Real Sociedad vs Manchester United

Need a bit of inspiration. Come on United. Dead match so far.

I've noticed a pattern here:

Tyldesley: (Says something funny, ironic or amusing; you can hear in his voice he's grinning)
Townsend: ....?

Like listening to a tin of dog food...

Sociadad are doing well in the league, only 6 points behind the CL spots.

we havent been creative.....is it an ambition thing

totally controlling the game and looking defensively solid

a bit like Shaktar......we'll probably go one up then sit back

They seem to be surrendering possession quite meakly but we seem to lack the ability to hold it for long enough to work openings. It's all a bit random.

Indeed, we played Villareal twice away and came back with 2 points in total with no goals score, nor conceded.

That same Villarreal side were a Riquelme PK away from a penalty shoot-out in the SF against Arsenal.. They were a good side.

I notice you're still after me, even after that Stoke game when you disappeared after I tore you in pieces. Piss off.

Vidal scores for Juve.

Spare a thought for those Manchester United fans who have paid lots of money to watch their team, whether it is pretty to watch or not. At the end of the day, we are armchair supporters and can watch any match we want, but as a Manchester United supporter, I prefer to watch us play. Secondly, whatever happens in Juventus's group only interests those who follow them, Copenhagen, Madrid or Galatasaray. If we were to follow results, then it would be those in our group to see if a result interests us or not.

We've been better they've had more real chances, says everything really. Simply haven't done enough to open Sociedad up so far. The ball into the box has so often been predictable and easy to defend that both Hernandez and Rooney are running around chasing nothings. The one time we did hit it hard, low and early into the 6 yard area Chicharito almost scored. There's a lesson there, surely?

Fellaini's probably been our best player. Valencia's been good too. Smalling is playing ridiculously high and is not a fullback.

Happy with us, so far. Fellaini's looking increasingly comfortable. Unfortunate to get booked, I think.

feck me, tht was slow.

I know exactly how this will pan out. We'll score. Then go to sleep. Mstch meanders till the 88th. Some ping pong in our box to scare us. We win 1-0

Boring, just like most CL away games against tricky opposition for the last decade.

Don't feck with the formula I guess.

Valencia gets sucked infield again, resulting in the shot by their LB. Baffling. Is it a tactical decision for him to position himself so far infield?

We take too long when we get in the final third, we saw glimpses of success when we went fast and direct.

Other than that, comfortable.

Good defensively but feck me we look dull when in possession. Just standing and watching

Not really, they were excellent last season, the side playing the best football in Spain in the 2nd half of the season, and they absolutely outplayed Lyon in the CL play-offs this season... but they've had a woeful start in the league after losing their manager and their midfield general Illarramendi, they were lacking confidence up until 2 matchdays ago... recently they've been recapturing some of that form but still nothing like last season.

Only issue I have is the slow build up and movement. Got to move faster to open them up.
