Arsenal vs. Manchester United

Did anyone here see the Dark Knight Rises?

You know that first fight scene where Batman is hitting Bane with all he's got, but Bane just laughs at him and destroys him?

Yeah, that scene keeps coming to my head when I think of this match

Least excited I've felt about playing a big team in a long time. It felt inevitable we'd lose against Chelsea, but at least we had a sniff of 4th place then. Playing for pride in February. Wow.

I hope you are right, I always think United will win, but meanwhile, can I have some of what you are smoking

Its not just the losing, its the way that we are losing that hurts the most

I wish I had something to smoke right now. It's just that when people start expecting us to lose, that's when we like to stir it up.

Arsenal away is usually one of the fixtures I look forward to the most every season.

Now I just want it over with - I feel like relegation fodder desperately trying to avoid a hammering. Feckin hell Moyes.

Someone referred to the Fulham ganme as a dead rubber which I thought was strange. This game feels like one though and It's a long time since we've had this feeling in Feb! I wonder though, there's far more pressure on Arsenal to win this game.We could just surprise everyone and win tomorrow. One thing someone mentioned today though that I thought rang true. With so many members of our squad think and feeling that they won't be here next season, may actually be having an impact on the team and individual performances.

Feel like our players will be really up for this and are always confident when we play the modern Arsenal so I genuinely believe we'll draw - better performance than them but lose to a sloppy goal due to shite defending - if we were able to defend I'd actually fancy us.

In my Man Utd mindset of years gone by, I see us with a score draw or a win in this game. But if I manage to isolate myself in the tumescent shite of the Moyes era, we could realistically be looking at anything from a 3-0 to a 5-0 hammering.

This is a weird one. Against any of the other top sides I completely be resigned to a loss. But with Arsenal you just never know. But there will definitely be fired up after that Liverpool hammering

 Just re-watched that scene and it pretty much perfectly sums up what I expect to happen on Wednesday.

I have zero confidence of getting a result in this game. Just hoping we can spring and upset, though will probably settle for the team actually playing some decent football that doesn’t involve the standard push wide and cross back in approach.

The funny thing is Arsenal are susceptible to crosses and set pieces as we saw in our match and their last game.

Giggs will start.

We will also win but, will be a false dawn just as it earlier in the season.

Why do I think we stand a chance here?
Maybe because they have 1 win 4 losses and 1 draw against United, Chelsea, City, and Lfc?
I could see you getting something. They're still scared of you

If we are lucky I would say a comfortable win... but i'll go safely with a draw

FFS we're loosing and drawing to shit teams!!!

This is going to be brutal, they could maul us or Moyes will set us up so defensively we will get off light with 0-2 or 0-3.

That's actually quite optimistic. It suggests we might play scintillating football and win by a margin. That's a nice thought.

I doubt Moyes knows how to spell 'scintillating', let alone have his team play it.

I actually think it's going to be a tight game, probably decided by a single goal. United are obviously lacking confidence, but these are the kind of games that can turn your season around.

Only way we're going to beat Arsenal is if we actually invite pressure on to us and hit them on the break. Their defensive line is still so ridiculously high up the pitch and Sagna and Gibbs push up the wings that people like Januzaj and Mata could really hurt them on the break....Their midfield does a horrible job of protecting their back four at times...Well, over the last month anyway

But don't cross the boss Moyes will play this team:

DDG
Rafael, Vidic, Smalling, Evra
Valencia, Carrick, Giggs, Young,
RVP, Rooney

Meaning we are in for lots more crosses, a static and slow midfield that will be overpowered by Arteta and Wilshire as Ozil takes apart our exposed and weak defence.

4-1 Arsenal

I've discovered a video of a cat playing "patty cake" with it's owner....I suggest you find something in the same vain to comfort you, post match

Thanks for that.
