That sounds reasonable. Still, if that's the reason they'd go as far as letting him leave, I wonder how other star players have agreed to remain on the wages they're on. Amazing how the club manages to hold on to their star players despite this wage structure.
They basically don't want to give Kroos 250k because then the other players will start demanding it. I believe Martinez took a paycut from Bilbao to join Bayern.

They have a wage structure, however isn't Kroos demanding to be one of the top earners and not a specific sum? I.E there are some players at Bayern on really good deals and Kroos wants to be matched with them? So the sticking point being players like Robben/Ribery & Schweinsteiger are on more than what Kroos is being offered? Thats the way I understood it but I may be wrong...
It sounds to me that Kroos' people are happy to let it be known they're relaxed about taking it though to the end of his contract.

and before anyone says he is just a mercenary. What he wants to earn is believed to be in the region of 9-10m€... That's in the 150k region, what is a fair price for player his calibre these days, while Bayern won't offer more than 7-8m€ which players like Thiago and Müller earn.
