Christiansen in their reserves is on well over £1million P/Year.

Let that sink in.
Seriously? Players like our Nick Powell are on around 5 k per week! That's a hell of a difference! Someone tell Jose!

Mourinho is the biggest WUM in football (definitely better than the WUM's on here) and he has succeeded again, no doubt

Who cares if Mou playing mind games. That means in my book that he pay's attention to us again. Compare to last season.

he isnt exactly paying attention to Utd...he was asked a question about Shaw and answered it

Why are you all getting your knickers in a twist? Jose hasn't said anything particularly negative, just that he wasn't prepared to put Shaw on 120k a week (or whatever the figure is). he didn't say anything about us. I liked Van Gaal's response and I am sure this kind of overreaction in the media isn't go to phase either of Mourihno or Van Gaal.

I'm very satisfied. :)
He's a perfectionist and a winner and sometimes completely crazy. Exactly what we need after a shambles of a season last year.

He adds so much to the club it's impossible not to be excited. Before all the fashionable mangers came along he was an outstanding candidate. His influence on the club could shape us in good form for the next 20' years. He's got an ego which I partially agree with, but when you look at his history with Bayern and Barca in particular. I'm just thrilled.

We need a manager with an ego. We need a manager to kick them all in the arse and make them a good team again, make them believe in themselves and play like United players should.
I cant wait for a season to start really. :)

Younger players looks like maturing in exceeding speed under his guidance. He looks prepared even without given time to get to know his team better. It's a shock therapy not to see Vida, Rio or Evra again but it works as crazy as it sounds.

I would be happy to take a 0:0 result with Roma after energetic or at least tactically solid display but it's already 3:0 and game looks almost already dead at the half time. He's absolutely killing it.

Until the changes 2nd half I wonder whether we might've scored more but it's pre-season and you don't want to pick up injuries plus the conditions and fitness were being tested to the limit. It's difficult to say 2nd half who played well as the quality instantly dropped maybe Blackett, Smalling and Shaw played a little better. The rest seemed a very average hence the 2 goals.
Its a win though and loads of positives to take away for example team that played 1st half played very well, kept their composure and managed to overcome some good attacks and more importantly dealt with Roma's periods of possession very well.

After 2 games I guess I can fairly judge the style of play. United have been using one touch passing and moving a lot more than I've seen them do under Moyes. There's no standing around in the middle of the pitch, waiting for an opportunity to come up only to then pass it to a winger. I don't think United have perfected it yet as there's been quite a bit of sloppy passing at times, but with more training and guidance under Van Gaal I'm sure he can iron the issues out and get it working because so far it's looked a hell of a lot better than before.

I love the fact that he's a perfectionist. Saying that the performance wasn't good enough even though we won. It will only make them better and this is exactly the kick in the balls that they all needed after last year.

Yep, press conferences are interesting now. At least. With Moyes you almost felt there is no joy or excitement even in talking to the media.

The difference between how LVG and Moyes dealt with the media is absolutely huge.

None of this "we'll try...", "the lads played some great stuff" (even if they didn't) or playing it nice with the media - LVG speaks his mind and will say if everything isn't hunky dory.

I think we are in for a treat for the season ahead. A manager is part of the fabric of the club, and I believe he's going to bring the fear factor back to Old Trafford. Moyes was just too tame and well mannered to be a United manager. There was no ferocity, no authority from him and he never really put his stamp on the club. LVG has done that within two pre-season games already.

I wanted to see more of the slick passing against Roma, but Mata and Herrera looked out of it. Hopefully, this philosophy of intricate passing continues under Van Gaal. I loved the build up for the third goal and I hope to see more of that sort of football at United. I also enjoyed the pass made by Rooney to Mata, which shows everything does not have to be short and quick. I have been impressed with the change of football we have seen under Van Gaal. He plays towards the strength of our central players rather than our wingers. Which I am a supporter of :)
