Where is he supposed to play ? I thought he was a CM but I could swear I saw him on the right wing and in AM position many times.

Yeah, he was pushing very far forward wasn't he? There were times when it seemed Kagawa was tucking in deeper behind him.

Worst signing we have ever done.
No hyperbole here.

We have just managed a result against Bayern and hordes are straight in here to slaughter one of our players with stupid shit like this.

I thought the hate for Berbatov here was bad....

Someone needs to get a gif of when he popped up on the left and played a peach of a ball into Rooney on the edge of the box. I would have banked money on Rooney scoring from it as well, if not for the top block by Martinez.

Criticism is way, way over the top for him today. I'm not saying he lit shit up, but he played his part.

Fletcher ahead of him from now. I think we've all seen enough. Maybe we can at resort to using him for some hoof ball in the last 10 against Bayern, should we have a result to hold on to.

A complete hinderance to what was otherwise a decent team performance.

I don't know why he thinks he doesn't have to track runners or mark players, but it cost us another win tonight.

don't think he was so bad...you don't get draws with probably the best team in the world playing with 10 men ffs.

Lads why do we feel the need to all rush in here and have a bitch after that big positive tonight... I think some people just watch football to have something to complain about

He's about as positionally disciplined as Steven Gerrard. He's always all over the place.

That's bound to have happened at least once.

Anyway, he looked more out of his depth than any other player on the pitch, including Buttner. That's fairly damning.

He tried his best but tonight he looked much like Bellion and Djemba when they played, in how far below the level he looked.
I really hope so, but it really doesn't look like it sometimes. One situation in first half summed him up for me: gone forward, for whatever reason, and when we lost the ball both Welbeck and Rooney were back defending before him. He just came casually jogging back. Their goal also came because he didn't bother tracking their scorer - was never actually near him.

Yeah, I'm probably being overly critical off him, but he annoys me so fecking much.

Awful tonight it has to said. Terrible in the air and shat himself whenever he got the ball. I don't agree with the comment he was too laid back though, thought he worked his socks off like everyone else.

A good defensive performance from him. Won a fair few headers, chested the ball well when hoofed and won the ball back a couple of times. I feared that he would get sent off if he played in the midfield but he didn't, which is a tick in the positive column for me. Could do much better in possession.

The Moyes United: drawing 1-1 at home, thus being down on away goals, is a big positive. It's decent at best. Relative to the rest of our season, it's probably good, but the rest of our season is a joke.

Was his football brain this bad at Everton? He seemed to be completely unsure of where he was supposed to be on the pitch and who he was supposed to track off the ball.

Almost every time he had the ball, he gave it away. I'm all for being patient with judging new signings but I've seen little that suggested he could be anything other than a useful squad member, at a push, for us.

Really shite performance from him today. Couldn't hold the ball under pressure and lost the ball a few times in our own half. Also Lost concentration many times and didn't pick up his man. Schweinstger was definitely his man for the goal. He got caught out there.

Yea the criticism is very harsh here. He was decent and won the majority of his tackles. Everyone expected us to get spanked tonight and he contributed to the fact we didn't.

Really? What game where you watching. Just wait for the stats.

He really did play that bad for me. The amount of times we were looking too counter attack and he gave away the ball in our half from a 5 yard pass was too many. I'm confused as too how he can't seem too win the ball in the air given his height? :wenger: He also didn't seem too be really tracking a player and when he did he just looked like he thought, 'feck it, lets just stand here and let him run past me'.

One of the worst midfield performances I've seen in a Champions League quarter finals in the first half. Was a bit better in the second half but allowed Schweinsteiger to run through to score the goal.

Some posters need to leave this thread alone for their own sanity. Might as well have posted their drivel before a ball was kicked because they are clueless to what actually happened on the pitch.

Was screening and covering space superbly with Carrick, intercepted and disposed players with strength, set up Rooney for a good chance.

He is not at his best but people saying we played with ten men and he cost us the game are a joke. Positionally he was much better, needs to improve on the ball but that will come with confidence.

Thought he was poor, passing was awful and for such a big lad he is poor in the air

So if we get a good result, we can't complain if a player is poor? ok great Lance.

Had some good moments. Needs to be more consistent at keeping possession, winning headers. He will improve.

What good moments did he have? I'm not sure if I seen a single one. It's another big game that he's failed to deliver and it's just not on if he wants to play a important role at a club that aspires win titles again and play at the highest level in Europe. He was worryingly out of his depth again against a big club tonight.

He's a weird one. There were a couple of moments where he looked like a player who could offer us something but then you see him losing aerial duels he really should be winning and wandering around looking aimless and lament that we chucked so much money for him.

Second time this season he's done that I can remember leading to a goal.

Crazy thing is I was showing my 7 year old Schweiny's goal against Arsenal where Carzola just lets him run by and explained how that should never happen, even at his age (ok a bit too much pressure on him) but, for Fellaini to let the same thing happen is just not on. I still think he will become better but, it's not the first time he's let this happen and he needs to learn to never let it happen again.

Yes this.

Can we thread ban idiots who hate him please?

we had half a defence vs the best team in the world, that beat Barca 5-0 this time last year in camp nou. we made more chance in the game than them. all very positive

He provided nothing good that Jones or Fletcher couldn't have provided, while at the same time offering less than nothing on the ball. It's fair enough to defend Fellaini when he receives unfair criticism (as he often does) but tonight he was way, way out of his depth and looked it. He can't start in this type of game, he isn't up to this level and never was.

Played his part in letting Bayern score

You thick cnuts will just slag him no matter what.

He was alright tonight.
He won 2/8 headers, was dispossed 3 times and had 4 turnovers of possession, and was at fault for their goal... He was shite and out of place as he has been in all games against good opposition.

On that, we rest our case, ladies and gentlemen of the jury.

Seriously, Fellaini was genuinely crap and he did not even try redeeming himself with more effort. If there was someone I really wanted to see off the pitch on our side, it was him.
