Careful, he'll get offended. 99% sure he was a punk.
Bugger. Didn't see that.

are you a mod?
No. I''ve always been into punk.
That new wave punk where you are the establishment instead of being against it?
Wait, what?
Dalglish was the Teddy Sheringham of the 70's and 80's
In the late 90's, Liverpool actually had 2 managers running the club at the same time (Roy Evans & Gerard Houllier). Either Roy Evans was too thick to resign at the time or the club didn't have the balls to fire him outright.
"If we could combine Rafa's defending knowledge with Brendans attacking tactics we would win the league for many years"
This. This is just classic fcking liverpool fan overreaching, deluded shite! Everything is always so exaggerated with them it's hilarious e.g. henchoz and hyypia although a good defensive pairing were immediately the 'best in europe' according to liverpool fans. Gerrard Mascherano and Alonso, albeit a good midfield 3 were again immediately the 'best in europe'. And this knobhead fan, not content with his silly little hybrid theory of Rodgers and Benitez immediately suggests that it would not only win them A league but instead dominate for many years. This Liverpool fans. This is why you are a bunch of twats. Your pathetic attempts to elevate your faded club with this grandiose statements.
I thought the genius called Rafa alienated Alonso because he wanted Barry?!They were though during that season. Gerrard was probably the best midfielder in england, mascherano and alonso form earned the a move to barca and madrid respectively.

Golden you are doing Dalglish a major disservice he was better than Sheringham and Cantona. He was also a level up on Berkamp he was truly world class.

Debatable if he was better than Cantona/Bergkamp

Dalglish scored about 1 in 3 in an all conquering team. I'm not sure id describe him as world class. Bit overrated IMHO
I honestly think Dalglish was a better player than Pele. Pele is the most overrated sportsman in the history of sport. The one thing I think Pele should be remembered for is a new level of fitness/conditioning (much like Ronaldo), however in terms of skill and finishing I would say Marco Van Basten off the top of my head was a similar type of player but at a much higher level.
Pele was never even the best player in any Brazilian team he played in.
My mrs just said 'is that Freddie Mercury and Robert Redford
You'd think that but....
It's quite inspirational reading of that innate hunger he has.
they have one player who's top quality and after that largely a bunch of names
I'm all for having confidence and supporting my team - but reading your post I'm forced to ask the obvious questions. Before I go any further though I have to say I was not and still am not a Van Gaal enthusiast. Thinks far too highly of Aloysius Paulus Maria "Louis" van Gaal for my liking.
I'd have pushed the boat out for Jurgen Klopp - magnificent job done at Dortmund but it never happened and we are where we are.
I think as disappointed as I was with the manner of last season's shennanigins and some of the weird statements made by our former manager, you cannot ignore the fact that Fergie left Moyse some very real er - what should we call them - let's be poilte and call them "opportunities" eh?
Your claimsare based on what evidence? For me, a United old-timer of 64 years standing, this midfield is just about average - for a club of United's history, expectations and standing - and they are yet to gel with any kind of indication that they know they belong to a team. Successful teams are all built upon the combination of talent, good coaching, hard work and that unpredictable spark - the occasional piece of good fortune - Mark Robins FA Cup goal 1990 remember?
For the now I see evidence of some level of talent - Di Maria is clearly a decent player - but by Christ he's had some great slices of luck already this season don't you think? How good he might really be we'll have to see when the going gets tougher. I don't see him doing too much in the way of grafting in midfield though.
For me, Blind and Herrera have things to learn and things to prove yet. All 3 of the mentioned need to adjust to the pace of the EPL - so different from Spain and yes even different from the Netherlands - and they are in the process of learning still.
But is this midfield really as good as we've seen over many years at United? Where's the gaffer ? Where's today's Keano or Robbo? Where's today's warriors up front? Think we still have a long way to go and probably a lot more money needs to be spent - hate to say that being old school but over the last 4 or 5 seasons, we don't seem to have been bringing youngsters through other than to loan them out to other clubs. Blackett and Januszaj have figured a little but nothing earth-shaking.
I still rermain to be convinced by the coaching advice given to the squad. For me , given today's take-home packets, AT THE VERY LEAST, players should ALWAYS be giving their total commitment to hard work during preparation for match day - they call it training but I prefer it to be called LEARNING. If teams can get these first THREE elements broadly and consistently right, surprisingly, that elusive 4th little element - LUCK - more often than not appears to follow. Funny that eh?

I don't really know because I wasn't born but there is a lot of downplaying of Liverpool's players from the 70's and 80's considering how much they won domestically and in Europe.Dalglish would not be better than the top 10 players that played for us.

@Tyrion He's one of those United "mates" they all seem to have. Or suffers from Stockholm Syndrome.
In seriousness, I also found the little bits and details he puts in his posts a little bit queer.
johnowhite was quickly banned from our newbies couple of years ago.
He was hell bent on idea of United fans apologizing for something. It did had something with Suarez and Evra.
Theyve started on our game v Chelsea. Someone mentioned that we have a great attack while Liverpool are struggling at both ends of the pitch, which triggered this wonderful analysis of our squad:
Btw, what's the story with this johnowhite character?
He's a 'United fan' on Rawk with Shankley as his avatar. I love the little details he puts in to convince us he's a united fan - Robins goal and his 64 years being a supporter.
Wrt what he actually wrote, it's hilarious that a player who was MOTM in a CL final has to prove how good he is when "the going gets tougher". Forget 120 mins against La Liga champions on the biggest stage in Club football, it's a tough evening in the Britannia that will define him as a player.
In fairness, I'm curious to see how Di Maria handles the winter.
Yep - this thread is not happy.Tide is turning on Brendan.......
Wrong thread?Penalty!!!
We've been shit all season and are charging people hundreds of quid to see it, or 7 pound a month for delayed coverage
the can feck off if they can't take some stick for playing shite, spunking money and then charging the fans to witness it
