Really don't know why we haven't been playing him there. Utterly futile to keep shoving Mata out on to the wing.... the wings are there for wingers. There you go, play him in his best position and he's our best player and makes the whole team work. Hopefully this has opened Moyes's eyes and we play Mata as a number 10 for the rest of the league season.
i second thisWe should have a new thread dedicated to his blogs.
During a normal season we can play 2 or 3 matches in a week. Makes sense to me to rotate the squad for freshness which would give Moyes the wonderful combination options of VP/Mata, Rooney/Mata or VP/Rooney. Two games out of three each so they would be getting enough games, enough rest inbetween and all playing where they flourish the most.
Yeah, this. Up to Moyes to make it work, and the only way that seems viable to me is Rooney on the left, Mata behind RVP. Obviously Rooney doesn't like playing in midfield or like a classic winger but get him to be an attacking inside forward from that side and it could work well I think. That will never happen. How many other teams deliberately drop one of their three best players in every game they play?
So long as the three of them are all on our books the onus is on Moyes to find a way to play them all in the same XI.
true but let's assume he starts winning games with 2 out of the 3. what then? That will never happen. How many other teams deliberately drop one of their three best players in every game they play?

I was right. Again. So far, a nothing player for us.
It is a mountainous plight to be right sometimes. I wish I would make mistakes.
What was the point in signing him if we can't get the best out of him? Surely he should play behind a striker, but the "problem" is we got Rooney and RvP.
He's trying desperately to convince us that Mata has been a nothing player for us.Wait.. what were you right about prof?
Proof that giving good players to a crap manager won't solve anything.

Eh? He was winning matches for Chelsea single-handedly. Here, he has no idea what he is supposed to do.Players like Mata and Kagawa play well when the others around them are doing well. They're not game changers, they're team players. We lack movement, ideas, shape and sharpness.
