I remember last season when Pepe Guardiola walked into his press conference and demanded that Bayern sign Thiago.

Hopefully he does the same tomorrow and demands Arturo Vidal!

Delighted with his appointment. So much positivity around the club now. He'll improve the young players we have, he can motivate those who have dipped in standards and has the character to continue getting the best out of our group. Moreover his achievements make him an intimidating opponent for opposition.

This time last season under Moyes I was hopeful of a successful tenure but the hope was as much to do with fear of failure. Moyes was a gamble that backfired spectacularly. With LVG I don't fear failure. I'm calm because he is a man who is prepared for this job. Moyes if anything was too complacent in his last years at Everton because he had a job for life and a top 8 finish was not a tough task. Yes I respect his continued achievements there but certainly that hard lined, intense Scot of his early years at Goodison was gone. He was pals with journos which is fine when at Everton or Villa or Stoke where you're not under the spotlight much but at Utd every word is scrutinized.

LVG will thrive in this environment. I'm gutted we aren't in the UCL this season because I am excited to see how he matches up in this level. His philosophy will reap the best out of our flair players more than under Moyes and even Fergie in his last years because instead of having to do a team role to succeed in a weakish team LVG gives more responsibility to attack and play your game. Plus our weakish areas are being strengthened.

While I do the Moyes So Far thread because of the back and forth assumptions and conclusions, I'm eagerly awaiting LVG's resurgence of United.

I was looking at that video....And apart from "Anderson arriving" one part stuck out more than most.

When the players were stretching and he was looking on with the rest of his staff, there is an air of authority, knowledge, and that demands respect. It makes Giggs look like a cone collector. And I don't mean that in any bad or offensive way towards Giggs at all.

Just, such was our dire circumstances last season, Giggs looked like a saviour and "the answer" for awhile. Now he does not.

Lawrence,James,Amos,Johnstone, Vermijl,Blackett,Janko,Keane x2, Petrucci, A.Pereira and Lingard I think can spot there from the non First team squad. Anyone else ?

I can't wait for the new season!

And to think David Moyes not getting sacked was a real possibility a few months back, it was touch and go, a lot on here thought he would be afforded another season. Imagine how different we would have felt now with him telling us this summer how we should expect even more bloody noses this coming season, and maybe even a broken rib. But he is sure we'll make Europa league.
Watching this makes such a start contrast to Moyes and his "hold the apron, piggy in the middle" drills

Does anyone know of a fully-functioning river that may or may not be a place to watch van Gaal's press conference tomorrow?

Notice Nicky Butt stood as far away from LVG as possible
