Expecting us to make this another though game. Kagawa needs to play centrally, don't think he will. Would love to see Januzaj, Nani and Shinji behind Rooney, but don't see Moyes opting for such offence.

Give Van Persie some proper time to get his toes healed up so we can have him fully fit and not playing with little injuries. Meanwhile we can have that 3 playing behind Rooney, who I feel would really thrive playing in front of them :drool:​
Hope Cleverley is fit as well, as he would compliment that team so much better then anyone else we have there. Evans and Jones were good again today I thought, so both deserve to keep their partnership.​

The team you're expecting is much more attack minded then the one you want.. Just saying.
 
I think that Fellaini will eventually prove to be a decent signing, but I can't bring myself to put him in my predicted team. We played such quick, sizzling football tonight and I just can't see him being part of that. I really hope that Cleverly is available.

If RVP is fit then him upfront with Rooney and Kagawa behind him interchanging from the left.
Kagawa was excellent tonight and should start. He grew in confidence as the game went on and with more playing time it will only benefit him.
 
I think RvP should be on the bench at most, no need to rush him.

Would love to see Kagawa get some game time after last night but I think Adnan deserves another start and Kagawa can play a full 90 in the league Cup in his favoured role. If Januzaj could work off the right then I'd be happy starting Kagawa. Very difficult to get all of the attacking players in this team due to the emergency of Januzaj.

Hopefully a convincing win and the start of a long run in the league.
 
We'd probably need to freshen things up slightly considering the intensity and pace at which we played against Sociedad.

My worry would be over Evra. He was up and down constantly against Sociadad and at his age he would tire. But who else can we put in against a physical stoke team?

We're at home, stoke was never a good team away from home. They're physicality isn't something to be worried about unless you're actually playing in stoke. Anyway, I think Fabio would be fine there, and also Rafael on the right obviously. I thought he's shown by now that he's by far our best right back and one of the first names on the team sheet? He might not be the tallest of lads but he's very strong and has a great leap on him.
 
Let RvP properly get over his groin/toe injuries instead of rushing him back repeatedly and as a result him having recurring little niggly injuries constantly throughout the season.

Stoke are struggling with the change of style but at the moment have retained the defensive solidity that Pulis used to have. Hughes recently brought in Ireland, Arnatovic and Assaidi(started to start and get sub apps) and the likes of Walters, Crouch and Jones have all been struggling this season. They have scored 4 goals in the league and had used four different strikers this season as the one. They have not been creating a lot of chances and were very fortunate to not lose to WBA. If we play like we did against Southampton or Real Sociedad we should win this game unless Stoke suddenly just click.
 
VP's had his rest, so should be back for this one.

Hopefully this game will be the one him and Rooney ignite in, and we don#t have to face uncomfortable questions of having to drop one of them.

This please. With Adnan and possibly Chicharito coming in the second half. Also, would like to see Fabio starting in place of Evra.
 
This really is a must win game here, if ever there was one. We are 4 points behind the team above us so if we lose we are cut adrift & pretty much confirmed in mid table at this stage of the season.

This is nice, but I don't think there's a chance that RVP won't start, unless he's injured. He's still scoring goals, so I don't see a major reason to drop him.
 
Fellaini will be starting for sure. Not playing last night shows that he wants his presence against Stoke and rightly so.

I really hope this game can kick start him. He has played like a scarred kitten with us so far. I hope Stoke get into him and just piss him off and maybe that's what he needs to find that streak he has.

Not holding too many hopes but I think it's pretty straight forward that he will be in from the start.

Yep, agree with everything here. Particularly keen that Evans-Jones starts. There's nothing worse than rotating your CBs after a good performance

I actually wouldn't mind Fellaini for this game if Moyes goes that way, provided he selects your suggested front four. The Southampton game could really have used Cleverley, but Fellaini might be useful against the inevitable tide of route one football and dirty midfielders that Stoke will bring. Although ideally I'd prefer us to pick Cleverley and try and completely dominate the match with our superior passing game. After all, if Carrick was enough to keep Sociedad out with the defensively negligible Giggs next to him, then he should certainly be able to do it with Cleverley.
