MUTV are crap. Just show repeats of bloody rubbish like Dennis Law playing golf or something...when something like this is on live they don't even acknowledge it.

It is pretty poor from MUTV to not broadcast it live, surely they'd have the access? I know its only available in Britain and Ireland, but some of us are still up.

Well technically it's available where I am too by certain means and it's only 9:30! No reason for MUTV not to be able to just show it twice. It's not like they have something more important to show anyways.

True, but it's legally streamed to Tv's all over the world.

A hotel in Florida I once stayed in had it in HD!

He hasn't said that once.

In his first conference he did.

“I think I can. But it is difficult because the greatness of this club is more than other clubs. And this club is guided in a commercial way and it is not always possible to meet commercial and football expectations,” he said.

"“I will do my utmost,” he said. “That’s the best that I can give. I cannot give predictions because you never know. It’s the biggest club in the world and within two days I know already how important Manchester United is, but also how important the sponsors are and I have to work and prepare a team and I have to adapt to this big club. It will not be easy"

Sounds like football and commercial are clashing

Thats twice already he said he hates how commercial our club is, we arent going to have a rough year with conflicting interests are we?

Calm yourself. He didn't say "hates" in either press conference, he has suggested that the tours be shorter and he is correct, these tours will have been booked a long time ago with Moyes in charge, Van Gaal and the club has to honour it. van Gaal has obviously put his case forward to them.

The best version of the press conference I've seen thus far comes from Ducker. Have some work to do for now. So if it's still needed when I come back, I'll post a summary of Ducker's piece

He is of course right. Chelsea for example are doing a two weeks camp in Austria (or Switzerland, not sure which) while we travel around in the US. I know which team will have a better pre-season.

Had a chance to watch Van Gaal in action during tonight's training. Very impressed by his enthusiasm and hands on coaching style. He was barking out instructions to each of the players as they took shots on goal, and high fiving various players. Very high energy session. Very impressive all around.

De Gea, Rooney, Mata, Herrera, and Nani all stood out.

Any particular youngsters which stood out?

Hope nani can have a good pretty season and stays clear of injuries. Even though there's not much left, I still have some hope he can rediscover his old form and become a top winger again. I've always thought the reason he's lost form is purely because of the injuries and if he stays clear of them and gets a chance, he'll perform.
Don't remember when the last time he had a good full pre season was either.

Probably Lingard. At least it looked like Lingard, there were several players who I'd never seen before which got a bit confusing from a distance.

Assuming he stays, I think there's a good chance he will be revitalized under Van Gaal. Probably not back to his seal dribble days, but definitely better than the last couple of years. He's a confidence player and LvG strikes me as the type of character who (much like Fergie) can squeeze every drop of talent out of his players.

Yep I really think Van Gaal can revive his career.

2 I think.
Well, I don't see how much shorter it can get, really. 1.5 week? 1 week? lol.

You're right. He really is a confidence player and it really seems LvG might be able to give him more confidence to play better. But I feel there's another factor as well. He isn't really up there in the football intelligence scores, so his decision making isn't really top notch. Having a clear cut system and instructions for him to work around would work wonders for him because he has less decisions to make and just needs to follow his instructions. It would really be interesting to see if he can grow in this environment and see if his talent can finally be put to good use.

When is the interview airing ?

That's good to hear. I have high hopes for him next season. He was the standout player on last seasons tour too.

Annoyingly it's not even on MUTV right now, they're just replaying the Woodward interview from the other day.

:(
