Crystal Palace vs. Manchester United

Needing to quickly curl the ball in a first time shot with your worst foot doesn't qualify as a moronic miss to me.

Quite liking the look of fellaini today, not too bad so far and that is coming from someone who called him a useless wanker and a waste of money.

Fellatio has done well imo. Certainly offered a lot more than our other midfield options do.

Decent play, more watchable than a few weeks ago.
But no way through so far, and Fellaini should've bloody scored. He's done quite well though, apart from that..

We need to win this one :nervous:

Poor half overall, we still look like a nothing team. Only a couple of decent chances to speak of.

It's nothing against Van Persie or anybody else. The difference is that when fit, Persie has been given consistent runs in the side and a regular starter, which Hernandez hasn't been given even when our top two attacking players were out injured for large chunks of the season. You can't have Hernandez play 60-70 minutes of a one off game and act like he doesn't deserve any more chances just because he doesn't destroy the opposition. For the most part he's actually looked good when given the chance this season, somehow still goes unnoticed though.
Your post would be spot on, were it not for the bolded part. This has easily been Hernandez's worst season here, his first touch has gotten worse seemingly.

We look more solid and compact but chance creation and speed of play against a bus remains an issue.

Impressed with Fellaini minus the miss. Looks comfortable rather than cautious.

It's okay so far I thought Palace would be all over us. They're solid but we'll break them down at some point. Worth mentioning again, Arsenal and city were 0-0 at home at the break to Palace too.

We have all the dynamism of a sloth.

Rather dull half. Promising that we are trying to go down the center far more, as generally our better chances/plays have come as a result of that. We need to lift the tempo in the second half

Whats this thing we're doing today where when we dont have the ball we make runs? Is that allowed in modern day soccer?

What? Most of it is praise for him doing completely simple things like 5 yard passes and breaking into the area.
Yep. He's done alright. Much better than previous appearances and he's coming back after a long break.

We miss sth in the final third but overall it was an ok performance. Fellaini was pretty good I thought. Smalling as a RB just isnt working though.

Palace have been working hard off the ball. We've seen this before many times. It's very hard to do for 90 minutes...
If we keep going, we'll carve them open a few times in the second half..

So Fellaini plays decent for most of the match, no one says a thing. Fellaini misses a chance, cue outrage.

"Decent" against what standard? Yes, he deserves some slack for this being his first match in three months but my God he's got a long way to go before he's "decent".

We have to raise -- or better put, restore -- our standards, mates.

Fella needs to keep his head up, we know he can finish, just needs to keep making those forward runs/drives. Much better than having him fecking standing inside the box waiting for the lob.

We should be a couple up really but atleast we looked like a half decent side in that half.
