I hope he can be back tomorrow. I too look forward to his return, like @Lynk, I believe he'll be good for us. Stoke away is a physicall game, so having him and Van Persie could do us well.

I've only ever really watched him off the front man. I thnk his confidence is low at the moment which always affects a player. When he is fit what type of player are we getting??

A 4-2-3-1 formation with Fellaini and a box to box midfielder being the base for a completely attacking, no 'defensive winger' front 4 would be epic. I know we've been complaining about not being creative enough but Januzaj - Rooney - Mata and RVP ahead of them cannot be superseded by many in an attacking sense. If need be, Rooney or Mata could drop a bit deeper and dictate for us.

I'm bewildered that so many contributors seem to think Fellaini will come good for United. Personally, I'm struggling to see how he gets much playing time during the remainder of this season or next season; might be different when Carrick is no longer considered a starter and if Fletcher's contract isn't renewed. Of course I'm assuming a new high profile central midfielder will arrive in the summer and be a regular starter. The competition for the other place in central midfield will be ridiculous: Carrick, Fletcher, Fellaini and possibly Jones on occasion. I see Cleverley as cover for the new signing.
I suspect had Moyes known that Fletcher would recover, he wouldn't have bought Fellaini. It leaves us with too many midfielders who protect the defence to some extent, and not enough creativity.

Have to laugh at everyone here getting excited for his return! Lets remain calm, lads. He's been very poor thus far but hopefully we begin to see some return on investment when the oaf's back fit.Bit too close to home for poor Fellaini.
Oh I'm sure Fellaini will get games, he is Moyes' first signing after all, he made a point of bringing him here so he has to play him. Whether he'll do well or not remains to be seen but I'm sure he'll get plenty of chances.
Nice of Moyes to pair Jones and Giggs in center mid ahead of a possible Fellaini return, at this point I'm actually excited to see him play again.

Possibly Jones? As it stands he's arguably ahead of the other three. He's certainly been a much better midfielder than Fellaini this season.
He has had a couple decent games but, overall Jones in midfield has been just as poor in terms of playing as a midfielder i.e. not offering much in terms of knitting play together. What he has been better at is the defensive side, which isn't a surprise.
Actually thought Fellaini finally had one of his better games against Everton but, unfortunately that day everyone else seemed to be having bit of a shocker. He might have kicked on - hopefully once he is back we'll see him build on that performance because he definitely is a better midfielder than Jones.

He seems look better with back to goal than facing it.
He also seems better with the ball in the air rather then on the ground. I remember somebody out a match vid of all his touches against us when he got MotM last season, and literally every single one was heading or knocking down a long ball. No clever passing, dribbling, not much tackling either. Just like 6 minutes of aerial duels.

He is a good footballer. But many have short memories and have forgotten what he can actually do.
I hope we get the best out of him and he has my full support even though I don't see him as a United player and the arrival of Mata just adds more weight to the fact I can't see him succeeding here. His strength is in and around the box where he can hurt teams, I can't see him and honestly, don't want to see him there when we have the likes of Mata, Rooney, Kagawa, Januzaj etc up there.
In saying that, against a team like Stoke, coming off the bench he could play an important role, more likely defending in our box if we are put under pressure.

He really isn't, he's an average player whose one saving grace was his ability to make a nuisance of himself in forward positions. He's not now, or will he ever be, a top class midfielder, there is not one element to his game that would put him in that bracket.
To me this is like a January signing. The start of his career was blighted with injury, and the team was a wreck. We are more settled now so it'll be interesting to see how he fits in.
I look forward to his return to be honest. Look back at how he rifled in to support Januzaj in that Fulham away game (he was the only one, if memory serves): he's one of the few with a pair of bollocks in the current squad.

That's the most disappointing thing for me. I don't and I don't think anyone has any hopes for his footballing ability, he isn't at the level we need. However, the disappointing thing is that he hasn't been able to use his physcial presence, he has been bullied by players you would expect him to bully.
He needs to get angry and get in people faces. At Everton, he was all elbows, players we scared to go near him incase they copped one. Look at when he killed us, not one player wanted a bit of him, he needs to find that when he gets back on the pitch. Hopefully he does.

He is our second best midfielder so I will be happy with his return. Not the best player, but he can fight in midfield and has presence, has ok passing and is great for attacking and defending set pieces.

The time that he has been out there, it amazes me that we do our best on attacking free kicks and corners to put it as far away from Fellaini as possible. I don't understand why we never tried to pick him out. Hopefully he can get on the end of things when he gets back, it's his strength but we never helped him to be fair to him.

Just saying. He's looked frightened in his short time with us so far.
That's what i was hoping when he joined ,but he seems to have left all that behind at Everton.
I think he just felt a bit overawed. He needs to believe he's good enough. I'd love to see him and Kagawa both get on the scoresheet and some confidence quickly.
With the return of Fletcher who is looking good, this isn't the case anymore.
