Liverpool

Just saw the 5 year net spend on the previous page. Under £100m compared to half a billion. Seriously! You guys are really, really not seeing this? Bunch of Wengers!:wenger:

So what? Take out City/Chelsea and you spend as much as anybody.

We've spent about as much as Villa over the past 5 seasons. Should they be challenging for the title too ?
You've spent, by any reasonable definition of the word, more than Manchester United have in the past 5 seasons. Almost double what Villa have.

The one area that ourselves, United, & Villa, are all equal, is that we've all had the same opportunities to sell players in order to improve, & progress, our respective sides. Liverpool have done to that - mainly thanks to our current manager - to great effect over recent years. So we can debate gross & net spend until the cows come home (not like it hasn't already been done). But the league table clearly shows, that pound for pound, our spending, not to say our football, has been better than most under Brendan Rodgers.

And you've challenged for the title once (and lost it seems) in that time. Were the ones whose net spend over the last decade isn't huge and yet we've won shitloads.

That's because you've had the best manager in the world in charge. I'd say there's more than a good chance that over the next few seasons your spending will dwarf what we've spent over the past 10 years. Whether or not you'll do any better than us success-wise remains to be seen though.

A great manager is far more important than having tons of cash to splash. But I suspect you knew that anyway.

The last time West Ham played away on the final day they beat United 1-0.

4 of City's 6 defeats have come on Sunday.

Andy Caz has scored more goals against City than anyone else.

Last time Leicester won the championship, we won the football league.

Last time Steven Gerrard won the league.....oh wait.

FFS West Ham causing issues for City at the Etihad with a league championship on the line.

They were fighting to stay up.
Also that west ham team had a better manager than the current one.

After the way this seasons played out it honestly wouldn't even shock me that much if Liverpool win their game and City lose at home to West Ham. Highly unlikely yes but it could happen just to top off our miserable season. Hopefully City won't bottle it but would hardly be that surprising if there was one final twist.

I wouldn't be overly surprised either, I still can't shake the feeling that Liverpool are gonna pull this one off to be honest.

And United were already champions anyway, United put out a weak side.

We barely tried. We had won the league and were resting players for the Fa cup final.

Horrible isn't it? I don't think they will but it's just that niggling feeling that there's one final sting in the tail to make us all hate this season even more. Will feel a lot better if City go in leading at half time but it just wouldn't surprise me to see West Ham pull off the miracle result Liverpool need.

As hilarious as the Palace capitulation was, I still can't trust City to not bottle it.

Leicester have never won the 'championship'

I know the feeling.

This season has been famous for two (partly related) things: Surprising twists and turns at the top and gruesome levels of agony for United fans. I'm fully expecting a continuation of both themes to be honest, and the £150 I'll win when West Ham beat City will be scant consolation.

I envision City smashing West Ham just like Chelsea did on that final matchday against Wigan. Maybe not by a similar scoreline but wouldn't surprise me, and I thoroughly expect, for City to score 3-5 goals. The floodgates will open if and when City take the lead, just like the Villa match.

I'd absolutely love it if Hart gets sent off for a violent challenge and later on Demichelis gets sent off for a second yellow. Caroll and Downing both brace and trounce City 4-0.

...only for Gerrard to slip during a penalty kick and the Liverpool - Newcastle match ends 0-0.

I don't want any of these fanfictions where City lose to be reality. City to be 2 up inside 10 minutes and I'll be grand.

Wouldn't it be funny if Liverpool won it in the end !

No. Even if City lost it in the last seconds that fleeting moment of joy would soon be swallowed by the enormous shrouds of gloom which accompanied Steven "No, play Phil Collins you bastard or I'll deck you" Gerrard and Rat Boy getting their hands on Giggsy's trophy.

Er, yes?

Try reading up the thread before responding and making yourself look a tit.

I've not just been reading up on it sunshine, I've also contributed to it. Unlike you, a johnny come lately smart-arse, who's picked up on a trivial, irrelevant, little point & tried to make a big thing out of it. If you'd gone back a bit further you'd have seen I advised Barney to edit his piece about us winning the PL because I knew it would attract some dick who'd make a meal of it. & hey presto, up you come.

Stick to the United forum pal & leave this stuff to the adults.

I love you Scousers when you're bitter. You just take it all so badly.
