Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur

So frustrating. Great start, well on top then they score and our confidence goes completely.

feck sake.

Lionel Young on at HT for Val, Shinji for Welbeck, Rooney up top

Same old problem. We lack creativity from the centre of the park. We rely too much on crosses from the right and Welbeck is isolated in the box.

What are you on about? Stop following me around the forum you freak.

You have far too many posts which are ultra-negative about every aspect of United not to be suspicious.

Bring on kagawa or young for smalling, and push Valencia to right back is what I'd do. Still plenty of time to turn it around but we need a win.

HT. Demoralising and predictable. Feels like a familiar story this season. Decent enough start, no breakthrough and then throwing the initiative away. For all our possession, crosses and corners, not much of it has actually been effective. Spurs have been quite happy to sit back, clear the danger then hit us on the counter attack.

We need to mix it up a lot more and try to penetrate from the left flank and middle. Rooney's clearly off the pace but he needs to sharpen up and get involved in the danger zone. Ideally we need chances falling his way.

And our crosses from the right are shocking!

Seems like the Newcastle game all over again. Not surprisingly, their best two chances came from our left hand side; two excellent crosses and one goal. Meanwhile Valencia's busy trying to pummel Rose's shin guards.

Looking at our bench, Young seems to be the only option worth bringing on.

Rooney and adnan aren't in the game at all, valencia is playing well but his wank crossing makes everything else he does useless, it's just terrible and we should just stop playing from his side, samlling is having a mare, how did adebayor get that much time and freedom to head the ball is beyond me, at least make it uncomfortable for him, i'd take adnan and smalling off and get young and kagawa on.

Spurs deservedly ahead. Our stupid crosses and long-balls are starting to drive me insane.

We're as dire as we've been in the PL this entire season. This just looks like one of those days where we actually don't get the points.

Its kinda funny that Valencia gets all the criticism while Januzaj whose decision-making has been horrible escapes everything!
Januzaj is 18 years old and thus should not be judged at the same level as Valencia.

You do know he's one of the most creative players in our squad right? You're happy with the pass to Valencia, drilled blocked cross routine for another 45 minutes?

I do but Kagawa has showed very little creativity and has been largely underwhelming in most of his starts and appearances, not to mention the player who would make way is Januzaj and I'd rather see Januzaj on because he's actually in some vein of form.

And once again we look pathetic at home.

Can someone explain the point of Antonio Valencia? He contributes nothing. Hell, I reckon even I could stand on the right wing and leather the ball as hard as I can in the direction of the first defender every time I get it.

Valencia has to come off. Utterly dire.

Januzaj has been worse.

Good 15 minutes. After that total crap. Lost control in midfield. Clev and Carrick totally invisible, Val trying to kill his fullback with the ball again and Rooney frustrated. Shit half

Theme of the season so far

Started well but our problem is we rely too heavily on attacking down the right and Valencia is having his normal "hit the first man or make an aimless cross" game.

1 in 13, usual shite from Tony

And let's forget who created the first chance for Welbeck with that superb long-ball - and let's also forget who neatly set-up Smalling for his big chance....

And let's forget that several of Valencia's crosses have been decent - it's just that we don't attack the ball, while Dawson does

I thought we started off really well, without creating many clear-cut chances. Valencia was doing everything right apart from actually getting crosses into the box. It was looking very encouraging IMO...

Then we conceded. Since then we've been poor. Spurs look dangerous every time they get forward, defensively we still look far too fragile, and we need far more cutting edge in attack/wings. Come on lads, sort it out.

Pass to Valencia for him to literally hit and hope ..rinse and repeat for 90 minutes. Best tactic ever.

This is a real test for Moyes now. He has to change it. Just not sure what change should be...
More importantly, he needs to get more out of these players. This a champion squad. They're playing like frightened kittens everytime they go a goal down at home.

Bollocks from you, as usual. You should be happy though, maybe your idol will get a few minutes on the pitch now. That's the most important thing.

Is Adnan being told not to run at players ? He's releasing the ball way too quickly. Not surprised by the scoreline, we look toothless and way too tame. Spurs will be disappointed not to win it by the end of the match.

I would like to see Valencia in a midfield 3, like a Ramires type role.

Very promising 15 minutes, should've stinged those cnuts then and just play it with calmness. Instead, we've got a goal out of blue and don't seem to be doing too much to change it. Valencia's crossing today is some kind of a fecking joke, I don't know how many of those he's drilled today but I can tell that probably none was good. Danny's link up play doesn't work today, he's not linking it with neither Rooney, Januzaj or Rooney. Team work by Evra and Januzaj is shite and Carrick is doing very little of his ol' good passing. Another positive match from Cleverley I'd say.

Webb is having a laugh with cards though, can't believe there was no card for Soldado when he handled it in the box and I'm not sure whether Lloris didn't punch it from the outside of the box in the very first minutes.

We lack someone special. Someone who can beat players. Like Hazard. Our wings have been dire.

Some overreactions going on here. We were easily on top for over half an hour, Spurs have barely been able to play out, they hit us on the counter it happens but lets not act like this is a repeat of West Brom (H). There has been more coherence about our play today than in months. The issue is we are as soft as butter at the back and Valencia's delivery has been awful, plus Smalling is no kind of overlapping full back making our right flank as dangerous as confetti.

Its kinda funny that Valencia gets all the criticism while Januzaj whose decision-making has been horrible escapes everything!
Januzaj is 18. If the likes of Young and Nani were fit and played consistently well he would have enjoyed less game time.

No threat through cm just allows teams to happily stifle the width with no worries, they just sit back and double team the wings and we have nothing in creativity.

We need to get risky and just throw caution to the wind. WE MUST WIN

Again the players need to ask themselves how they can have so few efforts on goal. Maybe they're thick and devoid of any imagination. It's bullshit. We have no drive in midfield. It's always about the width and the width hasn't produced. They're a threat on the break so we gotta improve big time.

Disappointing to say th least and worst of all, some of our key players, Rooney, Welbeck and Januzaj are already looking a bit tired. We started brightly and you can see that we can work some space for ourselves but the final ball has been so poor. Valencia is more or less just giving the ball away with his crosses. He's so annoying atm because you can see he's fresh and able to get in behind but his final ball is so poor.

They were looking a threat on the counter and we paid the price eventually. Not too sure what was happening with Clev/Rooney in general, would like to just see Clev sit next to Carrick, and Rooney get closer to Welbeck. If they can play with two strikers we should be able to as well. Also tbh neither of them seem to be dropping next to Carrick enough making it a lot harder to start moves from deep without Carrick having to use a long pass.

No reason we can't get back in to it but will be tough now as they're certainly a threat on the counter if we do over commit, but this is what we need to do if we want fourth let alone anything else.
