Arturo Vidal

As a United fan we love to think its because Vidal is on his way and Conte was against it. However in reality, no one has a clue.

No-one ever REALLY has a clue until the deal is done and the yellow ticker is scrolling across Sky Sports News stating it's a done deal.

Transfers are lengthy, complicated affairs at the best of times.

IF this happens, it will have been worth the sweat, blood and tears.

Does anyone here speak Italian? There was a video of Conte explaining his resignation. Not sure if it included anything good but here it is.

Reporters contradicting themselves over and over again, United probably briefing false information to stick one to the journalists or just denying everything until things are official (smart), Conte resigning after he recently said something like he would quit if one of Vidal or Pogba got sold, Sport Witness saying earlier today that Conte wants to strengthen but under no circumstance will the big names be sold, Juventus on the other hand want to balance the books and sell Vidal, so there could be trouble (and a few hours later, he resigns). Gazzeta Dello Sport saying we agreed a deal of around 44m euros as well with them.

In other words, it's on

Thanks buddy. Holy smokes, if this happens it'll be the most excited I've been for a transfer in years.

wow, 3 hours gone and 20+ pages. There must be something then.

Why the hell Conte resigned any info regarding this?
Apparently he said that if one of the big names get sold against his will (Vidal or pogba) then he will resign. Now reports say it's because of transfer strategy that he resigned. Put 2 and 2 together...

But if it doesn't? :(:(:(

I've done a quick tour of the Spanish mob - AS, Marca, MD, Sport and a few other gossip sites. Summarising they say, Conte wanted a player like Di Maria, Cuadrado or Sanchez and when he realised that not only wasn't he getting them, he was losing Vidal he decided to give up on his Juve project. Vidal is described as "getting closer to United" with no other teams being mentioned.

They think the main negotiator/go between is Vidal's agent and that Vidal's agent is not looking for other buyers.
This would make a lot of sense with the British press getting word that we haven't made contact with Juve.

With Juve fans in melt down with Conte's resignation it would make things alot worse for the Juve President Morata if United leaked they were negotiating for Vidal. Don't want to piss them off.

If it doesn't it will mean we're going to bring in a different player. There's no way in hell LVG can work with our current midfield, excluding Herrera. He will be working with Woodward from tomorrow when he arrives at Carrington I'd imagine.

Thanks, very interesting. Considering he spend half of his life in that club. Shocking a bit, like Guardiola leaving Barca.
"Difference in strategy" between him and the board. Juve wants to sell but Conte didn't want to sell their best players. And now he's resigned...
Let's hope that's correct then. Pogba to Real I think died down, can't see any takers so probably it's Vidal if it is what it is.

I said I was 75% confident about Vidal joining us last week. This morning I was 60%.

Now I've dropped to 25% feck.

Nothing any journalist is currently posting is remotely useful to this case. They've all been briefed identically. Could be true, could not be. Worthless.

Agree with you there. I think at our end its a brick wall, if anything is leaked it would be from Italy, especially now Conte has resigned.

That's the surprising thing for such a world class player, who is coming off the back an impressive world cup (despite being unfit). Why would Arsenal not try and sign him, seen as they are after a midfielder and they have just signed Sanchez.

It is notable that all reports from Chile (player's end) have been about a deal being close, as have those in Italy, and it's just the english press at our end that are hitting a brick wall. The only transfer they've seemed on top of for us has been Shaw, where they could get info from other domestic sources. We're a closed shop at the moment.

The fact that United's PR is telling the media that contact hasn't been made with Juve about Vidal, appears to me that the deal is done and they're waiting for the right time to announce it.

I am just gonna avoid drawing conclusions. Pits chaos out there. Haven't seen something this crazy in a long long time. Too much shit going on and I've never seen quite so contradictory journalist views.

The fact that United is telling the media adamantly that negotiations haven't been made about Vidal, appears to me that the deal is done and they're waiting for the right time to announce it.

I'm struggling to see the correlation but I pray you're right.

Gonna just go to sleep, and hope I wake up with good (or bad) news.

How do you come to this conclusion? Maybe they're telling the truth and contact hasn't been made?

I doubt Arsenal would bother go head-to-head with us. There's only 5 or 6 clubs that can really do that and expect to win.

Champions league football and his friend Sanchez playing for them. Still, my point is he would improve pretty much every midfield in the world, so it's weird that no one else would bid for him.

Maybe Juve don't want Conte leaving to be seen as being linked with Selling Vidal and have asked us to play down the reports ?

This Juve manager leaving may have been greeted with drool faces earlier but I reckon it could be a bad thing.
