CL 14/15 Group Stage Matchday 4 - October 4th/5th

Well that's Liverpool 2014/15 season review DVD wrapped up, headline match "Our brave soldiers defend with dignity against Madrid"

I don't know what would happen to Arsenal without Alexis. You stop Alexis, rest all are total waste. Szczesny is horrible. Let's not talk about Wenger. How could any supporter tolerate such a coach is beyond my widest dreams. Even as a neutral, Wenger irritates me. I can only imagine how the actual supporters would feel like

Well done, Liverpool B. Thanks a flobbin' bunch, Real - you made us look like gonks and Brendan look like Napoleon.

I would like to see Mitrovic one day in PL but doubt his brain will let him.

I found this post way too funny amidst the Arsenal comments

Yeah, i thought i should keep the tone of the comments in the comedy genre

Liverpool lost and didn't create a single chance and yet, they did well? How's that? They aren't qualifying from the group.

Lowered expectations lol

Surely Arsenes time is up. I cant bear hearing about their results and watching their games and I'm not even a fan. Their football is awful and they just have no strength or mentality. How can you give up a 3-0 lead at home to Anderlecht?

To be fair guys is noone else finding this a bit hypocritical given that you could fit United and Citys names to replace these two and it would be a copy of after the game Sunday?

I actually backed under 1.5 goals in this game to win 350 quid... I can lay it off now for a fair bit of profit :wenger:

Wait what, you actually won a bet?

It's the usual false dawns for Arsenal. They beat Burnley the weekend, look odds on for another good win tonight and then absolutely implode. It's a perpetual cycle at this stage.

Unless they are willing to spend big I think they could suffer like us post Fergie. Not many managers about who could get them in to the top 4 every season on their resources.

As if.. I laid it off ages before in order to make some dead certain profit since it was obvious they would score at least one more.... as if I actually won a big bet like that....

I wish we'd signed Varane. The kid's ridiculously talented, very quick too. Moreno did well for Liverpool, hopefully Willian does a job on him at the weekend.

Impressed with Benzema again. Think his importance to Real is totally underestimated. His record in Europe is incredible too - only Messi and van Nistelrooy have reached the same number he has in fewer games, and they're two of the best finishers of all time.

Speaking of which, Raul's record - Messi plays Ajax and Apoel away before Ronaldo plays next. Will it go? Thought Ronaldo would be gunning for it tonight.

Not really, we were making a game of it until we had a man sent off. Even then we created chances and tested Hart.

Liverpool turned up purely to avoid humiliation - they had no intention of making a game of it. Pretty cowardly tactics from Brentan.

fecking amazing the praise they are getting. How the hell can these idiot pundits not see how poor madrid were in the final third and how wasteful they were. Their defense had sod all to do with that score line.

Liverpool winning the last two games is not a given by any means. They were lucky against Ludogorets at home, who gave Madrid a good game at their place and beat Basel there. Basel themselves beat Liverpool earlier and know how to get a result away vs. English teams.

City will win tomorrow, but Roma away and Bayern mean it's an uphill task for them too.

I'm not so fresh on my history, but didn't Napoleon actually conquer Europe, before he was defeated?

United-esque collapse from Arsenal today. Leicester and Anderlecht both got lucky breaks but that doesn't excuse why United/Arsenal collapsed the way they did.

Difference being Liverpool didn't really do anything going forward or even show an intent to. Was pretty much bus parked for 90 minutes to keep the score down, which they managed. We're encouraged because despite being down to 10 men, we still made 3 really good chances at the end that we could/should have scored from and had them defending. Not like we went there and parked the bus from the start, like Liverpool.
