Who here hopes United get spanked tonight?

So much of what United do publicly these days is coated in a veneer of PR gloss. I imagine, were Moyes to be fired, this wouldn't happen after an embrrassing defeat. Instead, it'd be dressed-up as "mutual consent" or something similar, at season's end, because he'd be taking over at Schalke or the like (as he might well have done were it not for SAF's unexpected offer to him).

It is always "mutual consent" these days apart from clubs run by the likes of Vincent Tan (who releases a trap door under the chair into a tank full of sharks).

Only to some posters...,
on another forum, i got the same reply and when i inquired about posters "objectivity". In the end the " objective posters" were all strongly opinionated about a particular issue....

Surely the objective evidence points to Moyes out for the reasons that have been discussed many times? There really is no tangible evidence that he will be the type of manager that United should expect.

:) ok i don't want to go through this again but I admit being a "non-objective"poster then.

Do you know what objectivity even means?

I'd be delighted if we lose all of our games left this season. Winning these games won't make a huge positive difference, but losing might get Moyes fired.

All in.

Anything to see the back of Moyes, I certainly won't lose any sleep if we lose all 5, even though I won't be cheering on the opposition...

It pains me to say this, but now the season is pretty much over for us, I would actually take a spanking from Everton if it meant he would be getting the sack the following morning.

Terrible thing to say about the team I love I know :(

I think its inevitable that we're gonna lose to Everton tbh.

I hope we get spanked by Everton tbh. Just to see the contrast between what an up and coming quality manager has done to Everton and what Moyes has done to United. Liverpool was atleast smart enough to swallow their pride and sack Hodgson. I'd rather have 1-2 low key transfers and a new manager than Moyes and a 100m+ transfer budget.

The important thing is that we either do well enough in these final games to give us a genuine sense of optimism, or do so badly that Moyes' fate is sealed. Either extreme would satisfy me in one way or another.

The worst case scenario would be to limp on with a few bad performances/results that are totally dispiriting yet not extreme enough to actually see Moyes fired. That would be a very bleak end to the season.

IMO, it's more likely that things/results will continue as they have been - a mixed batch of results & performances; this is emblematic of Moyes' reign thus far. 'Truth is, this isn't really good enough for Manchester United; but, sadly, it may well be good enough for the Glazers.

So you want our players to get beat ,so you can prove the point about Martinez?. This really is a new low.

I find it hard to cheer against United or the team or wanting the other team to win against us. Regardless whether it is Everton or Swansea or whatever.

Getting rid of Moyes would be the height of the season and maybe the best thing that can happen to United this season. I have no problem with fans, including me going at him at matches and banners, planes or whatever wanting him out.

However up until the end of the season I'd always want United to wine every game and achieve the highest position.

Being out of top 5 (most surely we will be), embarassed in the domestic cups and QF exit in CL, should be enough for the board to sack that clown. If not, I'd be surprised if we finish 6,7 or 8th will make a difference.

How about we spank Everton and play great football for the rest of the season. Of all the hypothetical situations, surely that is the ideal for any United supporter? Or maybe it's just me.

I think we've been a lot better recently. If we keep it up till the end of the season then I'll be happy.

It's not due to Moyes rather than playing Mata and Kagawa out of necessity with RvP sidelined.

The ideal situation is Moyes sacked after the final day of the season.

If we did all that and Moyes still gets sacked, that'd be nice.

If we did all that and as a result he stays, I'd rather we lose all 5.

If we lost all 5 and he still stays, at least I can vent my anger at the Glazers as well as Moyes.

So, for you it's best to lose no matter if he gets sacked or not as a result?

Actually, sorry, win all five and sack is the best, of course.

Wow we've played shit opponents and played some decent football. I don't care if I'm a shit supporter now or anything but Moyes needs to go and if that's what it takes then so be it. Moyes had his chance in January when we actually could've reached the top4 and blew it. We're playing for nothing and the only thing I want now is him being sacked.

I completely understand anyone with your opinion, but after witnessing what great managers have achieved this season (Rodgers, Klopp, Simeone) and what Moyes has done to us, I just want hope for the next season.

De Gea:

"There are still plenty of important games to play. We are Manchester United and it's our duty to win every game we take part in.

"That's what we'll try to do now because we want to finish as high as we can in the league, ensure we're playing in a European competition next season and show we are still around and that we will never give in."

De Gea is a winner, maybe he should be our manager with that attitude instead of our current inept one who's sole ambition seems to be "trying" and "hopefully make things hard for other teams".

City look like they'll only have a League Cup to show for this season and Moyes aspires to be at their level?

So lets reverse the situation....

Who would take a win 4-0 against Everton... but Moyes stays?

Does anyone who didn't before, understand now why some people would take a loss to see him out of the club?

He was gone at the end of the season regardless. The Glazers waited for Top 4 to become mathematically impossible so that they could sack him without paying five years severance.

I would take the 4-0 since it would have been our best performance of the season and something we can build on.

Expect a lot of people to prove what great fans they are by saying yes.

As it happens it appears that it wouldn't have made any difference, Moyes was a dead man walking as it was according to some of the more reliable journalists.

Im glad hes gone. No more of such pathetic choices. Wanting United to lose becasue you want the.manger out is just sad. And yes i wanted him out at all cost.

A large element of our fan base are spoilt brats who have only ever known success.

They won't support the team through tough times, they'd prefer to see us lose and just keep buying new players and managers until we win again.

It's a sad state of affairs and I for one am sorry that Ferguson has to see this after his life's work.

I really think there's a confusion between supporting the team and having a total disconnect with the manager. I think it's entirely possible to back the players 100% but not the manager. Is that not still supporting the team? We have been spoilt by having Ferguson but that doesn't mean it's wrong to want to continue his success. If it was still the 90s I don't think fan reaction to Moyes would be so bad but there's so much at stake now it's just not feasible to allow him time if cannot be moderately successful in that time.
