Olympiakos vs. Manchester United

Kagawa´s career at United is over...
No way in hell is he staying for another year.
It's mental that we persist with one dimensional footballers who offer nothing, absolutely nothing, more than hit and hope crosses over an an intelligent footballer who can actually pass the ball well.

It hurts my brain when I try to make sense of it.

I think we can blame him for not performing as well as he can, so many games when he should have done better.

At the very least, he should have been given a fair chance. The likes of Valencia and Young have got games after games even when they've stunk the place up. He's been dropped even after good games. Ofcourse he needs to take a part of the blame, even he wouldnt disagree with that but he's not had a proper chance this season.

We're away to fecking Olympiakos. Do we really need both Young and Valencia?

I'll give Moyes the benefit of the doubt until I see some of the game, Europe seems to be something he has a grasp of this season oddly.

You have to laugh at this. No Kagawa, and both Valencia and Young starts. And to top that, 4-4-2 with Cleverley in the middle.

I suspect we'll see Valencia playing at right back before the game is up. What is the situation with Rafael? If he was that badly injured why did we take him to Greece in the first place?

Valencia vs Ronaldo.
Young vs Bale.

The possibilities that await us if we do qualify.

That said, I'm not so sure if a 4231 or even a 4411 would be the way to go against the top teams. We should have played a 451 with Fellaini replacing RVP and leaving Rooney as a lone striker, it's our best bet against the very best teams so practice now.

Dortmund took Sahin back and resurrected his career, don't see why they wont do the same for Kagawa.

Typical Moyes, worrying more about what our opponents can do than focusing on what we can do to them. He's our Hodgson and the sooner everyone realises that the better, really.

We'll still win tonight mind but that's not saying much.

I'm surprised Januzaj isn't playing. Moyes will get a lot of abuse if we lose this match with that line-up.

The way Rooney was biting the inside of his mouth when Moyes was talking at the presser...the way Rooney was talking up needing to keep the ball and be patient while Moyes...was Moyes. It all makes sense now. Hopefully we can get away without losing.

I completely forgot that mata can't play, can't expect felliani to start another game so soon, so i'll only moan about valenica, other than that it's a predictable team.

Dortmund will, Arsenal would, Italian teams would. He's been one of our top performers in Europe this season. The rest of the footballing world wonder why Kagawa never plays yet laugh at the likes of Young and Valencia starting every week.

I have no idea about the rest of the footballing world, but I think you can safely assume Martians on that list, and those blue blokes in that Avatar movie.

Oh come fecking on you.

I am trying not to troll here, but seriously: You can tell Moyes thinks this is a big game from that lineup. It's set up to not lose.

Probably enough to get a result tonight but I fear for us if we lined up like that against Barca, Bayern, Dortmund, PSG or Madrid

As long as they get to the byline, we might score from one of the 40 crosses.

It's safe to say we're going to see a fair few crosses, but at least there's no real height in the Olympiakos defence. We could be in luck.

Looks like we're reverting back to the rigid 4-4-2/just cross it tactic for this game. Disappointed that there is no Adnan in the squad at all, especially since we have no game this weekend. Going by the line-up, this may be a frustrating night.

Strange is just how our posters have lost the game an hour before KO.

Some positivity would help!

DDG is a great goalie! Evra seems to have found some form; Rooney and RVP are playing themselves in form and Carrick and Cleverley have formed a good partnership before. There are positives; it's just that we're so tired of seeing Young and Valencia when we have a great player in Kagawa not getting game time. It would make sense if Kagawa had played worse than Young, but he hasn't - not by a long stretch. Is it because Young is English?

Dortmund took Sahin back and resurrected his career, don't see why they wont do the same for Kagawa.

Yet Sahin doesn't look half as good as he did prior to going to Madrid.

Kagawa's not the same player he was for Dortmund either, make it under Ferguson or Moyes.

I wonder how Lewandowski will do at Bayern.

Positivity and consistency! This felt like a game where only one (forced) change was necessary.

We'll still win ;)

A lot of us called that team earlier, basically because it was so bloody obvious.
I guess I let myself believe moyes saw a bit of sense and saw the correlation of our best performances coming without young and Valencia. Guess not.

He's still quality. Kagawa will go back and he will get a chance, unlike here.

I'm going to try and forget about the lineup and just enjoy the game now. My excitement has taken a beating though.

I doubt you'd find too many who think we've lost the game Sults. Its the line up that's needlessly defensive. One of Valencia or Young was enough, we're playing Olympiakos for crying out loud. That's what the complains are about, not people giving up.

Ha ha, considering he has been a waste of space when he has played this season, it's not as though United will be trying to keep him.

God knows that Europes top clubs will be trying to take him away from us

Yeah, because he had so much opportunities this season... Anyone who thinks that he had a fair shot at making it at United this season is deluding themselves.

Two years ago, you bought a very skilled player, who never fit into your idea to play football, which is something that was bloody obvious from the start. You went from misusing him for a long time to not using him at all.

Part of the blame is on Kagawa for that, but if you buy a player, whom you know that he needs to change his style to fit in you need to give him play time to do that.

Hate to prejudge things and hope I'm proven wrong but it seems a disappointing reverting to type situation tactically. It's going to be cross-o-mania all night isn't it?

We could easily have absorbed Mata's loss and kept the same structure that I think worked so well Saturday. But we've not even tried.

I'm suprised people thought Kagawa would play in this one, he's essentially gone but that doesn't mean this first 11 is something I wanted to see. Young and Valencia don't deserve to play, Moyes can be so weird with his selections.
This first 11 is a proof that Moyes doesn't have the belief to change Man Utd's football in a more radical way. That's coward tactics.

I don't know what the feck is he thinking too but it's not like Young or Valencia are 'defensive wingers'. The latter is just shit. Kagawa's running his ass off and tackles a lot so it would make sense to put him on the 'wing' if he wanted more security. Or Welbeck atleast.
