I think he probably would have stuck a youth player in, but from what we know about Van Gaal I think he'd have left Pogba where he was and picked someone who was actually applying themselves.
Pogba didn't at all look ready for the first team and Ravel looked miles ahead of him in terms of being ready when both of them were getting a small amount of game time. I see everyone's been sold on his sob story about Rafael and Park but I don't buy it, it was widely reported he wanted a better wage, Juve offered him one before we did and voila he now plays for Juve, I'm not buying into his story, he was 19 and definitely not ready for the first team as a regular, despite some trying to claim he was and others seemed to think his few appearances he was actually good in when he was less than impressive.

I don't know if I would say Ravel looked more ready based on the small amount of game time. He didn't really stand out with his first team performances over Pogba.
I disagree, I might be confusing his hunger for ability but to me Ravel looked the more hungry and looked more eager to impress, neither of them looked brilliant when they played but both had their moments.

He would have if pogba was a strike/defender!
I doubt Chelsea or PSG can afford that with FFP rules, unless they win the CL this season maybe.

Fixed. You hardly actually think that him signing a new contract means he will stay at Juve for the next seasons? Suarez signed a new deal at Liverpool earlier this year and he is no longer at the club. This was just done so Juve get a fair price for him (he would have only 12 months left on his deal come the summer). I still expect him to leave next summer just as I expected him to sign a contract renewal. I was hoping Juve (being the scavengers they are in the transfer market) would get a taste of their own medicine and he would leave on a much reduced fee but now I expect them to get £40 million plus easily. Very naive of anyone to think that by signing this contract he has actually committed his long term future to the club.
The contract just sets the price for Real Madrid next summer.
He could easily stay one more year in Turin. Sure, if real really wants him, he´ll join them, but eventually they wait one more year. There are few clubs except Madrid, that can attract/afford him.

Personally, i think would be great. He is one of the best, or maybe the best, young centre midfielders around. You want those type of players if the chance arises.
Even Fergie would be on board for this one.
Now, if €70 million are needed to get him, i much rather we sign Vidal. We need a player like him way more than Pogba, plus might be cheaper.
If we can't get him or he is not 100% fit by january, then Strootman is also a better option to Pogba right now. He brings leadership and steel, plus he is fecking good. He has to be at his 100% as well.
Pogba should stay in Juve for 2 or 3 years, then come back to papa. for those €70 or €80 millions, if he is worth it by then.
I think some fans are still bitter that he left the club. He was right to do so and this has been proven by what's happened since. SAF dropped a bollock with Pogba and its him that deserves the stick for this one. Park and Rafael in midfield over Pogba?

The next club that gets Pogba should happily pay that price because he's so young that after 4 years of playing for your club he will start entering his prime which means he will still go for big money should he want to leave. The transfer fee means nothing if you take that into account.
We'll take Modric or Kroos from Real when the inevitable happens.

I don't want him back because first his price tag is probably going to be pretty ridiculous and sure, I'm pretty pissed off with the way he left yeah. This was Fergie we're were talking about, someone who perhaps made a bit of an error with him, but someone who encouraged youth so demonstratively there was no doubt he would have made the first team within the next season.

Would be my first choice ahead of Vidal or Strootman, just think of it as we loaned him to Juve for a few years and he came back as a world class player.
