I've never understood all the Fellaini-hate - people have been begging for a midfielder for ages and now we got one and everyone still moans
give him a chance FFS
I do get it.
People have been crying for someone who would improve us, not a midfielder who is hardly if at all better than what have already.
Of course he is better - you will see.
I can understand that some are not convinced about his signing (they will be proven wrong), but people saying they are happy he is injured is pathetic
how is he better?
his stats are skewed as he played no 10 role for Everton.
You think Anderson is better than Fellaini?
Im confident that he will prove his doubters wrong just wait and see
He is better than them but he's not played like it so far.
Anderson is at least on par with Fellaini as part of a midfield partnership with Carrick. Neither of them are top central midfielders. Fellaini played his best football as a no10 target man at Everton. There is no spot in our team for such a player, unfortunately for him. I dont blame Fellaini, hes been bought by the biggest club in England - ofc he signs and now hes doing his best.
When a player who is quite different to the kind people wanted, who we've paid way more for than he'd worth, who is often thought of as a "lump", starts poorly as he has, it's going to get a bad reaction. So what?
He is clearly a better player than Cleverley and Anderson are, I can't understand how anyone wouldn't be able to see that. it's like people have built up some irrational hatred and dislike for him because he is the resulting outcome of our miserable failed summer in the transfer market, overpriced, not world class, not a creator, etc, when he is still a very good player who will in the long run adapt to become a good player for us. I get the feeling people hold a grudge against him purely for the sake of doing so.
I mean fecking hell, at least he's a midfielder.

How can you come to this conclusion? Anderson has had six years alongside Carrick and has still never managed to form a good partnership with him, Fellaini has been here just over a month and has started 2-3 times with Carrick so far, what exactly do you expect from him, that him and Carrick are spontaneously going to forge some mythical bond?
Has he really started that poorly though? Our whole team has been poor, he's been in and out, used out of position, hasn't had a pre-season with us, was signed on the 11th hour, and now has an injury.
He's been here a month!
Anderson has never been given prolonged runs alongside Carrick either. Im not saying Anderson is good, just that there is no reason to believe, from Fellaini's attributes as a player, that he will create a better partnership alongside Carrick than the Carrick-Anderson partnership. In any case, Carrick - Cleverley is the obvious partnership because Cleverley is actually a midfielder and not a target man AM who for some reason people think is a good DM because he is big and fouls a lot.
He's been quite poor. I know he's only been here a month but the knives were out as soon as he signed for us. And the fact that he's met those descriptions of him has only furthered the cause of putting him down.Has he really started that poorly though? I think, actually, people think he's a DM because he ... is a DM.
Anderson has been given way, way, way more chances than Fellaini alongside Carrick, like I said, he's been here a month.
Thiago impressed straight away for Bayern. Özil the same for Arsenal. Isco for Real Madrid and so on.... Big money players you expect to show at least a bit of why you payed so much for them. He hasnt though.

As for me personally, I'm very confused as to how good he is. I thought he'd be a pretty good signing but I do have my doubts over his technical abilities.
Has Bale for Madrid? Has Illamarendi? Did Modric last year? Has Willian?
Some players struggle at the start more than others. It happens. And anyway, the three you've mentioned are all world-class (or will be), nobody is claiming Fellaini will be a world-class footballer so it's hardly fair to mention them. Just another example of his price tag (which isn't his fault) clouding peoples judgement of him as a footballer. If you were expecting an Isco or an Ozil then no wonder you're talking so poorly of him.

Well that's because Bale just isnt all that and all knew that. Di Maria is a better player than him and Madrid were crazy to spend that much money. But he has all the skills to still improve every aspect of his game. Also Willian just isnt that good anyway. Modric was pretty good. He got treated unfairly imo. Whenever I watched Real he was one of their better players.
Fellaini isnt new to the league, he is no raw talent that still needs to progress. He is pretty much the finished article.
I didnt expect him to be as good as Isco or Özil. He pretty much fullfilled my expectation as beeing just not all that good and spending 27 millions on him beeing crazy.
I'm not judging him as a united player already. It's way too early. But if I think all the times I've seen him, I still find him a hard footballer to judge. And usually I'm able to make up my mind pretty quickly. It's been a month amol, you should have more sense than to judge whether he can make it here after one month, with no pre-season.
I didn't particularly give a feck if we signed him either but we have and I'm not going to write him off so early on especially when he's barely had a chance yet.
