Arturo Vidal

So we´ve just signed a sponsorship deal with Adidas worth 750 million pounds.

David feckin Luiz went to PSG for 50 million or so.

Why on earth would Juve only ask 35 million for Vidal and why on earth wouldn´t we have the money for that deal? I think it's way more likely that they asked roughly 50 million for him and that we are trying to negotiate. But then again, I don't even know how intersted we are. Fascinating times.

One question, Evra still hasn't signed for Juventus, why? It's very clear that something is happening and United are playing hard ball [whether this is a good idea remains to be seen] but Evra was supposed to have been announced as a Juventus player since last week but it hasn't happened until now, I assume there's definitely interest, whether he will be signed remains to be seen.

Which works, we can now focus on Gustavo, our real target.

I'd much rather have Vidal obviously but Gustavo wouldn't be a bad second prize. As long as he shaves that moustache off mind, can't have someone here running about looking like little Richard.

Still think we'll get Vidal though. Van Gaal obviously rates him highly and he seems open to the move, we should sort the fee out eventually you'd expect.

Louis Van Gaal doesn't care about the press, he'll do what's right for the club. Reckon we'll sign Vidal this summer or Strootman in January. We don't know what's going on but Van Gaal will sort this lot out.

Why are you guys listening to Daily Mail? They confirmed twice that Toni Kroos was a done deal.

24 hours ago they said that Vidal was moments away from being signed. They are full of shite like most newspapers.

Good about time we started we are always getting turned over with the price we sell players for, if they won't reduce the Vidal price they can over pay on Evra.

Multiple papers reporting the same thing this time of the day means one thing only.

Herrera, Kroos, Fergie retiring and firing of Moyes comes to mind immediately.

what papers are saying it? I thought it was just the Daily Fail saying we wouldn't pay £34m for him (which is utter nonsense if you ask me)

people you do realize the daily mail, metro, bleacher report and loads others, view this forum and read all the comments. They then go and write absolute shite so that we will click onto their shite website and their shite adverts will be sub consciously imprinted into our shite minds. They are playing with us

There's no way we're balking at a 34m fee for Vidal. He's worth 50m in today's market, 34m would be a steal. It's just journos in the dark, which has been the case regarding all the normally reliable ones (of which neither the Daily Mail nor Mike Keegan are included) making things up because they don't have a clue.

We may buy Vidal, or we may not for a whole host of factors. But there's no chance in hell we've been put off by a low 30m asking price.

Not really. That was all the reliable papers like Telegraph, guardian, sky and bbc. This is Daily mail writing the completely opposite story to what the exact same journalist wrote 45 minutes before (he said we were very close for a deal to be agreed pretty much), and then even worse papers like Star, Express and Mirror copying that very report.

Basically, they know feck all. The thing that we know is true is that Vidal gave that interview the other day that pretty much confirmed our interest, along with LvG being a known admirer.

I think its a standard negotiation tactic with club briefing media to bring his price down.

Nonetheless meltdown here has been hillarious and its staggering many people buy into talk of us baulking at the reported figure mentioned.

We already bought Herrera for similar money. We're not running away from the negotiating table at the mention of 34 million for Vidal. Don't be stupid, guys.

You do realise that papers pretty much always copy stories off each other without fact checking? Once one of them prints something, the others print it too. Particularly with the tabloids. They'd rather be wrong with everyone else and be able to brush it under the carpet, than miss out on a scoop.

Can't speak Spanish but Manchester United is mentioned in there. Has this been posted yet? Don't even know how old it is.

£34m is a bargain for Vidal so I imagine if that is the price the deal will be done very soon.

The papers don't have a clue and are spouting absolute shite. The supposed reason why Juventus are selling is because they need money to fund the other transfers.

And they are willing to see their most valuable player for a price less than we paid for a Chelsea reject?????. It defies logic. I mean 34Million is almost close to what we paid for an unproven LB.

I like the moustache. I wish more players had one.

With the possible vidal deal off, what you gonna do? when cleverly anderson and young runs wild on YOUUUUUU

If we did, it has more to do with bad reports over his knee. I think its legit that we contacted the docs in Chile (it was Chile's most legit paper that reported we were asking them about it). Bad reports on his knee could be the only thing to make United think 34m is a dealbreaker.

If his knee is a problem, mr sami khedira would be a good signing

Not at all. Here's a breakdown.

If the Daily Mail, Daily Express, Daily Star, Mirror or other assorted shite say something, ignore. They have no idea.

If Ogden, Ducker, Taylor all say something simultaneously, it means Woodward has briefed them. Fwiw, imo that doesn't necessarily mean its true, but just what the club is reporting.

On their own, any of the above three are fairly reliable.

If Andy Mitten says something, its true.

File Ian Ladyman and Mike Keegan somewhere in between the Odgen, Ducker, Taylor triumvirate, and the Daily Mail.

I know, if it's true i just can't believe it.

There's not many players around the caliber of Vidal, certainly not available and certainly not for £34m and were fecking around :wenger:

I'm sick of us snooping through the bargain basket trying to find a tinted tin of baked beans or Tesco's own brand, treat yourself to some Heinz you tight bastards.

You posted the same embarrassing shite in the Sanchez thread, just changed the names. It's fecking cringeworthy.

Report me if you want, I'll point out to them how pathetic and cringeworthy you are too. You're like a fecking spoilt child, stamping your feet because you aren't getting your own way. Grow up.

You got banned for this?

You watch this space. Vidal will be a United player before United head out on tour. Wouldn't pay attention to anything mentioning fees in the 30 million region for Vidal. We'll have to pay over 40 mil for him and I suspect we will. If his knees a problem, that will be the reason given when we don't sign him, so as not to baffle the fans.

I think they have been briefed regarding this here as 4/5 of them together reporting round about the same thing together though figures might be slightly different. Who knows what else Juve want.

Seems a negotiation tactic for me of some sort that we won't overpay and after buying Shaw and herrera for 29 million and signing a new kit deal.

If we are talking figures with Juve then i'd expect it to be done. But that is not clear at the moment.

If I was united, I would go all out on mr pogba, for age possible potential, he would be that guy. Plus he would love to play under a manager like LVG

If we really have pulled out because we don't want to pay £34 million then this club has become an utter fecking joke.

Why the hell would be brief journos supposedly that 34 million was too much unless it is a negotiating tactic ?

Surely we would take Juve demanding 50 million or we never really wanted him/want someone else line.

It's the interview we've been hearing about lately on Twitter. "Who wouldn't want to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world", "happy for Alexis" and so on.

only scenario where I can see the no to £34m being true is if we want him AND Pogba and they are asking ALOT for Pogba & we won't pay that much ON TOP for Vidal, it's a long shot but if that's what we are planning then I would understand it, otherwise I see no reason at all we would say no to Vidal at £34m

Of course we haven't. If we have pulled out, that is absolutely not the reason and I won't believe our interest is over until LVG arrives in Manchester and mentions it in his press conference, which is soon, so not long to wait.
