That's a brilliant attacking lineup. Glad to see afro-man back, hope that he does well.

#mufc substitutes v @cpfc: Lindegaard, Valencia, Fletcher, Giggs, Kagawa, Young, Hernandez.

Time to take bets on who the scapegoat will be now nobody can blame Valencia or Young for the performance. Fellaini strong favourite followed by Rio with Chris Smalling as the outsider.

I expect there to be a lot of complaints about Rio and Smalling (and probably Fellaini) but that front four
Nah, Rio was good in his last game and Fellaini is a welcome tbh. We need something different and he may give us that.

Apart from no Rafael i think that's our strongest lineup.

EDIT: Oh wait, didn't see Rio.

Jones, Rafael, Evans all out. Our luck with defensive injuries has been terrible the last few years. The back four picked itself really.

Eek, no Evans OR Jones.

So if Evans, Jones and Rafael are injured, that's probably our strongest team. Excited, and no complaints with that line up from me.

I'm not too keen on Fellaini but I'd rather he plays against Palace than in the CL. Nothing to moan about here. Not even Rio.
Edit- Rafa must be injured.

Tough choice but I'm going to blame Rio I reckon. No Valencia or Young has thrown me off course.

At least Fellaini is free of that injury now, which could well have been holding him back a bit. This is a big game for him.

Hope Mata is on the left otherwise we'll be unbalanced with Smalling on the overlap.

Fellaini will need to have a good game to cover that defence but should allow Carrick to spread the play further up the pitch.

That is the best possible eleven we can field, delighted.

Great to see that front 4, now lets see if we've been working on getting them to properly link up. No defenders on the bench is always a worry though.

Add in Rafael and rio out, and somebody for fellaini and it would be our strongest team IMO. Probably our strongest team at the moment given the injuries though, and it's the right time to give fellaini a chance.

Were those three defenders confirmed as being injured/rested in yesterday's press conference?

Fellaini's first start in months, that should be interesting.

That's arguably our best XI on paper, with perhaps Rafael in for Smalling, and Jones for Ferdinand.

Hopefully they'll perform like it.

Tell Carrick and Fellaini to not move, just sit in front of the defence.

One of them will sit in front of the defence, and I'd say it'll be Carrick. I'd like to see Fellaini get forward a bit, as he can be a threat higher up the pitch.
