Liverpool

I dunno Saoirse. This gives Chelsea a feel good factor. They could have just brought confidence to Demba Ba and brought themselves a much needed boost.
Nah having the game at anfield sandwiched between two CL semis, plays right into your hands. Chelsea players already look spent.

I think you'll beat City. Chelsea was the game I thought you'd drop points in. But now, it really is falling all into place for you. If you don't win it this season you might not get a better chance for a long time.

They certainly won't get a better chance, they could easily drop a lot of places next year.

Hope for a 0-0 draw in the first leg. Then it's too tight for Mourinho to gamble.

Exactly. Lose against City & our match with Chelsea would be pretty meaningless. A draw wouldn't be brilliant, but we could still live in hope that our friends from across the park could do us a favour when they play at Goodison.
Nah feck that we are better this season with a win or bust attitude.

How serious is Hazard's injury ? Anyone heard ?

Hope he's OK for the World Cup.
Yeah but selfishly not to play against us or feature much in the remaining league games!!

Are you just going to camp out in this thread and discuss anything that pleases you?

See folks, they are the gyspies of the world of football forums.
Want some cheese with your whine?

No anyone left at that time can do as they please. I'll be throwing my radio in the bin and unsubscribing from my internet provider.

If the worst should happen I've got some good news & bad news for you.

Good news: My mate's wife works for the Samaritans, so I could give you her telephone number.

Bad news: She's a Liverpool supporter.

Jesus, if a dipper thinks I'm whining I must get it checked out.
haha I better step away from the brink here. I'm probably next on the volume control list!

Ban Barney's ability to use those smiley faces at the end of his posts. He's too happy.

People might disagree but to me he seems the type of player that Liverpool would previously have bought, but that was the Liverpool of 6-8th. If they want to be competing with City for titles then buying their rejects wont bridge that gap. Saying that, he'd be a decent squad player at RB and CB but not sure how much he'd improve them. They do need more depth, though, being in Europe next season.

The Lannisters are slaying the Starks one by one. Ned (Barney) has been captured. Joffrey (moses) slowly asserts his uncertain authority.

Sorry, too much Game of Thrones.

Being linked with Micah Richards. What's the overall opinion of this lad ? Looked a beast in his early years, but not developed the way I thought he might.

Would definitely take him for a reasonable fee. Perfect 'money ball'/Rodgers type signing if there ever was one.

You're 4th as is stands.
I'm happy with that. I was 8th last year but a solid performance has got me into the champions league places. A few more players and I could challenge for 1st.

Bags of pace and power but his reading of the game is ropey. Could develop into a good centre back I think but if it's a right back we're after I hope Seamus Coleman is looked at. Himself bombing down the right would be frightening.

Ironically buying a Chelsea reject has sent us on our way toward a potential title! :D

I do know what you mean though, I don't know if he'd be an massive upgrade on what we already have, however if he was cheap enough (£5-6m) he'd def be worth a punt as a squad player and would be a much more reliable stand in than Kolo!

I'm not sure. I think he is a young lad with a point to prove. Could be a very astute signing.

Mind you I thought Andy Carroll was the missing link............i was right just the wrong link

Very doubtful an Everton player would move to Liverpool, especially as both teams are doing so well.

They're talking about £7 million pound. Not bad for a youngish England lad I suppose. Maybe a change of club/manager could bring out the best of him again.
That's very low for a lad with good experience and his attributes. He's a long way from the finished article but maybe his stall at City will make him hungrier.

I've been posting on here for over 7 years & there's always been a highish amount of Liverpool supporters on here: Davo, Murphman, Sam, B9 (as he was known back then)NJRed, Dumpstar, MnM, myself, have been regular posters during a period when United were the best in the land. Now all of a sudden, there's too many of us.

I don't post nearly as much as I used to on LFC related threads, because the 'new breed' put down some very good points. So what's the difference between me putting down an opinion & one of the newish guys putting down something similar ? You still have the option of challenging it or moving on.
Same here. I don't post as much as a few years ago. united reaching 18 really changed things. But the banter is much softer now and supporters from both sides seem to get along and talk football. I suppose that is for the better, as it used to get heated with hatred seeping through the threads( me included).

They certainly won't get a better chance, they could easily drop a lot of places next year.

Any team could drop places next year but Liverpool are looking to be in a healthier state than most. I agree this is a great chance but but it's not necessarily last chance saloon and the notion that Liverpool will drop like a stone after a single year in the sun is more wishful thinking that logical, in my opinion. While City and Chelsea are in good shape the other big players are all in a state of relative flux or regression. They'll need to turn it around swiftly for Liverpool to "drop a lot of places".

So you saw this rise a lot of places? You were alone if so.

I think regardless of transfers Liverpool are punching above their weight while almost everyone else is having a poor season. If you factor in transfers I think that situation is only worse for Liverpool with United, Chelsea and City all likely to spend.
