The deal to make Louis Van Gaal the new United manager could be confirmed today. We'll hear from the man himself #SSN

I find it very hard to believe Woodward didn't give Bryan Swanson a world exclusive piece of information like that.

Something is not right.
I wouldn't worry about it. He may have something to say in a couple of hours time. This just means everything isn't confirmed yet.

Sky are full of shit. Chasing the guy down the street. What they actually mean is they're repeat their dumbass attempts to get him to say something. It was shown 10 minutes ago. That's all they mean. Sky Sports news have zero credibility.

Oh thanks for clearing that up, it's all awfully confusing.

De Telegraaf - Ryan Giggs discussed the youth with LVG

Ryan Giggs and Louis van Gaal yesterday briefed on a number of key issues around the first team and the most talented youth of Manchester United. The Welsh striker seems to be the first assistant of Van Gaal to go. Giggs came before to Noordwijk, where on his day he met Van Gaal. In the afternoon, he again took the plane back to Manchester, so he was back in time for the finals of the under-21 team against Chelsea under 21.

Van Gaal told Giggs how he wants to work and in turn Giggs told about the talents that arrive at United next season. Some of those players, Tom Lawrence (20) and James Wilson (18), he let himself debut last week.

Important info:

Van Gaal wants to Manchester invest heavily in young players, so know the chief Ed Woodward. The latter has today around noon important information for shareholders on United

Having van Gaal putting faith in youth is a good thing, but we need serious investment in out youth setup to support his desire to compete with the behemoth of a youth centre City are building.

It's seems that Woody will advise the shareholders/NYSE around lunchtime that LVG is to be appointed and we'll hear shortly after that.

Is there a source, or are you basing that on past experiences with companies on the market?

The way it's going at the minute with City & United, it reminds me of Rocky IV with Drago (City) being trained using all the latest technology, knocking down everything in his path. Rocky (United), a once great champion, trains using old methods. Maybe it will end the same way with us beating City, with all their fancy gadgets!

I think that's what the article is saying. LVG and Ed want to invest in the youth, which is great news long term.

This usually what happens with PLCs on the stock market. They inform the relevant stock exchange ie NYSE, LSE, if there is any changes made to the company. So they would need to inform the stock exchange first before making it public knowledge.

Woody has a meeting with shareholders/NYSE later on today regarding United's quarterly results so the announcement will be made to them and then to us.

That seems likely, I hope it gets done today.

In other words "we've never known when it was going to be announced and we're now just covering our backsides".

Thought of it as more like

"we had no idea when the announcement was so we were speculating but now were pretty sure it'll be next week, I think"

This is golden. Exactly what some of the more realistic/pessimistic posters have said last night (they were probably half jesting as well)... next week it is

I was all prepared for van Gaal day.

Oh FFS! We all know it's happening, just announce already! If it was anyone else I would rubbish it but it's Ogden, so most likely it's true.

Feck sake! 2 minutes after I was confident that they would make it official after announcing their quarterly figures, they go and post that!

Saying that, he is already working with Woody/Giggs behind the scenes on current squad, youth players and potential transfer comings/goings so, even though it's not official, he'll still be working away on how to get our great club back to where it should be.

Aye, he is the one person that has been spot on about us of late. I wonder if the meeting with giggs didn't go as smooth as hoped?

Telegraph, The Times & The Independent all reporting it will be next week. Well that's that then!

Didn't they all report that it will be this week?. I think they don't have a feckin clue and just speculating.

Ed doing more of his briefings, hey?

With us bidding for Shaw, clearing Woods and Neville, sending Giggs to talk to Van Gaal, I'm not really bothered by the timing of the official announcement. Seems like things are rolling. Fine.

Can't help but laugh at all this. I was so sure it would happen today. Worst kept secret in football.

Man, this is getting tiresome. What's going to happen in regards to transfers then? Is Van Gaal giving Woody a wishlist? If this is further away than suggested then we could miss out on players as well.
