West Bromwich Albion vs. Manchester United

DDG
Smalling - Evans - Vidic - Evra
Valencia - Carrick - Fletcher - Young
Rooney - RVP

That's what we will see based on how Moyes learns.

My choice:

De Gea
Rafael---Smalling---Vidic---Evra
Fletcher---Carrick---Fellaini
Januzaj---Mata
RVP
Starting two strikers isn't working brilliantly, so let's try something different - I think RVP would work better heading that attack than Rooney, and it might give RVP a lift. Fellaini did well against Palace and should've played in Athens but I think as part of a three with Fletcher and Carrick then he can be a bit freer in his position whilst ultimately providing cover for the attackers. The defence depends on injuries, but let's hope there's no need to play Smalling as right-back or Rio at all. No Young or Valencia obviously.

Reality: See KGBhoy's post.

Reading through some of the comments, there seems to be a bit of a shitty attitude towards our team. Yes, we're having a poor season, but as fans, we should be up for it whenever our team plays and always wanting a win.

I'll post my team nearer the time.

Cheers.

You are, of course, right. I am always up for it and always want to watch every match. That said, I'm not mad when we lose anymore. I just accept it and move on.

Team:

DDG

Rafael Smalling Evans Evra
Fellaini Cleverley

Mata Rooney Kagawa
RVP

Have Rafael and Mata lined up together yet? I think with Mata's ability to pass the ball and go inside, it could leave a lot of space for our energizer bunny down the right.

I still think that Rooney and RVP are a little too slow, and it doesn't help with Mata and Kagawa. However, that is probably our best line-up for now. If Nani is fit, I would start him out left.

Would really like to see:

De Gea
Rafael - Smalling - Vidic - Evra
Carrick - Fellaini
Mata - Kagawa - Januzaj
Rooney

Highly doubt that Moyes'd drop van Persie but I'd really like to see this.

Would be really happy with that team. Have either Rooney or RVP at the top.

Out of the two I think I'd rather see RVP start up front than Rooney... but it's much a muchness.

RvP's been getting on my tits for a while now. He's got a respectable number of goals but doesn't contribute nearly enough to our all round play and barely makes a tackle in the opposition half. One of the tactics we were all hoping to see a bit more of under Moyes was proper pressing when the other team are trying to work it out of defence. There's been glimpses of this but never with RvP up top.

He should be dropped and probably sold as he doesn't wanna be here and so good team and let's get Kagawa in the fold and happy and playing! ...Hang on though, Moyes hates him!

How could it be anything else?

Subs: Lindegard, Ferdinand, Jones, Fletcher, Kagawa, Welbeck, Hernandez

fecking hell Pogue, come on. He's our fecking target man. He's a pure thoroughbred striker and you want him sacrificing his game, like Rooney already does, to "get stuck in" deeper.

The reason for all your sympathies for Moyes are becoming clearer and clearer.

That is 110% our best team and unless someone is injured, that is the XI that should play every game from now on, no excuses. If one of the front four is injured, you reshuffle with Kagawa.

We were due to play city but the COC final is this weekend.

It is annoying but there are ways that the time could be profitably used.

Maybe the squad could take another holiday, except this time Moyes gets shipwrecked on a remote island with nothing but a tactics board for company [which he later names Milton]. Upon his returns to civilisation Dave is saddened to discovers that his old club has married someone else.

Play the same team as the Palace game with Rafael for Ferdinand and possibly Jones/Evans for Vidic. Bring on Kagawa and Hernandez at some point for any of Januzaj/van Persie/Rooney. Mata might as well play every minute in the Premier League and get used to the team-mates who will hopefully still be there next season if Moyes starts playing them more (unless Cleverley and Young are really in his plans for the future of Man Utd and trophies/UCL qualification).

If we don't win this game, then I would not mind playing our second string against Liverpool as we definitely won't catch them (not that I do even if we win this and beat Liverpool at Old Trafford, but the confidence could spill over to the Champions League and spur on a magical night at Old Trafford against the mighty Olympiakos).

Kagawa does deserve a start -- but it's hard to decide who he should be playing over. A few people saying RvP as he doesn't seem to care now if rumours are true (probably aren't). It'll probably be Januzaj, which I don't mind as rotating them doesn't change our tactics.

Perfect set up for hoof ball. This is it.

Only question - is Rooney blocking RVP in the formation (by wandering into his position), or are we just going with two goalies?

Two goalies. Moyes wants extra solidity.

Even more so as it brings back painful memories of that fiasco of a second leg against Sunderland at Old Trafford.

2014 has been one hell of a year for us so far.

Yeah but at times it I'm finding it morbidly amusing. Why? Who knows.
