Atrocious performance, would be good if we had a footballer in place of him.

What about it? The poster asked a question. I answered.

Also, you might have missed it, but EVERYONE has been giving the ball away.

I'm usually quick enough to defend Fellaini but the truth is he looks out of his depth in a way very few other players on that pitch do.

If Moyes is serious about building something here he needs to bite the bullet and dump this guy, he made the mistake but he should rectify it immediately before hes worth nothing.

Let's hope West Ham don't sack Big Sam. He'd love Fellaini.

Does not have the mentality or technicality to play at this level. When the fans sarcastically cheered him when he finally won an aerial duel, it was telling of his display. He is doing his best, with what we expect of him though. Could be much worse to be honest.

We will probably have to gove this guy the Andy Carroll treatment. Hopefully someone will take him on loan next season and eventually we can get some money for him.

I backed him, but he just looks out of his depth.

Worst performance I've seen by a United player in a long time. Completely at fault for the goal.

So fecking bad. So predictably bad is what makes it worse. We all knew he was shit. We all knew he'd play like shit in big games. No surprise when that's what happens.

Fellaini just hasn't been at it all game.

not having a good night, needs to be subbed ASAP really.

Seems convinced he can outrun their fullbacks and the likes. Erroneously.

What the feck did he think would happen if he leaves Schweinsteiger without an opponent in the box? He is off and on the ball awful.

Waste of bloody space.

Never wins a header. He looks frightened of the ball. Has the first touch of a flipping rapist. Slow as hell. Strolls about with no desire whatsoever.

Agghhh.. frustrating

I've defended him a lot.

Today I learned that he will be a good player for us against the bottom 12 sides, but in a Box to Box role he cannot play against top sides. He just can't, ever.

To be fair to him - he's been asked to cover an insane amount of ground tonight, getting into the box every attack and so on.

So has Fellaini. That's the reason I came and commented in a Fellaini thread. What about his ball watching for the Bayern goal? Has EVERYONE been doing that as well?

Only "won" one header all night and that was unchallenged. How does that even happen.

He has played as the furthest forward at times. I don't understand why Moyes insists on that. He hardly contributes anything in the final third except for chesting it down.

This wasn't the game for him, but what he brings from set plays could be very important yet

He does not bring much to set plays to be fair though, unless the balls put directly on his head at his height he does nothing. He's not brave, he's bigger and stronger than most but he just doesn't attack the ball or stick his head in there. If he has to be physical with someone to get to the ball first in the air, he doesn't, he just watches it. That's my biggest issue with him.

Fact he was to lazy to track Bastian is another matter.

He can seriously f*ck off back to Merseyside.
Far, far, far below the standard of player that should be privileged enough to wear a United shirt. Awful excuse for a midfielder.

he's very dangerous in the air. plenty of stats down the years for that, most headers on target in the prem last year is one that springs to mind. i guess we'll see maybe he can contribute in the second leg

Biggest issue for me is he keeps giving the ball away.

He could be a bit careful on the ball, but considering how direct the players were instructed to play, and Bayern's quality and pressing, its not really fair to be critical of him here.

He did ok for us, defensively. Considering its his first big game against top European opposition as well.

He really does lumber about when we don't have the ball, he could have quite easily occupied the space they scored from if he wasn't just toddling back.

Not good enough, panic buy that hasn't panned out. Needs to be no more than a squad player next season, Moyes has to have seen that tonight.
