Think we can safely assume Louis was being dead honest when he said he wanted a month to assess his players and then decide on transfers. He is a true anti-muppet and too honest for his own good...
Would not be surprised if we see one or two promoted to the first team and maybe a cheap centerback for cover as our business this summer. Herrera, Shaw and de Vrij maybe.
WTF? is this? Surely bullshit?
Have no idea who the hell wrote this tweet, whether there's any truth to it and what it's doing in the cocking twitter thread instead of this one but anyway...
IF Woody is exposed as being full of hot air, yet again, it will be so refreshing to hear a manager call him out on his bullshit. Far rather that than Moyes toeing the party line about how we can sign all the best players only to end up with gaping holes in our squad when the season starts.

New Guardian article, Rooney on Van Gaal: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...emier-League-with-the-striker-as-captain.html
Sir Alex Ferguson will fly to Washington to meet Louis van Gaal for the first time since the Dutchman became Manchester United manager. The Scot is expected to watch the game against Internazionale before staying on with the club for the meeting with Real Madrid in Detroit a few days later.
While Ferguson and Van Gaal know each other from when they were rival managers during the 72-year-old’s supremely successful career, the Dutchman said last week he is yet to see the now club director since taking charge of United.
United, who defeated LA Galaxy at 7-0 in their opening tour game, are in Denver where they meet Roma in the opening group match of the International Champions Cup on Saturday at Sports Authority Field. Van Gaal’s squad then fly to Washington ahead of playing Internazionale on 30 July at Fedex Field before the trip to Detroit to face Real Madrid on 2 August.
There, Ferguson will be reunited with Real’s Cristiano Ronaldo, the World Player of the Year who the Scot helped develop when the Portuguese was at United under his management.
Don't think so, certainly hasn't been any talk of one.Is there another press conference tonight?
Don't think so, certainly hasn't been any talk of one.
Our games come pretty thick and fast now so I wouldn't expect many.
Just a reminder that Louis van Gaal will be holding a press conference at Sports Authority Field today head of the game against Roma tomorrow. We'll be there for that, and the opening training session, so make sure you check back in to see what the Dutchman has had to say.
Ah, well there you have it.From Rob Dawson (MEN) live blog.
Agree with that.Have no idea who the hell wrote this tweet, whether there's any truth to it and what it's doing in the cocking twitter thread instead of this one but anyway...

"This morning was not a good session. It was 11 v 11 but tonight the positional play was great. They made the pitch big when they had the ball and small when they didn't have it. I see progression every day but also not good things. We are there to improve that.
"You have to take into account the qualities of the opponent and give your team structure to do that so in training this morning we had a team playing like Roma and a team playing like United. We gave them structure."
He doesn't beat around the bush. Says it like it is.
It is why I believe him when he says that he won't make transfers for atleast a few weeks. There is no point muppetizing.
Also pretty interesting how seriously he takes even the preseason matches. Would we have prepared to such levels for a meaningless game under even Fergie?
Friendly games are not totally meaningless. It's preseason for a reason. And since when Sir Alex did not take games seriously? He would adjust the deployment of his players in terms of importance of games but to even doubt his preparation and training were less than serious is disrespectful of the manAlso pretty interesting how seriously he takes even the preseason matches. While I agree those are two positions he will be looking to invest in, I don't think a player playing 90mins is a sign of that. If a keeper plays 90mins, I doubt that's a sign of him looking for a new one. If one of the strikers had a full game, I wouldn't see it as a sign of him looking to buy a striker. It's interesting that he is giving Cleverley and Blackett 90 minutes. I'd say that's a sure fire sign that those are two positions he is looking at before he buys in. Left defense and central midfield.

What if a striker or a keeper was to play 90mins?Err... that's the point I'm making.
The strikers and keepers aren't getting 90 minutes and our CM and LB options are. It's clear he is using them for 90 minutes to assess what he has.
What if a striker or a keeper was to play 90mins?
I fully understand him using the match to assess certain players but if he wanted to get a good look at say, Will Keane, I doubt that suggests he is looking to sign a striker.
They are not this game, how about next game if it was to occur?Yes but they are not. That's the point whole point.

All these formations, I'm getting confused now.
Likewise, but I guess the key points are 3 at the back and 2 strikers. All these formations, I'm getting confused now.
Spanish, probably? What the hell were they doing before?![]()
