So, the headline states; Kroos agent dismisses Manchester United links

And then the story states; "There's nothing in it at all, it is just rumours," a spokesperson told Goal.

Seems legit!

I am disappointed how posters and the usually reliable muppets like @iSparky are giving up so early on this transfer. It is deadline day ffs!! We got Mata in this window, we might as well get Messi. B.E.L.I.E.V.E.!! We need one last push...14.5 hours...that's all the club is asking from us.

Being realistic, this muppetry is for the summer. Our business is done for January.

This was never happening this winter guys, I think we all know that.

This summer though is a different matter, and I have no doubt's we will push hard.

Whether its Kroos, Gundogan, Vidal, (insert top mid here).... we will splash our cash on somebody wankworthy

Just a heads up with this one:

http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014...t-on-manchester-united-deal-kroos-wanted-mo/?

Bundesliga ‘expert’ Raphael Honigstein has asserted his belief that Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos was never interested in joining Manchester United but rather something else…

The German journalist spoke candidly with talkSPORT on the subject of Manchester United’s interest in the 24-year-old Germany international – United boss David Moyes had been pictured earlier on this week in discussion with Kroos’ agent Sashca Breese on a scouting trip in Germany.

Clearly Moyes had some business being there talking to Kroos’ agent who is also the agent of Marco Reus.

What was not as widely reported is that Breese is also the agent of Bayern Munich’s summer signing midfielder Mario Gotze which is where it becomes interesting.

"Toni Kroos has a contract which runs until 2015 and Bayern Munich are trying hard to re-negotiate,” Honigstein said.

“He has the same agent as Mario Gotze. There’s a lot of envy there because Gotze is probably on double the money Kroos is.”

Gotze is reported to have signed a deal this summer when he signed for the Bundesliga champions from Borussia Dortmund worth €7 million a year. He is three years youngter than his Bayern Munich and Germany colleague Kroos who earns a reported £70,000 a week, which equates to roughly €4.4 million per year.

“The assumption in Munich is that they will find an agreement though,” he added.

“The link with Man United has come at a good time for Kroos and his agent because they can force Bayern to go a little bit higher in their contract offer.”

If Kroos did in fact intend to stay in Munich until the summer when he’ll be entering the final 12 months on his current deal and be in a better position to agree a ‘bumper’ deal then what was David Moyes doing in Germany chatting to his agent?

Was Moyes being duped into think one of Breese’s clients was interested in joining United in a ploy to get Bayern to panic over their players absconding, enough to offer Toni Kroos a deal closer to that of Mario Gotze?

@RHD

Thanks for clearing up. I was going to get a Kroos's face tattooed on my arse tomorrow. Phew!

He seems to know his shit about German football, so i just thought to post what he said. He could just be guessing what many of us thought. Not too many Germans come to clubs in England either though...

Sorry, pal, that wasn't aimed at you! I know you only posted the article.

My grievance is with the writer who decided that that was "interesting" information. The dogs in the street knew that!

I hope we can pull of a player like this (will not happen). It would give Liverpool, Everton and Spurs a scare that they would suffer from during the season.

What else should Sammer say at the moment?

Of course Bayern Munich will sell him in the summer if he hasn't signed a new contract and they've a offer (like 30m) for him
Yeah, they aren't going to come out and say we "we haven't agreed anything and he'll be off". Once everyone is fit, there's no guarantees that he'll be first choice, although he'll still get plenty of games of course. They'll have Schweinsteiger and Martinez back in the team, and Pep loves Thiago (rightly so), so I could see Kroos being the one shifted to the bench in a big game. With 1 year left on his contract, a 30-35 million pound offer and they'll accept, just like Chelsea did for Mata. I think he'll end up signing a new contract personally, but in the rare event that they all get pissed off at each other and can't come to terms (it does happen), then we should be very quick and bid right away, not wait around for 2 months and let other clubs swoop in.

People seem to think Bayern will just sell like that. When have they ever sold a top player?

They wouldn't sell Ribery to Madrid. It took a lot of time for us to get them to sell us a crock. They rather let Ballack go on a free then sell him.

So I'm bemused people seem to think that we'd drop just £30m and they'd accept. They don't need to and I bet they rather let him go on a free then sell him. Especially as they got Lewandowski on a free. So that signing would offset any cost as they effectively signed a £30m player on a free.

Who knows, if he pushes for a transfer, with 1 year left on his contract, they would accept £35m IMO. They wouldn't want an unhappy player sitting around disrupting team morale and all that, and it would give them the funds to go out and buy Draxler which they probably will to try and replace Ribery/Robben soon. It's not as if he's a vital player who they can't afford to lose and would go to a team in the same league.

Kroos is a wonderful player, but would solve the lesser of our midfield problems in my view. My bigger concern is finding someone who makes us a bit harder to fecking run/walk/stroll through. Kroos is great at circulating the ball and has a great shot, but we are soft, and have been for years. Matic was the one I really wanted. A midfield of someone like Matic and Vidal would be perfect, would immediately toughen us up centrally.

Michael fecking Carrick is the man who is supposed to go around beating people up for us! Him and Kroos would be great with the ball but just as poor as we are now without it.

We need to add quality throughout, Kroos will just be the start, like Mata.

He will add a threat to our midfield that none of our over's have though - goals. Cleverley, Carrick, Giggs, Jones, Fellaini even are hardly prolific scorers. We have no longe range threat from the middle so teams are happy to sit off and keep tight. They couldn't do that with Scholes around, and as they came to close him down he would pop a ball in the gaps.

He is also very good at keeping the ball and getting up the pitch, we need confident player's not people who crab all game and pass the buck.

We also never had this problem about having a hard man in midfield when Scholes/Carrick dominated midfield's a few years back!

That's irrelevant, we have the problem now. Perhaps a large part of the problem is the fact that Carrick is less of a player today, and other teams were less good. Also, we had Fletcher to kick people back then, but he's less effective now. If we could get an actual midfielder to do what Jones does in CM, it would be great. Someone who can pass and dribble in addition to Jones' strengths. That said, it is telling that we have looked the most convincing this season when Jones has played in midfield. We are soft, and open.

As for the rest of your post, I think the signing of Mata will have given us much of those qualities. For all the Kroos', Thiagos' etc at Bayern, we could do with Martinez more than most. Another top player we watched move while talking bollocks about value. :(

Like I said before, money is the root of all evils, and if Bayern do not want to offer him that amount of money nor Kroos wants to lower his demands, then they may be forced to sell, it can happen nowadays. Unlikely, but makes things more possible.

If he is available in the summer, he'll have offers from the top clubs in Europe. We have no chance of tempting him with our shit football and Europa League football (if we're lucky).

Kroos made a statement on Facebook two hours ago:
Toni
In a nut shell: I am very happy at Bayern and my personal situation as a starter is very good. It is, though, a fact that we cannot agree to a new contract at the moment. But, as it runs until 2015, I don't see it as a big problem, we will see what the future will bring. I am concentrating on playing football and hopefully we can be as successful as last year.

Sounds like he's confident of getting a shiny new contract with Bayern.

His loss. No one is bigger then the club and I am sure that plenty of world class players would love to be 7th place under Moyes. Who needs Kroos when you have CLEVERly

Weird. From my intepretation, things hasn't change at all since the contract situation was brought up and he's willing to move clubs if both parties can't come to an agreement

I just can't see this happening. Will we ever produce another Paul Scholes?

my translation of that post:

I am very happy at Bayern, but if you do not give me the money I am expecting/feel that I deserve, then i'm moving on. I have until the end of the year, possibly until the summer to let you decide. In the mean time I while try my best for the club, but if you don't resign me i'm off to manchester.

Ta ra lads.
