They're the only three options you go with in a European away tie. You don't start throwing people like Fabio and Varela into the mix in a game like this.

Oh dear the Nani moaners again.
You are comparing fabio to varela and expect people to respond seriously?
Valencia was really good at the weekend, why are people complaining about Nani not starting exactly?
It's Giggs in CM and Smalling at RB that I'm concerned about, oh, and Ferdinand starting, squeaky bums etc.
What does Moyes see in Buttner?
No, I'm saying you don't throw in Fabio, a guy who has had hardly any game time this season at the thick end of an away tie in a European compeition.
Of course this is the Cafe though and you all have boners for him, so you'll ignore why Moyes has gone with the safer option.
All three of them are necessary changes I think.
Jones started all three matches in the last week and needed a rest. So Smalling comes in at RB. Evans is injured so Rio comes in at CB. Cleverley is injured, Carrick is injured and Ryan Giggs is better than Anderson so he comes in at CM.
It's a very slow side but I'm not sure what other option Moyes had except for starting Fabio at RB but unfortunately that ship has sailed.
...
Stop being a fecking idiot and post properly. Explain what you're even going on about or don't bother at all.
Expected Nani to start, he doesn't deserve to be dropped for two games(possibly even more) after one poor game this season tbf.
Rafael isn't fit.
It was a choice between Jones and Smalling.
I wasn't talking about Rafael.

What the feck are you on about? I was talking about Nani and you quoted me and started talking about fullbacks. Are you okay?
...
He can play on the left too.
I should of quoted the post below yours. Moment of idiocy, my mistake for being a nob.
The Fabio played in CL final line is getting very old.
I think Kagawa was more deserving of a start though.
I'm not sure it's about who "deserves" the start, Kagawa was probably preferred as he could drift inside and add another number in central midfield.I think Kagawa was more deserving of a start though.
I almost started doubting my eyes for a second, I couldn't believe you are making same mistake three posts in a row.
What a strange team selection.
Smalling rightback - does not work.
Fellaini / Giggs - sit back and cringe
In which case people should stop acting like he's just come up from the reserves. He is experienced at this level, not some rookie.
Okay, why the feck do people think playing Young on the wing, or Smalling at right back is the 'safer' option??? 90% of the time, they are absolutely shite there and all our problems stem from Smalling at right back, and we always look shite going forward when Young is on the wing. The only people who are safe when those two play in those positions are the opposition, so please stop saying shite like it's the safe option. The safe option, is playing your best players in their proper positions, and Fabio is miles better then anyone we have in either fullback positions apart from Rafael and Evra, nobody can even dispute that (apart from Moyes apparently). What he sees in Buttner as well shocks me really, he has no concept of defending whatsoever, and Smalling at right back looks lost defensively and like always, is clueless on the ball so the whole right side becomes useless. Not to mention that Valencia looks shite on the wing when he has a defensive fullback like Smalling behind him. It really is simple stuff that troubles us time and time again, every game. Yet people will always say "He's the manager, he knows best". He really should know best, but when he keeps playing Smalling at fullback thinking it's a good option, it really makes me question him.
Rant over.

Yeah, I agree although five days is a pretty decent gap and I'm sure we could've named our strongest lineup in both games without much problem with fatigue but whatever.I reckon Jones is being held back for the weekend, as he'll play in midfield, hence Smalling starting.
The only people mentioning Fabio are those who claim he should be starting. No one is saying he's a rookie. just that he's not actually that good.
