Other than a good early start, we've struggled to keep the ball and have been on the back foot since Chelsea scored their goal. They look more confident, and we look nervous.

The Chelsea forwards' movement is causing us to get outnumbered in midfield. Pearson and Ekangamene are over-committing to the central midfielders whilst the wide players cut in and make use of all of that space. Our central midfielders are afraid to commit forward as a result, and we've struggled to do much with most of our players unwilling to push forward on the attack.

Joyce needs to bring back the confidence that got us that 1st goal. Tell Amos to not hoof the ball forward all the time. Tell our players to express themselves more.

So far, Chelsea will look likely to win this match. They're playing with more confidence and keeping more of the ball. We, on the other hand, struggle to keep the ball without hoofing it forward or losing it from a dribble.

On the bright side, I really love McNair. He's so good at carrying the ball out forward. There's so much confidence oozing out of him whenever he carries the ball forward. Same with Michael Keane, too. He's not too shabby on the ball, as well.

I read the EL final is boring so i think i will keep watching this one. I want the youngsters to win it.
 
I am surprised that so many seem to clamouring for Varela to play for the first team. He plays with his head down, never looks inside and seems rash. The formation confuses me too. Surely Pereira should be in the number 10 role with Lawrence on the wing. Lawrence has the skill set for a winger and Pereira the skill set for a number 10. I think the lack of control in the middle is the problem. Person has been OK, Ekangamene looks off the pace whilst Lawrence, aside from the goal, has not really worked the number 10 position very well. Pereira looks wasted out there on the wing, he has the close control and is comfortable in tight spaces.

We are actually playing like the first team and looking for the easy but difficult out ball down the right. I am not impressed with Amos's distribution either, he takes too long on the ball. Surely we need to push up in the second half and gamble a bit more. Chelsea are being afforded too much control.

I agree about varela. His head his glued to his shoe laces.
 
Yes Chelsea's midfield looks a lot more organised (partly due to Pearson not having Rothwell next to him like he's used to) and since the goal we haven't found too much success creating openings, Chelsea clearly on top - which was to be expected
 
Happy enough with the score tbf. We've been a stronger team in the 2nd half quite a lot this season, Fitness being one of the reasons.... Joyce is a bit of a nutball for it by all accounts.

Wilson hasnt had a sniff either, he'll get a chance at some stage im sure...
