Manchester United v Olympiakos

Got a feeling Tony V will play a blinder today...

Let's fecking hope so.

It's a football match, why is the line up not relevant?

If people just want to stand in an empty room and be entertained with themselves going "Whey-hey" then fine but if you're a football fan how is who your team plays not of interest?
Because, any time we've played these magic line ups, we've been shit anyway, we can't do any worse anyway.

I remember them being utter wank in other games.

Like Chelsea 2-1, and Schalke 2-0, and Chelsea 2-1 again. They were a class pairing in that run-in, and at plenty of other times as well. Just not so much since their combined ages exeeded 70.

Why Redknapp and Carragher in the studio? The Liverpool game was last weekend.

What the feck has happened to Jamie Carragher's face?

According to Norwegian TV, the media has been told to avoid asking "difficult questions" to the players, whatever that may be, after the game is done.

I have the joys of listening to RTE analysis tonight, you lot think you have it bad with sky

Rooney and Van Persie to pass to each other once throughout the 90 minutes. Afterwards, fans blames Ferdinand, Valencia and Giggs for our lost. Nevertheless, at least Valencia and Welbeck is their to give these static players pace to work with. Would have prefer Nani and Kagawa to start in this game instead of Valencia and Giggs/Van Persie. Other than that, I hope Valencia can put in some decent crosses and Van Persie does not scoff a chance that would have seen us through. Optimistic about our chances, but at least this team is slighlty more balance than the team we put out last weekend.

That's a good line-up. I am happy that Giggs, our most creative outlet from the middle, is starting in a game which we need to score at least 3 goals to win. Pace on the wings is good too. The only change I would have may be made was to may be start Kagawa in place of Van Persie. Rest, I have no complaints.

By now everyone should realize that it takes more than line-ups on paper by people on the internet to win games. We played like cowards with everyone's preferred line-up in the last game and were comprehensively beaten by a team that didn't even play well. Let's hope that these players can play without any fear and show some heart. That is what we need now.

The best title would be "19 years, The Odyssey is over: Manchester United crash out."

Is there any chance we're playing some kind of really agressive 4-3-3 with Giggs and Valencia as nominal CMs? Please?

You think Moyes has that sort of tactical nous?

He's played the same 4-4-1-1/4-2-3-1 setup all season. He won't change anything.

Anyone else think we might play Van Persie behind Welbeck, with Rooney on the left

Me neither. Le sigh

No that's not what we need now. That's typically English, regardless if you are or not.

Games are won through tactical application not "heart" or "bottle" or "they don't like it up themism". Else we may as well give Danny Baker the England job if all football requires is a geeing up and well-worn cliches about bottle.

Playing without fear and showing some heart are as elementary as hoping they each remember to tie both bootlaces. What we need is a manager who recognises our problems and seeks to address them. What we have is a manager that ignores them and has spent the last 7 months hoping things will turn itself around.

Wow. What happened to playing Kagawa a lot more?

Why does Valencia start in one of the most important games of the season ?

♫Trollin' trollin' trollin'
Poor siiiiiiide♫

Just tuned into Sky...why are Carragher and Redknapp the two pundits for a United European game?

1. Rumours about Giggs and Moyes falling out.

2. Giggs starts in a helpless game where we have to attack.

3. ??????

4. Prophet

To invoke my official 'cake and eating it card', even if we win it'll be seriously tainted unless we play differently to how we have been. If not then it proves we can beat Olympiakos at Old Trafford - is that really a huge deal? But it'l show that the issues that have dogged us all season against better (and let's face it sometimes worse) opposition, have still gone unrecognised or addressed.

And you think the man at the helm has less tactical nous than you do? Or are our players not good enough?

What has hampered us most season is that we have looked tentative on the field. The theatre of dreams has become a nightmare as the players are too afraid to lose. Hopefully, we can shed that tonight.

Rest of your post is nonsense as we not going to change manager before the game. And if watching United under Moyes is that much of a chore than find some other hobby till he is incharge.

Loads of sense being spoken tonight in the studio by all 3 in fairness to them.
