Attackers like Carroll get a lot more leeway than players like Fellaini doing basically the same thing

Big fella shaping up to be a quality addition. Can't see Fellaini being bullied of anyone.

I really think his defensive work today has been outstanding, has been very important in our box, and in many ways its this type of midfielder we have been missing at times.

Been one of a few things we have been missing. For all Moyes has been poor so far. I think he has made 2 signings of real quality.

One thing he's incredibly good at it is taking a touch and quickly playing a forward pass, in the games since he's come back I'd argue he's shown more in that respect than Carrick has this season. He gets no leeway from referees for his 'fouls' either, probably because of his size.

Obviously these things are completely ignored by his detractors.

Good game from the big man today. He's better when not playing alongside Carrick.

There's clear, big weaknesses to his game but he doesn't half get about - was everywhere today.

Really has been a beast this second half. Won the ball back so often, won a lot of headers, covered so much of the pitch, passed well. Still needs to be more careful with challenges near the box, but we really could have used him in this form in those matches he missed with injury. Might have made all the difference for the top 4 place.

He gets around far more than you expect. Always seems to be protecting our back 4 when opposition have it and gets forward when we do. He has more energy than I was expecting

He's pressed well IMO and defensively he's been excellent.

Still he can be far too ponderous with his passing.

Alongside a creative midfielder who can make driving runs forward, he'd be a good foil.

He's getting into the swings of things at Utd now. He did a good job helping out at the back there today, kept things ticking along nicely in midfield as well. I do think a lot of the time he does get hard done by when it comes to him challenging opposition players for the ball and stuff, from what I can see there does be a fair few players that take advantage of his size and go down easily enough in order to win a free. On the flip side it's no harm to have a bit of steel or a lad that'll throw his weight around a bit either, it's something we've been missing for a while now.

Yeah I've officially brought my novelty Jackson 5 wig out of storage after that performance. Good stuff from him.

Not managed to watch the game today but good to see the mainly positive vibes. I've maintained all along (even before we signed him) that he is a good player who can make a very good addition to the squad.

Very good today. The only real presence in the side we have and now he is starting to pass and carry the ball better could well prove a worthy and useful addition to our squad. Certainly gives us something different that's for sure.

We still need more technical midfielders, but in the PL you have so many games where you need at least one midfielder who won't ever be bullied physically.

Good form from fellaini. Not convinced he's what we need still but he's doing well. Put somebody like gundogan next to him and we'd play some great football.

He is really growing into the role, I hope he gets from now until the end of season and one other plays next to him rather than Carrick, if only to get him bedded in.

As Moyes said, he's played a bit of 1/2 CM 1/2 CB today to contain donkeycunt, done very well in this matter. Diving cnut was fuming all match waving his ogrehands at the referee and lost most duels against Fellaini. Real shame he didn't score his header at the start and then tripped in the box after that nice run  Foul should've been given on him outside of the box because Collins was visibly pulling his shirt and put him off balance there.

Played very well today. You could see from his performance that if he was a better 'footballer' he would be a top player. He's still ordinary in terms of his manipulation of the ball but he certainly has his use in the squad.

Unlucky not to score too.

Best game for United today. Needs to sort out his clumsiness.

One minute he's great, the next he's a clumsy oaf. Ah well, suppose that'll never change.

Think Moyes meant he'd essentially go centre back everytime West 'Am went wide tonight, he did and it worked perfectly. Completely annulled their sole attacking threat.

Showed some ability to play football too. His touch in the tight areas was very impressive. He can kill the ball with one touch with his thigh, his chest or anywhere he wants. I didn't think he had it at the start but now he is proving everyone wrong.

Another good game from the big man. I really do love the way he doesn't fanny about. He gets it and passes it forwards every time. Some important defensive work in there also.

Good game today, think he'll be useful when a natural No 10 is played. When Rooney plays in the whole we need a little more technical ability
