If you can be arsed, check out some of the matchday comments and you'll see that many hold the same view. As soon as Fellaini was subbed, Donetsk's attacks became more frequent and intense. He did a pretty god job stifling any progress they tried to make from deep.
I think that was more to do with Giggs coming on than Fellaini coming off.
Cina. I have to agree with Moriarty a touch more, though.I made the comment earlier that I dont think it is coincidence that we conceeded after he went off - although perhaps if we had bought on Jones rather than Giggs it could have been a different story.
it's true to an extent though, if Jones came on, and not Giggs, we'd have been far more secure I reckon.
Aye. It's also - to a very large extent - prejudice pure and simple. And by that I don't mean he will become the next Keano - or even that he will be a success for us at all. But it's prejudice in the sense that many have - clearly - already judged the man and found him too light.
It's obviously premature. And to positively relish that he will now be out for weeks, given our well known CM situation, is peculiar to say the very least.

Yeah, I'm by no means Fellaini's biggest fan but for anyone to actually be glad that he's not available for us, given how few actual midfielders we have, is certainly very strange.
Reading some comments writing off our new signing without giving him a chance, some even being happy with his injury, makes me want to vomit. Disgraceful stuff.
Alot of people on United facebook page thanking him for being injured and hoping him for being injured for the remainder of the season. Saying he and Moyes can feck back off to Everton.
Its beyond sad to read such comments, and makes me sick to my stomach reading such absolute crap from our fans.
And these will be the same people who'll get to enjoy his performances if he settles into our midfield. Same thing had happened with De Gea too. Bunch of retards.
To be fair, most fans just use the FB page for entertainment value. I doubt most of the people there can read or write, let alone understand football.
It's my personal favourite bit of caf-patented reasoning. If we beat a team, they can't be any good. The way people were going on after the CoC match about us finally beating a good team, as if the seventh-best team in England are better than the third-best team in Germany, ffs. It was pretty clearly our best in Europe since we did Chelsea in 2011, on Moyes' CL debut too. And Fellaini was a big part of that, in one of the three starts he's made for the club.
It's weird how keen people are to write him off, and I say this as someone who was opposed to us signing him.
Not sure where the entertainment lies, but yes - you have a point. They seem particularly stupid, even for the Internet. I've checked out that page three or four times. Each time it has been littered with comments from people who either take the piss (though not in a particularly witty fashion), are more than commonly dim and/or remarkably incapable of expressing themselves fluently. I suppose it's unthinkable in this day and age to just shut the feckin' circus down - but that's what they should do.
I meant that most educated fans laugh at the FB page. I think there is even a thread on it in the footy/general forum. I would be happy to shut down FB, but I think you may be hunted down by angry teens if it does happen!
Not glad he's injured, but not disappointed he isn't available for a while either. I would rather see Jones in CM for the games we need a more defensive presence there.
Hehe, yeah - angry teens and the likes of my mum! It's the "arena" of people who have, quite literally, nothing better to do.
Phil Jones, whilst being the greatest human ever, is not a centrocampista. Given Ando's lackluster performance last, I'll grant you Phil might be knocking on the door for the 4th spot, but he is clearly not a better option there than Fellaini. Cleverley and Fellaini are by far our best options in the role as Carrick's sidekick at the moment.

Cleverley is clearly out on his own as the best partner we have for Carrick. Fellaini should be after Jones and even Anderson in the pecking order. I'm not a massive fan of Jones in CM but I'd rather Jones in our midfield than Fellaini any day.
You just knew he'd be fit after this load of bollocks about celebrating his injury. He can probably get away with some strapping at the moment and give it another fortnight before deciding whether to have the surgery.
That's not advisable at the moment. Not in my opinion.

What the actual feck? Belgium have already qualified I think, and assuming that the recovery time will be the same whether he has the surgery now or after 2 weeks, surely it makes more sense to have it now than missing two more weeks of competitive football for United. Makes no sense.

Your acting like the first time I ever saw Fellaini play was when he joined us.
I said in his thread in the transfer forum in the summer before we got him that I would rather play our current CMs than get him.
And you have only seen him play with Carrick 2-3 times. It is clear none of our current CMs complement him, so it is bizarre that you don't want to try Fellaini. It doesn't look the best combo - but if we don't try it, we will never know!
I've explained my opinion a lot in both this and the Cleverely vs Fellaini thread.
That is plain wrong. He got nominated for POTY last year for the first time in his career. Who was his partner? Cleverley. I'm not saying that that's the sole reason for his upturn in form, but don't tell me Cleverley doesn't complement Carrick. They're a great partnership.
I watched him play in EPL for few seasons. The idea that immobile player can partner immobile player for the benefit.of.the.team is pure idiocy.

Carrick isn't especially immobile. Add that to his positioning, and it isn't crazy to try the idea.
