Thank you, gollum.

Well this post doesn't have any chance at all of being dug up later.

Carragher: The players around him aren't good enough

 nice dig at all those players except Coutinho and Sturridge

What if yur all reading it wrong and it's a midfield of Kagawa and Jones?

Calm down, it is the two worst pairings we've had on paper. Therefore, it can't be outrageous to compare the two.

No it isn't, Jesus fecking Christ. Jones is an accomplished defensive midfielder who routinely plays there for club and country, and Ryan Giggs has been, in the past, a very good CM. I'm not exactly thrilled to see the pairing now (Giggs isn't up to much there any more) but Rafael and Park were both midget wide players, there's no comparison to be made whatsoever.

RedCafe's meltdown olympics are getting obscene.

Even when people got what they wanted with Kagawa and Nani playing they're still not happy.

We're worried that the spectacularly baffling central midfield pairing will result in a shite performance and thus Nani and Kagawa will have to wait until Christmas to get another chance while Young is falling over his own feet on the pitch.

Also noticed, still no Fabio. I'd prefer him over Buttner any day. Ah well, decent line-up to get some people game time and I think it'll be a good match.

Mainly cos in our weakest area of the pitch we're set up with two players out of position who couldn't be any more wrong for each other as a partnership, along with the fact they've both shown to be inadequate central midfielders in recent time but whatever we all knew it was coming really.

Who do you want to start though?

Fellaini is cuptied and Carrick needs a rest sometimes.

True but Carrick didn't play for England so should be fitter than say Gerrard and with Fellaini now able to help defend in the middle there's someone else who can cover for Carrick and give him a rest in an easier game. The annoying thing today is that we're playing too players who have been questionable in the middle today and when you're trying to get players like Nani back in form you need to ensure the base is sold. Plus we have players in Clev/Ando who are actual midfielders that should be fully fit, one of them should be starting first.

Jesus some of you guys are special.

Giggs will be fresh and will have a great game IMO. Rafael, Rooney, Kagawa, Hernandez and Nani all starting and there's still people maoning ffs.

Yeah, it's got nothing on Rafael-Park but calling Jones an accomplished defensive midfielder is taking it way too far. He's about as good in the position as O'Shea was. A half-decent emergency option but nothing more than that.

Its like SAF is still picking the lineups :p . I used to be left frustrated by the line up then and nothing has changed. Hopefully we will continue like then as well.

Err, I must have been women's football.

To be fair it's a good line up apart from the black hole in midfield. The front four will be interesting, assuming the ball gets to them at some point. Good to see Evans and Smalling play at CB too. Plus it's a shit competition anyway, so feck it.

Pointless having all that attacking threat if you don't have a functional midfield.

Again, a CM pairing of Jones and Giggs. I don't understand how anyone could expect us not to at least have a laugh about this. Of course everyone's hoping for the best, this is just pre-match fun.

this on anything else or just sky?

Delighted Rafa is back and Evans, Hernandez & Nani are playing. Horrified that cm is Giggs and Jones. Worried Buttner starts. Hope we get to see Zaha, Fabio and Januzaj as subs.

Just look at it this way, if Liverpool can't obliterate that midfield pairing with their strongest available XI then the laughs will be momentous.

I'm happy Nani and Kagawa start and I'm doubly happy that Rafael is back. Would have loved Jones and Smalling at CB together and it's a shame a youngster doesn't start. I expect Kagawa to be part of a CM trio.

Another horrible team selection.
I thought things would improve after SAF left but it seems he still chooses the team for David Moyes. Giggs in the CM?? another opportunity for Liverpool fans to claim Lucas always pisses on our midfield. Can Ryan Giggs just retire?

Oh yh def not the worst we've at all. But still annoying, hopefully they'll defy expectations but I can't see it. Both have played well there next to other players who actually know the role and can cover for them. Both have also probably had as many questionable games there as they have had good games, well maybe not Giggs but in recent years its been a bit hit and miss. Additionally we have 3 other midfielders who actually play that role, fully fit and available. Surely these two are our 5 and 6th choice midfielders.

Its a good lineup. We are given the above much needed game time along with Evans and Smalling.

Liverpool are playing their best 11 available. We have much more important games than this coming up. Liverpool dont even have the Europa league to worry about.

I predict a 2-0 United win.

How is Jones an accomplished defensive midfielder ?

It's a bit weird we aren't playing our midfielders in midfield. Oh well, let's see what happens.

Said it before but it's sad that it's gotten to this stage with him. Take a tip from Neville, Giggs.

Hopefully this will end Giggsy's terrible run of form. Which started just after the CL semi-final against Chelsea, 2 years ago.
