Arturo Vidal

What's funny is that no one will ask Van Gaal about Vidal tomorrow because they'll be too scared of his reaction.

We'll be in the dark tomorrow again.
They won't ask about Vidal but they will ask about transfers, in which he will say something positive I believe.

I think we will just get 4th. We aren't as good as City Chelsea or arsenal at the minute and both London club have done better than us so far this summer.

I agree I think you will get 4th. I cant see you finishing above us City or Arse, but I can see you regaining control over a weakened Liverpool. Its not just the squads its also that the top 3 squads are quite settled and will have the same managers, whereas Uniteds wont and a lot of new faces are coming in and out. Vidal is an experienced player who would probably bed in quickly, I think Shaw and Herrera may take a bit longer to show their true quality. The main thing is you give time to LVG and dont start going into meltdown if its not quite as good as expected. I think expecting anything higher than 4th is heading into trouble.

I don't think it's a safe bet to say we will get 4th. I also don't think it's madness to say we will fight the title out. Nobody has a clue whether we will be back to the Fergie days, we will benefit from no CL, we will still be haunted by the Moyes days, who we will sign etc. Plus the league is so unpredictable, most would have had Liverpool's squad as a weak one last year and Chelsea's as the strongest but Liverpool finished above them.

Nah Nah not ours the strongest, we were woefully short up front compared to Citys throng.

They had Aguero, Negredo and Dzeko, we had Bungle George and Zippy!

Well, I've been stupidly busy at work today so haven't been able to join the disappointment, does anyone think that Juve just said that because they had to, or are we still ArturON?

A tenner he says:

"There's no value in the market at the moment, but we're working on one or two things.. I'm be happy with the squad the way it is now too.."
I can't believe you yourself put a smiley at the end of such a terribly unfunny post.

It's the forum equivalent to liking your own shitty Facebook status about how great your life is.

Yeah it seems that way now but most people last August were tipping Chelsea. I think it was the Jose factor, maybe as a Chelsea fan you knew it would take another season before you win it with the striker situation but still you were the favourites.

Relax. Did we really except a new manager in his first ever presser at the club to say that his best player is for sale?

I wouldn't expect them to admit he is going to be honest. He would be a great signing, but I wouldn't be disappointed if we didn't get him. I still think we need a different type of midfielder.

I can't believe you singled this post out... impossible to see how it can irritate somebody to the point that they have to reply and berate the poster

Still think we will sign em. They've just lost Conte and replaced him swiftly with someone the fans hate. Not a chance they were gonna say "yep he's off just like conte but were gonna get a nice wedge for em to help balance the books"

I give it another 2 weeks before he signs. He's had surgery not long ago and also taken part in the World Cup. He needs to be resting so we are in absolutely no rush to get this done right away. We've got a tour to do so he can meet up with the squad back in Manchester.

Patience peeps. We've finally sorted our shit out compared to last year.

Like? I am and will be fecking gutted if we don't manage to strike a deal for Vidal. He'd be a new United hero, without doubt

People putting a positive spin on this are equally jokers. Nothing is clear but there is absolutely nothing that suggests it is more positive than what it was yesterday.
When a club refuses to flat out say the player is going nowhere it usually means there's a price does it not?

The conference tomorrow with go a long way into finally deciding if we're interested or not.

When asked about Vidal I can either imagine a cocky grin and "United are alwashys looking at da worldsh best"

Or.....

A stern and quick "no" and a glance for the next question.

I deeper midfielder that can create and break things up. Ander is a box to box midfielder. So i'm not too fussed about Vidal.

I believe we do need at least a box to box midfielder who can put a tackle in... aka strootman/vidal.

Also can we have a list of players that went after the parent club said no?

I can name these off the top of my head:
Shaw
Herrera
Mata
Suarez
Ronaldo
Bale
Demba Ba
Sanchez
Pogba
Tories
Torres
Kagawa
Podolski
Lallana
Lambert
Moutinho
Martineau
Martinez
Hulk
Goetze
Lewandowski

Christ the list is endless, it's a nothing story, this happens every time.

I really don't see how this changes anything. Actually, you would have expected Juve to say he's not for sale at some point. This is just your standard negotiating procedure. Think things will be put to bed one way or the other when Vidal gets back from holiday on the 28th.

Hopefully tomorrow we'll find out more definitively one way or the other, via the press conference and whether Mitten still has faith in his sources.

Lou Macari is saying we're overloaded with midfielders so it doesn't make sense to sign Vidal.

They'll certainly ask about Vidal if the press conference is long enough and the press officers don't block questions.

I for one, am excited to see what a fully fit Anderson can do under Van Gaal's tutelage. Bite?

Robson also described Valencia as one of the best right sided midfielders around. I just hope our board doesn't think this way.

One thing I do not understand, why do Juve fans hate Allegri? I know nothing about him but I also seem to recall he was the Italy manager at this year's world cup? Or have I got the wrong person?
