Disappointed Young starts, would much prefer anyone else.

Good to see Hernandez start.

I wish he'd drop Rio and dampen the contract talks etc. Rio needs to be shown the door.

The fact that he has a clause in his contract that says if you don't play him X amount of minutes in a season he gets a four-year extension.

If Giggs isn't getting the job, which seems the case, then he may feel it is just his job to get us as high as he can. The new managers responsibility will be to blood kids, if he wants to. If we get Europa League, Giggs is making a case for himself to be kept on the coaching/management staff by the new guy.

I just wish I could understand what successive mangers see in Ashley Young

Jesus. Are you lot for real? It isn't a case of "seeing anything" in anybody. Giggs, in his first two games, like Ferguson would and did to our admitted detriment, is playing as many players as he can out of fairness. Young, like Nani, Fletcher, Mata and Hernandez, start today because they didn't last week.

Fellaini, Smalling and Januzaj will start in our next game, just watch. Kagawa will probably come back in, too. Like a latter era Ferguson, this is so, so predictable, yet you're getting wound up by it?

He's a decent player - links well with the full back, good eye for a through ball, works hard and a danger cutting in from the flank. His movement is usually pretty intelligent too. He's not an exciting player to watch though, and the theatrics are irritating.

Shinji not even in the squad. Young starting.

Sack Giggs! Or sell him.

Why all the hatred for Rio? I don't get it, he's not even been that bad this season, when he's not been overplayed. He had a good game last week and was very good against Bayern too. He's clearly not finished, although he shouldn't be starting it's not like Jones in particular has covered himself in glory at CB. With all the experience that we're losing, I don't get why you would willingly discard his 12 years of experience here and he's clearly a loved member of the dressing room. He'd be our captain right now if his back wasn't fecked.

I share people's feelings on that defence, I would rather the younger players played there, but I understand why he sticks with Rio and Vidic. He doesn't have much to lose and it's not his job to build for the future. Glad to see Mata back starting, hopefully the promise of his partnership with Hernandez from last week is fulfilled this week. I'd expect to see Van Persie off the bench at some stage too.

Don't be surprised if Sunderland beat us; they beat Chelsea and drew with City in the last 3 games.

Because he's not good enough nowadays? It's the classic argument for playing Giggs, too. One good game out of every 5-10 does not justify keeping a player on indefinitely due to their ..."experience", especially when all the combined experience of Giggs, Ferdinand, Vidic, Carrick, Fletcher, Evra et al has carried us to a magnificent 7th place.

We actually could still catch Everton and finish 5th if we win all our games, City and Hull away aren't easy games for them.

Fecking hell no Januzaj, no Kagawa, no Smalling in the lineup, all players that haven an important future at the club, but no keep playing Vidic who'll be off to Inter after the season and keep fecking around with Ferdinand and Young aswell...

Is it so much to ask to alteast give these players a run out in the last couple of games ?

I don't know what all the fuss is about. We need a result today and Giggs and co. have decided this is the team that can keep our European hopes alive. Those not featured today will most likely get a prominent role on Tuesday. It's called squad management.

As fans, I feel we've spent the season enduring Moyes' brand of football. Ryan Giggs could give us something more than a win, that's a win with the players we like. Starting Young over Januzaj and excluding Kagawa from the entire squad goes against this.

How many times do we need to see Fletcher and Carrick together to know they don't work together. Static crap football.

From that MEN article:

'They were staying their ahead of the match at Old Trafford this afternoon.'

I not exactly a stickler for grammar or spelling, but you'd expect someone writing for a paper to know the difference between their and there.

Hope Ashley Young has a good game, I can't stand how much abuse he gets from our fans at times.

He had a good game last week, and was very good against Bayern. He was in the team of the year last season. He's not suddenly become a conference player. If he had been making some of the mistakes that Jones/Smalling/Evans have been making this season, he'd have been slaughtered. If you remember, the last game Jones was playing at centre back, he was at fault for two goals.

What are you even trying to say, that because we've done badly this season we should get rid of our experienced players? Nothing to do with Moyes' incompetence or a lack of recruitment over the summer? See Arsenal for a team that got rid of too many experienced players too quickly and have become a bunch of spineless girls.

Kagawa getting stomach pumped again
