He looked like a pub footballer tonight. He's just not good enough to play at the top level of CL.

When I watch him, he reminds me of when you're on FIFA and have lots of spare money, so you go out and buy a fairly average big man with no pace for a laugh that just looks incredibly out of place in your team. I want to give the guy time and I want to like him, but the problem is that all the cliches that were said about him before he came by his detractors are exactly what he's fallen short of so far. I wasn't confident and said I would give him time, but the signs don't look good at all.

His first 2 appearances he looked fine.

The thing is even "looking fine" coming on for the last 30 minutes against Crystal Palace is a long fecking way from what we're expecting from a £27 million footballer.

He's poorer than Tom Cleverley when partnering Carrick.

Important we remain patient. He looked nervous, and has done since the city game.

He will need games to settle into the side and he will improve.

Tonight he had horrible night though. Nothing went his way apart from the assist.

Fellaini is an experienced an international, he shouldn't be nervous, all i will say is we will see whether if he improves over the next few weeks.

More than not showing much to convince so far, he's so infuriating when he just ambles back when the team gets caught out further up the pitch.

The problem is, his nervousness can't account for the fact he's unbelievably slow and immobile.

Not sure how the Glazers will trust Moyes with their money for the next transfer move based on Felliani's performances so far. Plus the fact that most people try and buy cheaper but not in Felliani's case.

Makes Bebe seem like a snip now at 8 million squids.

£20 million for Baines here we come

So far he's more useful in and around the box than anywhere else on the pitch. As I feared. Maybe he'll improve, new team and all that.

Not his fault the people who took care of his signing were clueless.

Even at £15 million he would be overpriced IMO.

At £10 million he'd be a decent plan B for when we need to chuck it in the box - I.E. almost never if we're doing our job.

I hate how if you say something negative in the match day thread you are some kind of demon. So far he has been nothing short of awful, he doesn't fit in with how we play and doesn't have the quality to play in Europe... Convinced he will be our Andy Carroll, our Torres. Probably worse though considering we paid 27mil and he's worth about 15

Not only are you extremely negative, you clearly have no idea how to do math or understand value. If he is worth 15 m and we paid 27m, there is no way (considering the fees) he could be worse.

Jog on though. Keep spouting shit.

What concerns me about Fellaini is how far forward Moyes chose to play him. In the second half, especially, Fellaini was effectively playing off the front behind Van Persie.

I was against the signing but once it was made hoped he would employed as a defensive midfielder and slowly grow into a more composed and commanding physical presence, slowly and over time. But Moyes is using him further forward and his all around game simply isn't suited to that in our set up.

Does Moyes not trust Fellaini's tactical awareness, positioning or mobility enough to use him next to Carrick? Who knows? What I do know is Fellaini will want to forget tonight. He gave away possession more cheaply than poundland.

Aside from his first 6 passes on his debut, he has shown feck all. My sincere apologies for all those who said he would be a waste of money, because I was singing his praise before he signed - turns out he clearly is not up to the task. MY be early days but he is looking like another wank purchase.

I feel sorry for him actually. He has been thrown into the deep end by Moyes a bit. You needed someone like him so the team was more solid within the CL but you haven't given him time to 'bed in' so to say. If you coughed the money up earlier he would be looking better as he'd have a lot more game-time and have it in some of the easier games. He should have played against WBA instead of tonight.

Grabbed the assist but he was shit tonight. Would love to know his stats on the ball. He seemed to lose the ball every time he was on it.

He had a better pass success rate than Cleverley, but he was obviously giving it away in other ways.

I don't think he would be overpriced for that fee at the time anyway considering his achievements in the league, the fact that he is a full international starter for his national team. These elements added will inflate a player's price.

He looked decent against Leverkusen when afforded time and space.

This was a disastrous performance though. He looked like a bad footballer, quite simply.

Uh oh, when Sultan turns on a new signing you really know he's shite.

Yeah he best improve and improve fast, because he doesn't have the "new to the league" excuse.

I hope it works out because that amount of money for a "squadie" is a bit much.

He makes me wish I was getting raped by a disease-ridden camel just so that I don't have to watch him play for us. Seeing him in a United shirt is like seeing a disease-ridden camel raping me in a United shirt.

He's spot on though.

He's just not mobile enough, he's always slowly and clumsily moving towards where he's supposed to be, always too late - and on the ball he's incredibly wasteful. Bad touch and slow on the ball.

This.

I commented that he looks slow and immobile pretty much after his first game.

He's not really a definite starter for Belgium. Dembele and Witsel both play more and with good reason I guess.

I hate the fact that he was furthest up top near RvP.

He's an improvement to the squad but he's no more than a £10m player which says a lot for our central midfield options.

Will get better but has never been Manchester United class, that's not going to change.

Also shows that "steel" means feck all if you're not good enough, it was never a good enough reason to sign him, despite what so many here thought.

When I reference price as a negative I'm taking into account his release clause was 23mil... So yes it is a worse signing.
I hope proves the doubters wrong an makes me look like a fool but I honestly can't see him being a success here. I may be overly negative with him but other are overly positive, looking at him rose it tied specs.
