negativity towards United knows no bounds.

I think well do okay actually. Rooney and welbeck should hurt them. I expect the wide players to do fine. I just find us so boring to watch when those two wingers play.

Is januzaj on the bench?

Hernandez doesn't merit the start before Danny, Smalling did well during the week those two wingers also are the common sense choice. You'd start Nani and Kagawa at this moment or AJ or Zaha?
I'd start any of our wingers over young apart from zaha to be honest. Even januzaj. He's shown despite his age that he's a much more intelligent player and provides way more creativity. Don't even have to say anything with respect to nani or kagawa. Both are twice the players that young could ever hope to be. Hope he does well, but he's just a frustrating player who lacks creativity and that team has no creativity at all apart from Rooney.
If it was up to me I'd pick the same lineup pretty much, but nani over young and Fabio over smalling if he's fit. Hernandez is also much more likely to get a goal rather then welbeck who isn't quite a goalscorer as we all know.

Nope but that's understandable with Nani back

Pelligrini is much more likeable than Mancini.

He did not con the ref, he was fouled and it was outside the area, the ref made a mistake.

OK, I don't want to argue about that: the point is, saying he's in good form is a massive overstatement. Moyes could have had Hernández playing ahead of Rooney with Welbeck out wide or he could have started Nani. Giving the nod to Young who was utterly awful at Anfield is a concern. As I said, it looks like we've come for the draw and accepted that we'll be on the back foot for most of the game.

Yup. Seems like a nice guy, and is very intelligent as well. City have quite a few players who are pretty likeable actually. Nowhere near to a team like Liverpool who's team is pretty easy to hate.

Draw would be a good result no doubt but I think we can afford to go for it. Considering our fixture list at start of the season we are in a very healthy position league wise right now.

Rooney on penalties today then.

good point. will he be the first choice after RVP? Does fellaini take PKs? I miss Baines!! hehe.
Navas is yet get past a player after having signed for city. He has a good chance of doing today, with Evra's weakness at defending against willing dribblers.

All fair points, I am not Young's biggest fan.

My biggest concern today is this is rio's 3 game in a week, he hasnt exactly looked solid. I fear Aguero could make us pay.

I had hoped Evans would start, but then again he is another with very little football.

Moyes doesnt chop and change as much as Fergie

The starting line-up suggests we have no intention of going for it though.

Even if we lose, we'll be okay as all of our rivals have dropped points already.

I don't disagree but right now with form fitness etc its Young and Valencia for me with Rooney and Danny. Young annoys me no end but he is capable and not the game for AJ IMHO.

Yeah, playing 2 strikers, looking for the draw.

Has to be Wayne when you look at who else starts. Hernandez, Nani or Giggs may have got a look in if they were on the pitch.
