At this rate we'll have the "Sack Watch" thread by dinner time.

He's so good he even gets 100% in opinion polls...

Ban anyone that votes no or undecided. No point in doing things half arsed, let's go full RAWK.

Edit: @C.M.P has voted no. Get him!!!!!!!

So come on Lou Van Gaal,
Play like Moyes' pals,
We'll go wild wild wild,
We'll go wild wild wild.

You know it's big news when even Scott Mills stops his radio show to say "news flash" and then proceed to the LVG news.

Need to change the title if we are going full Rawk.

Aloysius Paulus Maria van Gaal So far.

Louis van Gaal said: "It was always a wish for me to work in the Premier League. To work as a manager for Manchester United, the biggest club in the world, makes me very proud. I have managed in games at Old Trafford before and know what an incredible arena Old Trafford is and how passionate and knowledgeable the fans are. This club has big ambitions; I too have big ambitions. Together I'm sure we will make history."

thank feck i didnt see "try" in that sentence.

Is anyone watching the sky sports news compilation they have at the Dutch training ground? He just done some whacky dance and was tapping Huntelaar's head.

Here comes the bad news:

This made me laugh, you have to laugh, right?

Wov, really surprised and happy about this, tbh I didn't see it coming..

On a more serious note, GET IN!! :D

As for LVG so far, so far so good.

I read an article this morning saying he's already made Toni Valencia a better player

This despite never working with him, in fact they were giving Val Gaal credit for Valencia playing well AGAINST Van Gaal's side. :wenger:

Important he is not pressured to make Giggs asst manager. Simply because he is a legend on the pitch does not mean Giggs will be a successful coach or assistant.

I'd rather Van Gaal chooses his own staff as previously he has had a winning formula.

Edit: Giggs named. Lets hope it works.
I don't think Van Gaal has been pressured into making such a decision. I don't see him as that type of guy. Unrelated to your post: Giggs obviously still has lots to learn. There's an argument to be made that he acquired a lot of knowledge under Fergie in regards to tactics, but I don't think that's enough, and that's down to the way we have set up against Sunderland. It might be unfair, but it's not the right time to "experiment". At least he will engage with the team more and learn new structures under a different philosophy, which is great education. IMO this is the right move for Giggs.

Makes me want to simultaneously laugh and cry. What was Fergie thinking.
It has made Van Gaal's job considerably easier though, at least pressure wise.

If he never said anything other than "I expect us to win" in his press conferences you'd still have some of our more simple-minded fans getting excited after the dreary stuff Moyes came out with.

As excited as I am about the appointment, we can't forget that he still has a pretty big task ahead of him. This squad needs clearing out and I hope that we bring in the right players. Sooner the bloody better too.

Has this been posted before?

It's an insight into van Gaal's philosophy.
This is excellent. Thanks for sharing.

He's the best available candidate. I do think the World Cup is a hindrance to a certain extent, but his authoritative approach makes up for it. As for his relationship with Van Persie, did he not drop him from the Holland first team when he was playing poorly? The big difference, which is somewhat overlooked, is how he'll value the rest of the squad. He certainly won't take Moyes' approach.

Let's get completely ahead of ourselves. What do you want most from his time here? A return to attacking football? Back to the top of English football? An insistence on bringing through the promising youth we have?

It sounds obvious, but for me the CL is the ultimate, and while it may be a long shot given he's here for an initial 3 years and we're not even in it next season, it would be the sweetest way to announce that life does indeed continue post-Fergie. It's been 6 years and the two final defeats still hurt.

The Oranje One.

Can Holland just get knocked out of the WC already? We need our boss signing our new shiny tiki taka toys
