Film The Movies I want to see thread

The Dark Knight Rises contained some truly terrible dialogue. I'm looking forward to hearing Hans Zimmer's The Thin Red Line, Inception and 12 Years a Slave score yet again.

Tbf, there's two situations: one where he re uses exactly the same music in two films (12 years had a theme that was just ripped out of Inception, it worked for me but it was a bit weird), and others where the style is similar. He's probably the guy who's been involved with the most movie scores, it's not inherently shocking that you would find similarities between a few of them. Yeah I get what you mean, but I'm a bit of a sucker for a good Zimmer score, so there you go :D

It's also why his scores are the blandest of bland. I guess most directors don't really care about the recycling as the scores appeal to the masses who probably don't notice it. It almost ruined The Thin Red Line for me when I rewatched it recently as the Inception score played during a crucial moment.

Hans Zimmer used to be cool. Remember the Going For Gold theme? Here it is for those who dont

Yes. Hans Zimmer wrote this

He's done loads of excellent stuff, let's not re-write cinema history! I agree to a certain extent with what Nilsson says, though I'm somewhat less annoyed by it, as I quite like his style. It does become a tad caricatural at times though, sure.

This became such a cult hit scene that "to me it was Tuesday" phrase was implemented into M.Bison's taunt in Street Fighter X Tekken the video game.

This isn't very good at all. Ending was a huge disappointment.

It's got everything alright. Spent a month in Samoa once. Really lovely people. Sports mad too (although mainly rugby). Plus the grizzled dutch coach couldn't look better if he'd been recruited by a casting agent.

A film in which Timothy Spall spends most of his time grinning at people telling him he's a genius and frowning at those who say he's crap. What's not to like?

Weird ass trailer coming from Nolan. I preferred the first teaser which had better voice over. The Michael Caine voice over here is just weird/stupid. Hope to be proven wrong though!

Looks great, nice to watch a trailer that doesn't spoil half the plot or show too much.
