Bundesliga 13/14

Interesting games today with the 4 teams behind Bayern playing each other. Dortmund is playing Leverkusen later today, Gladbach is playing Schalke right now and Schalke took the lead after Farfan scored a penalty in the 17th minute.

Gladbach:
Ter Stegen - Korb, Jantschke, Stranzl, Wendt - Herrmann, Kramer, Xhaka, Arango - Raffael, Kruse
Schalke:
Fährmann - Uchida, Höwedes, Santana, Kolasinac - Farfan, Meyer, Neustädter, Matip, Draxler - Boateng
Farfan scored a pentaly for Schalke, so

Brilliant football at times, though. We're also incredibly effective this season and score all sort of goals, great stuff. I'm sure it's a nightmare to prepare for a game against us, we're so versatile, we really hurt the opponent in so many different ways.

Seems like Schalke fecked up again, the whole club is beyond crazy, they can't play a full season without massive drama. Höwedes sent off with a 2nd yellow after a stupid hand ball in the box, Gladbach up 2:1 at halftime.

Scores at halftime:
Gladbach - Schalke 2:1
Frankfurt - Hoffenheim 0:0
Hamburg - Augsburg 0:1
Stuttgart - Hannover 2:2
Bremen - Bayern 0:3

Yesterday:
Nürnberg - Mainz 1:1

To think that we were a better team than them 6 years ago show how much can be done in such a period of time.

6 years ago? 2,5 years ago United played the CL final while Bayern collapsed, went out in the first CL knockout round and finished 3rd in the league.

Ribery is just awesome. What a player he became in the past 2-3 years. 6-0 now, 2 goals and 2 assists and he's probably still in pain with his broken rib, yet he's working nonstop for the team and adding some moments of brilliance. Truely amazing.

Feel a bit sorry for Bremen fans, the team is a mess and they're lucky that they started with important wins against the other weak teams. They have to fight hard to stay in the league.

Bayern are just too good for these teams they will win the title by 20 points just like last season and i wouldnt be surprised to see them win the treble again this year, they really are that good. I hate the feckers.:D

Schweinsteiger and Robben really will have a tough time to get back into the starting 11, if everyone continues to perform on that level.

Bremen's defense make spanish sides defenses look like Herrera's Inter.
Oh come on, as if English defenses look good at the end of such a game. Bremen started out okay, Bayern scored through an own goal and after a corner, and then destroyed a team that lacked believe. Things like that happen in all leagues.

Bayern didn't stop after the 3rd or 4th goal. Just kept going and going.

Seemed like Ribery was really pissed that he missed a few weeks, so he had to make up for it . He kept going and going and drove the team forward.

How utterly terrifying and demoralising it must be to be 0-4 down but still have the other team running against you full tempo.

I'm actually surprised they did with the City game in 3 days and the club world cup soon. They looked tired in the last weeks, but Ribery really turns the team into something special.

Bremen have never had a good defense for as long as I've even been watching them. In fact they've mostly been terrible which makes for great viewing

Bremen's defense is pathetic they have suffered 14 goals in the last three league games, good performance by Bayern but it was a against sub par opposition, if they do the same against City in their next game then i'll be very impressed.

Even we scored 5 goals away to a much better German side than Bremen. Not saying that Bayern aren't outstanding, but the overall quality outside of the top two seems to be a bit light at the moment.
The Leverkusen game was another in which the mentality of the team was much more the problem than the actual quality. They won 4-0 at home against Donezk, for example. Highly doubt those results say a lot about the actual gap between teams or reflect the quality of midtable teams in the different leagues.

Ronaldo or Messi playing for Bayern would score 60 goals just in the league against these kind of opposition.

Pretty sure our away performance at City shortly after they embarrassed United was proof enough for our quality. I wasn't argueing that Bremen's defense is shit, I wrote that myself. I just thought your comment about Spanish defenses and catenaccio was very stupid.

Who the feck cares? Why is it necessary to bring their goal scoring rates into this discussion, it's so incredibly annoying. It seems like football is only judged on how many goals those two could score against a team these days. It's not only annoying, that sort of speculation is also beyond stupid and doesn't help in the slightest to prove a point.

And after the game he went on to settle the Palestinian/israeli conflict once and for all while walking out of the pitch, he discovered the cure for aids by himself while showering in the locker room and he ended all the world's hunger on his way home. forget Ballon D'Or hes above that already, forget best player thats nothing hes the best human being that ever walked this planet and he achieved all that with a broken rib,Legendary stuff. expect a motion picture about it in the not so distant future.

Agreed on all accounts. Bayern Munich is right now simply in a league on their own and that not only in Germany. They would also walk the PL right now with Arsenal being the only serious competition.

And constantly bringing up the amount of tracking back a supposed player does(he doesnt do half of what you say) helps to prove a point? BTW why you mad? your team just won by 7 goals you should be happy a instead of being butthurt cause someone said something you didnt agree with.

Thiago, Kroos, Götze in midfield today  . I get incredibly excited everytime I read those 3 together in the line-up.

The rest of the team:
Ribery, Mandzukic, Müller - Alaba, van Buyten, Boateng, Rafinha - Neuer

Bremen has turned into such an awful side, it's really sad, if you compare it to the wonderful attacking players they had in the past 10 years:
Wolf - Gebre Selassie, Lukimya, Caldirola, Garica - Elia, Fritz, Makiadi, Hunt - di Santo, Petersen

And you said you are in an injury crisis currently.

They won 7-0 away, without Schweini, Robben, Martinez, Lahm etc. Pointless league.

Who fancies Leverkusen for the win?
With Dortmund's depleted defense(without Subotic,Hummels and Schmelzer) and with Reus not starting due to not being totally fit add that to the strange case of Gundogan(can anyone tell me whats going on with him) and i can def see Leverkusen getting something out of this game, will be rooting hard for Dortmund though.

I've a fiver on Bayer at 9/2. Too great are the odds, they have more of a chance than that.

How come Piszczek is just on the bench here?

Pretty even game so far
