Newcastle United vs. Manchester United

Great play from Hernandez, Kagawa and Mata for the goal. Nice to see them in tandem.

Apart from the opening 20 minutes or so, this has probably been the best performance of the season to be honest. We've had a few good ones but we're looking very fluid going forward, strong defensively and some brilliant goals.

Put Mata behind the striker and he becomes a god, who knew?

Well, everyone....

Yet when Rooney and RVP are fit together again, Moyes probably won't have the balls to drop one of them and make them compete for the position up top. Mata is clearly the better player operating behind the striker.

now if we just had two proper CMs behind a trio of Mata, Kagawa and Januzaj, and Rooney upfront.
(And yeah a right back, a left back, a centreback..)

Smalling has looked good today. Be better off resting him for Bayern.

In saying that we shouldn't be praising a man who should have been sacked months ago? Yes.
I don't think you understand the role of the matchgoing fan, but carry on being foolish.

Really great to see us playing regularly with this 4-2-3-1 with our classy playmakers linking up behind the striker. Bodes well for next year if we keep this going.

Jose didn't have to sell Juan to pick up other players. Jose, who works for Roman, doesn't "have to" do anything.

To paraphrase Thucydides, Roman does what he wants, not what he must.

Roughly when Young went off injured...coincidence?

Just came home. 2-0 up? Great stuff. Is the result justified or are Newcastle just super shit?
Shit game all round, Newcastle seems nothing to play for and shit, 2 terrific goals from Mata. Kagawa, Mata playing good once again, Fellaini elbowing everybody again...

I don't think our fullbacks are instructed to move upfield. Don't see them going forward that much in this game

I don't think the role of the matchgoing fan is to try and solidify the position of a manager we all know isn't good enough out of some weird conception of loyalty.

Newcastle have been pretty heartless so far tbf.

Tiote's boots don't add gravitas to the Newcastle United brand.
