Most of those conflicts you've listed are not of a religious nature and are not linked to one another. Invasions, revolutions, election protests and faction rivalries are standard across the globe, not just in the 'Muslim world'.

We are talking about Israel's actions here. A focused and prolonged attack on a smaller nation. If you want Israel to be judged alongside any religious fundamentalist with a home-made rocket then fine. Don't expect respect from the international community.

Israel might be good at building defences against ballistics missiles but they could do a bit of work on winning hearts and minds. In this media saturate age we live in, it's incredibly naive to be so reckless about how your actions are being perceived by the outside world.

This. In many ways they're fighting an old fashioned war in a very old fashioned way.
What's happening is turning into a slaughter. It's disgusting. I would like to see any Israeli try and defend the proportionality argument here.
Nor do I expect that.
We're Israel, we do what we want.
One rocket might slip our defense system, lets kill some civilians.
But they are winning, with no reprisals from the international community. So why should they do any different?

So far we've seen defenses including:
- Muslims have killed more anyway
- The world hates Jews anyway so we don't care
- Jesus told me to unconditionally support Israel

The people who lived in Palestine in 1918 were the direct descendants of people who lived there for centuries. They had a right to self-determination which was unfairly denied them.

Israel has kidnapped and indiscriminately imprisoned thousands of Palestinians. Its excuses for killing over a thousand Palestinians are both tenuous and indefensible.
There have been protests in Tel Aviv. "Thousands" attended according to what I've seen.

Part of me feels sorry for the Israeli soldiers too. They're not much older than kids themselves and it must go against every instinct as a human being to be instructed to act like such a cnut to a little boy who's not long out of nappies. They've no choice but to follow orders and protocols though. Even if they're blatantly inhumane. Yer man with the glasses in that video certainly looked deeply uncomfortable with his role in what was going on.
Incidents like that explain the existence of pressure groups like these guys.

Hebron really is a tragic place, settlers have moved in terrorising the Palestinians and are allowed to do so with absolute impunity since they're protected by IDF soldiers.
How anyone could defend this is beyond me.

Very poor effort that poster. Really bad taste. I wonder whose idea ity was. Anyway, trying to win hearts and minds in what is the most hostile European country is futile in the first place.
I for one can ensure Holyland Red that vast majority of the population of the Netherlands, no matter what race or religion, whether Jewish or Muslim for example, are in united in their condemnation of the current violence carried out by the Israeli forces. It is regarded as wholly disproportionate and inhumane.

We get plenty of respect from the international community. We don't get plenty from Ireland, I'll give you that, but very few here are bothered about that.
