So his agent says there are six clubs he could go to this summer and his transfer fee will be 80m+
(or at least that's what is in the papers / bbc gossip today)
Presumably his agent knows barca has a transfer ban so he must be on about
Real
Bayern
Psg
City
Chelsea
United

Now being realistic psg and city would probably struggle with that fee and ffp

I'm not convinced bayern would spend that much on one player.

Which leaves united, Chelsea and real

Again ffp could be an issue for Chelsea and I'm not convinced I could see us spending that on a player we let go before

So real are going to have a bloody awesome midfield next year with pogba, kroos and modric

Would he go to Madrid with all the competition for places there? Unlike most of the above teams we can offer him a guaranteed place in our midfield. Unless Real sell either Modric or Kroos, he will struggle for game time there.

His manager seems like he is talking poo,

Bayern Munich don't spend ludicrous amounts on players. They don't need to.

Manchester City have FFP constraints and would seriously jeopardise their UCL participation the same could be said for PSG.

When is the last time Chelsea spent recklessly, Mourinho and Chelsea don't need Pogba. Chelsea have been quite astute with their signings plus they are working within FFP.

Manchester United are not a stupid club, unless you are called Cristiano Ronaldo there is no way they'll spend that amount on Pogba what for Kmt.

Real Madrid hahahahahaha he wouldn't even get into their team. They have Isco, Modric, Kroos, Khedira, James Rodriguez, Illarremendi and new boy Silva where is Pogba going to play. Plus it's likely Real Madrid may incur a ban from signing players.

Pogba's agent is an idiot he's not even worth half the price Real Madrid paid for Ronaldo. He needs to sit his arse down.

Ya they are becoming a bit of a joke. Back with the original galactico era their signings made sense as they tended to go for players they actually needed. Now they are just going for whoever is the new big thing regardless of whether they need him or not. Only Ronaldo and Benzema out of their midfield and attack have been at the club for 3 years or more. The average life span of a player in those positions at Real is about 2-3 years no matter how talented you are. How can you build a team if you are constantly changing players?
Casillas, Ramos, Pepe & Marcelo from the top of my head outside those you mentioned.

I think that the best trope we have so that he goes to Madrid and they sell us Modric. I can't see him ending up anywhere else but Madrid, unfortunately.

I'd be happy in getting Modric out of it, to be fair, since we presumably wouldn't need to pay anywhere near the same price but would still have an excellent new midfielder.

Just not sure if you can judge players in the Italian league at the moment - particularly when they play for the team that is so much better than most. He obviously has loads of quality, but a world record fee for a player that has basically never played in a top league? Mental for me.

He could go to Spain or England and find the pace, energy and quality is just too much for him to be able to exert himself the way he does at Juve. Any club would be crazy to pay for him what others have paid for finished, proven articles like Bale and Ronaldo - who were both the best players in the EPL when their fees were met.

I'm watching Juventus against Milan right now and he's once again on a beast-mode. Absolute outstanding performance so far.

I clearly said out of their midfield and attack. The last time I checked Casillas, Ramos, Pepe and Marcelo aren't midfielders or attackers.
Marcelo is quite the attacker, and Ramos and Pepe are thugs who love to attack the opponents.
Casillas loves to attack managers he doesn't like through his media bird.

*** save.

He's the latest hot topic so Madrid will pay 80m for him and not think twice about how it fits together

There's absolutely not a hope in hell that he will ever play here again. That ship has sailed. He's Madrid bound 100%. Will use us as a way of getting a better contract at Madrid though

If I could have City sign any player realistically, it would be this guy. I definitely think we will go all out for him in the summer, the problem is I suspect Madrid will too, so it will just be an exercise in futility.

Who do you think you could sell to satisfy the FFP and still strengthen your other weak areas?

With your squad ageing as it is, you need to bring in 2 or 3 players this summer and 2 or 3 players next summer or you're going to be looking at a squad that is past its peak and in need of serious investment.

80m for Pogba? No, thanks. I would rather have Strootman
lol

Really, you'd rather have Strootman who by the summer will have barely played a handful of games for over a year, over one of the biggest talents in the world?

Edit: godammit...

There's no way City could afford Pogba if Madrid and ourselves go for him. They'd have to sell someone like Aguaro surely?

With the squad aging theyd be best placed using any potential Pogba money on 2/3 signings imo.

feck that, top player and a massive mistake to let him go but no way we should spend £80m on him. We could buy 2-3 quality players for that.

In the summer I expect Jovetic to leave. Demichelis contract is expiring, and Milner's, but I think both will end up extending their deals. Kolarov is another candidate who could leave, as is Dzeko. Nastasic and Sinclair are dead certs to be leaving, while Richards will be let go for free. There's a chance we'd let Yaya go, but that would only be if we had a deal for someone like Pogba in the pipeline.

Regards signing players, it depends on the success of the youth players who we will have to sign. For all the mocking we receive for it, I genuinely think in the upcoming seasons we will be integrating more youth players into the first team squad, with Lopes, Pozo and Rekik or Denayer the most likely candidates.

Nice Manchester names there.

I don't see much money being generated through those sales at all. Maybe enough to top up your kitty for Pogba but you need more than one player.

City still have spending power. Even with FFP restrictions we have splashed out on Bony, Mangala, Fernando and Caballero. We shouldn't have those restrictions in place I believe next season. Wages are the main issue anyway. We get Richards, Nastasic, Sinclair, Jovetic and a couple others off our books and that makes a huge difference. It's not simply a case of Pogba costs x amount so we need to sell enough players to equal x amount. As I've said though, it's a bit of a pointless debate as although I think we could afford him, we won't be able to compete with Madrid.

World record fee? lol, his agent needs a good slap, he's so annoying. Unless he wants to stay at Juventus forever then I'd bet they massively reduce that silly price tag.

I'd rather give 85millions to City for Aguero than pay that for a Central midfielder.

Real will sign him. There's no point for any other club to try.

Nailed on for real. Zidane will convince him further if he needed any convincing. Only chance would be if real gets a transfer ban.

They won it in 01/02 in Zidane's first season. You could argue that galactico era started with their capture of Figo. I do believe they really went crazy post 2002 though. Even if you go start with Figo signing, the record is not that impressive compared to likes of Barca, Bayern or even United's surge in last decade. I also remember them finishing out of a CL place once during that era and getting by because Spanish FA paid off the team that took their place.

Indeed, a feat of bribery only bettered by Chelsea in recent times when they had the FA pay off both Tottenham and Newcastle for that coveted final CL spot in 2012...

By the way, do away goals count? (damn you to hell, League Cup!)

Is it really splashing out, though? I've seen a few reports state that a lot of those purchases are in very streamlined instalments, to keep costs low and comply with FFP or whatever it is. If that is true, I'm not sure teams would want to deal in that way, especially for the big players who have interested from the other financial giants.

He is bound for City. They'd probably splash around 45m for him, but not more.
He is a natural replacement for Yaya.

Chelsea's stewardship under FFP so far could see them justify a big spending transfer. Lots of calculated exits and good returns to budget for a big move.

Real always have the ability to do it.

City will magic some mystery sponsor or dealing out of somewhere to justify it.

Then there is us. Would he even want to return?

45m wouldn't get him at all. I suspect it'd take Ronaldo-esque figures to take him back. Juventus are a huge club themselves and won't be bullied by the buying club. I just think due to Zidane and prestige of Madrid, it's gotta be them. He'd been perfect for Barcelona aswell.
