Moyes defended eh! There's really no need for that. He's gone and good ridden. Period

I was responding to someone else. But yeah, let's forget a period of our history where the players are also culpable for the shite football we've played shall we?. There needs to be acceptance in this forum that it wasn't all Moyes. Yes, he buckled under the mantle of manager at OT. But, he was not helped out by his players too much as well. There needs to be consensus on that.

It's ridiculous to have a go at Young with the way Carrick.Fletcher, Nani and Hernandez have performed

People moan and complain about Rooney but it's games like this today when he isn't playing that you realise just how important he is.

Fletcher, Young and Hernandez have been poor. Out best moments have come through Mata and Nani. Final ball, whoever it's been with it, has been shocking though. Would like to see Welbeck for Young and Hernandez for RVP at HT but we'll probably only see one change if at all..

It says a lot that the best deliveries from our right hand side came from Javier Hernandez. Our crossing has been woeful today. Young and Nani have got into good positions but their final ball has been ridiculously bad. In centre midfield everything is so slow. Carrick and Fletcher both look like they want to take 3 or 4 touches to move the ball. The lack of pace in our football is letting Sunderland get set to absorb our attacks with ease. Apart from in the final seconds of the half I don't remember seeing Sunderland players having to race back into their defensive lines to stop a quick United attack. Its been poor and we can't even blame Moyes for it.

We rarely have our CMs run at the defence, they are so lethargic.

In the second half we need pace and power so I think Welbeck and Januzaj should be on. Take off Carrick or Fletcher for RVP, leave the other one to sit and go 4132. Carrick doesn't need to be involved in the attack so can sit back and cover the defence.

He's unreactive, slow and his passing isn't great.
Up to last season he was one of the best passers of the ball. Today he's misplaced passes I would make and I only play on Sundays as a hobby. That pass from Jones to Carrick wasn't Jones' fault, it was Carrick's. He passed it in front of him and he just didn't move towards the ball.

Which hopefully proves to the GiggsIn crowd that he's not ready yet. Giving him the United job is a massive risk imo.

It's not a massive risk. It's just plain wrong and dreadfully reading the situation and the needs of the team and club.

Luckily, it's not happening.

The players are clearly not good enough..
Bring Moyes back.

Carrick and Fletcher are the worst. There's nothing happening with them. They just stand there in midfield, not bringing the ball forward.

I agree but they are still better than the rest of what we have that's how bad it has got with our centre mids!!

I hope we get van Gaal, I really do, because our whole style and team needs a complete shake up this summer and he's far more likely to do it than most.

Carrick and Fletcher, showing why we realistically need to sign more than 2 central midfielders in the summer.

Poor half.

We play 2 winger when we have 0 of United quality.

We need new ideas, cant wait for next season.

Complete reliance on creating from wide like usual. At least Young put in 2 or 3 dangerous crosses and Carrick another couple.

Young had 10 crosses that half

Lack of midfielders who can actually turn and run on the ball shows itself once again.
No manager (minus Sir Alex) will do anything worthwhile without at least two midfielders this summer.

Such poor balance to this side.

I really hope we replace our entire midfield this summer. None of them should be consistent starters for United. Not even Carrick.

Carrick and Fletcher are the worst. There's nothing happening with them. They just stand there in midfield, not bringing the ball forward.

I agree that they've been just as poor. Our lack of options in the middle mean we have to keep them on, I don't see Fellani changing our game for the better. Its not like we need him for the crosses when none of them beat the first fecking man

Has Chica been getting much service?
Not really mate. He's been getting into some good positions in the box but our crossing as usual has been pretty awful.

He's dropped deep a few times and his touch has been rather erratic too.

Think Rio has done alright today. Thought he would easily get outpaced v Wickham but won that race and looked calm as usual on the ball. Carrick poor and well we all know about Young. Hope we see Januzaj.

This is an typical Ferguson performance from the later years. Attacking but one-dimensional, leaving absolutely everything to the wingers and then wondering why they fail.

I pray our football is revolutionised by Van Gaal. It desperately needs to happen.

Carrick and Fletcher have just ignored Mata for 45 minutes.

The CM's have all the time in the world on the ball but don't have a creative bone in their body. Pass wide to full back or winger. Shit cross. Reps until failure.

Clowns in defence for the first goal, all three of Carrick, Vidić and Rio. Stood there like idiots.

Young is pathetic, Carrick is aspiring to reach Young's level pretty hard today, Nani's doing feck all.

It's ridiculous to have a go at Young with the way Carrick.Fletcher, Nani and Hernandez have performed

How had Hernandez performed? He's done well all things considered. Agreed on the rest. Young is shit but he's not been our worst player this match, that honour goes to Micheal Carrick.

Young has been one of our better performers, finally looking like his Villa days again. Nani has been gash ever since he's been handed his undeserved new contract.

At this point I would play 3 in midfield - kagawa mata and carrick. This whole old school 442 shit witg wingers hasnt worked for us this seaskon so why camt we just change it up instead of playing rubbish players?
I'd like to see it but I'm not sure even that would work. Who would play as part of the front 3 anyway given Rooney apparently won't play out wide? The issues are partially tactical but mostly down to us not having enough good players, we don't have 1 midfielder performing well enough never mind 2 or 3.

I agree but they are still better than the rest of what we have that's how bad it has got with our centre mids!!
Individually perhaps but pairing them together offers us nothing going up front. Add Jones as the right back, Young on one wing and a seriously out of form Nani on the other and the result has been this first half.

Why we persist with crossing when our wingers have been poor for the entire season is beyond me. It's terribly dire.

Utter fecking shite, we need to get away from this prehistoric wing play rubbish when we clearly have no winger who can do a job.
Exactly, we are obsessed with United playing with wingers, then make sure you have wingers of quality, not just two guys who can run a bit quick.

I hope we get van Gaal, I really do, because our whole style and team needs a complete shake up this summer and he's far more likely to do it than most.

Yep.

But but, what about the "United way".
