So, the headline states; Kroos agent dismisses Manchester United links
And then the story states; "There's nothing in it at all, it is just rumours," a spokesperson told Goal.
Seems legit!
I am disappointed how posters and the usually reliable muppets like @iSparky are giving up so early on this transfer. It is deadline day ffs!! We got Mata in this window, we might as well get Messi. B.E.L.I.E.V.E.!! We need one last push...14.5 hours...that's all the club is asking from us.
@RHD
Thanks for clearing up. I was going to get a Kroos's face tattooed on my arse tomorrow. Phew!
That was every sane man's conclusion when the pictures emerged last week.
What makes Honigstein's claim so interesting?
He seems to know his shit about German football, so i just thought to post what he said. He could just be guessing what many of us thought. Not too many Germans come to clubs in England either though...
Window closed at 5pm in Germany, so I'm gonna say no on that one.Maybe we're signing Götze?
What else should Sammer say at the moment?Bayern directors have apparently said they won't sell him and that Thiago and Kroos are their future.
Yeah, they aren't going to come out and say we "we haven't agreed anything and he'll be off". Once everyone is fit, there's no guarantees that he'll be first choice, although he'll still get plenty of games of course. They'll have Schweinsteiger and Martinez back in the team, and Pep loves Thiago (rightly so), so I could see Kroos being the one shifted to the bench in a big game. With 1 year left on his contract, a 30-35 million pound offer and they'll accept, just like Chelsea did for Mata. I think he'll end up signing a new contract personally, but in the rare event that they all get pissed off at each other and can't come to terms (it does happen), then we should be very quick and bid right away, not wait around for 2 months and let other clubs swoop in.What else should Sammer say at the moment?
Of course Bayern Munich will sell him in the summer if he hasn't signed a new contract and they've a offer (like 30m) for him
Who knows, if he pushes for a transfer, with 1 year left on his contract, they would accept £35m IMO. They wouldn't want an unhappy player sitting around disrupting team morale and all that, and it would give them the funds to go out and buy Draxler which they probably will to try and replace Ribery/Robben soon. It's not as if he's a vital player who they can't afford to lose and would go to a team in the same league.People seem to think Bayern will just sell like that. When have they ever sold a top player?
They wouldn't sell Ribery to Madrid. It took a lot of time for us to get them to sell us a crock. They rather let Ballack go on a free then sell him.
So I'm bemused people seem to think that we'd drop just £30m and they'd accept. They don't need to and I bet they rather let him go on a free then sell him. Especially as they got Lewandowski on a free. So that signing would offset any cost as they effectively signed a £30m player on a free.
We need to add quality throughout, Kroos will just be the start, like Mata.Kroos is a wonderful player, but would solve the lesser of our midfield problems in my view. My bigger concern is finding someone who makes us a bit harder to fecking run/walk/stroll through. Kroos is great at circulating the ball and has a great shot, but we are soft, and have been for years. Matic was the one I really wanted. A midfield of someone like Matic and Vidal would be perfect, would immediately toughen us up centrally.
Michael fecking Carrick is the man who is supposed to go around beating people up for us! Him and Kroos would be great with the ball but just as poor as we are now without it.

He will add a threat to our midfield that none of our over's have though - goals. Cleverley, Carrick, Giggs, Jones, Fellaini even are hardly prolific scorers. We have no longe range threat from the middle so teams are happy to sit off and keep tight. They couldn't do that with Scholes around, and as they came to close him down he would pop a ball in the gaps.
He is also very good at keeping the ball and getting up the pitch, we need confident player's not people who crab all game and pass the buck.
We also never had this problem about having a hard man in midfield when Scholes/Carrick dominated midfield's a few years back!
In a nut shell: I am very happy at Bayern and my personal situation as a starter is very good. It is, though, a fact that we cannot agree to a new contract at the moment. But, as it runs until 2015, I don't see it as a big problem, we will see what the future will bring. I am concentrating on playing football and hopefully we can be as successful as last year. Toni
