Manchester United vs. Liverpool

This is going to be horrible. Never felt this bad going into a match before.

Have a horrible feeling Moyes will go all defensive with Welbeck and Valencia on the wings, Mata behind Rooney and Jones in midfield. Really, play our best XI and go at them, they are not that good at the back.
I also strongly hope Clattenburg has an extra eye on Skrtel today, the man gets away with an awful lot at set-pieces, a pen isn't out of question IMO if the ref gets his shit together and isn't afraid to give big decisions.

If as people are saying that liverpool are most dangerous on the counter attack then we need to drop and defend from deep to nullify that. However most people wont like that idea.

I suspect it'll be quite tepid, actually. A draw for both sides won't do much harm.
It does for us, we have to win. We win and you lose to Spurs and we're eight points off two sides in the race for fourth with nine games to play, anyone who thinks that gap is definitely insurmountable hasn't paid much attention to what can happen in football when pressure is applied. A draw and it's definitely over, a win and we still have a slim chance.

We win and we're 4 points off chelsea with a game in hand and them still to come to Anfield.

A draw for both sides won't do much harm for Arsenal, but that's about it.

It depends on whether United see the CL as a bigger chance to save the season.

United still have to go to Everton and have City at home. The recovery required really needs 4 from 6 there minimum.

It's hard whatever happens today.

Or play fast defenders. Like Jones/Smalling/Rafael.

Suarez has been too well behaved recently. I reckon he might give Fellaini a good tug on that Afro.

Please win today and shut Liverpool up, getting a little too mouthy for my liking.

3-0, van Persie hat trick.

I think it's inevitable we won't see Januzaj and Mata together in this game, though how I'd love to see them. We'll likely see Young or Valencia in one of the wide positions as they offer more defensively, something David Moyes seems to value in the bigger games. I don't think that approach will get us much in this game and would love to see us put our best attacking team out there. Their defence is their weakness, why not have a go and exploit it? If we sit back we run the risk of getting broken down eventually as they are useful with possession and we know all about their front-line.

Anyone else been nervous /on edge for the whole week because of this match? At first I was dreading it but the closer it gets the more excited i get. I just hope it's an open game with both teams going for it rather than a cagey affair. I'd much rather a 3-3 than a 0-0 draw.

Even though I think we'll get beaten comfortably, I still wouldn't be content with a draw. Anything less than a win would probably leave our top 4 hopes in tatters, if they aren't already.

By the way, what are all hoping the result will be in the North London Derby?

Yeah. It doesn't help that we've had 10 days off.

A draw wouldn't be horrible, we'd still be in the title race with that. A win and we'd be right in the thick of it.

When was the last time we absolutely battered a rival?

These games often ignore league form.

They often don't, they seem to follow the form book certainly in recent years. The only thing that changes is the intensity which'll go up a good few notches, the last time we battered a rival has been too long but I wouldn't expect that today. This isn't me being negative because I do think we can and will win but I reckon it'll be more in the fashion of a smash and grab rather than us being the better side for the 90 mins.

Spurs win surely? That is if you lot have top 4 aspirations left (I don't think it'll happen).
