Need a City win tomorrow.
Pretty confident that City will win. Liverpool will be drained from that Europa League match. Draw would be a good result for them. Only way I think they win is if City don't show up, which is a possibility considering how they have gone this season.
No way are we beating City tomorrow.
Yeah, I think they'd just been promoted and Anelka came back to haunt Houllier.City haven't won there since 2002.
That's an exaggeration. If Liverpool are at their best then they can easily go toe-to-toe with an in-form City at home. Furthermore, if those players aren't playing well it may well be down to Liverpool making it difficult.Depends on which City shows up. If Aguero/Silva are on fire and Yaya is himself then no chance in hell
What part of they are only 2 points behind don't you understand? Why would you want our direct rival to win?I already posted to you my reasons in previous thread with similar subject, you decide to ignore them or just don't care, and that's fine. Just know that not everyone is like you.

It's funny how football analysis is often divorced from the reality of a match in that it's two teams doing things to stop the other team from winning. A poor performance it regularly down to an opponent's ability to stifle, press and destroy accordingly.
I'm as guilty as anyone for having a one-eyed view of a game. If my team loses it's due to their own poor display; if my rival team wins a game it's because the opposition were poor. You see it on RAWK about United and you see it here about Liverpool. It's being tribal, I guess.
I haven't seen any over-reaction, either here or anywhere else. Of course there are always going to be a few choking on their doughnuts but in general (in the threads on Liverpool forums that address this) the vast majority of people realise it's an American marketing executive who knows nothing of the club and thought he/she had a fun idea. They know better now but it's really storm in a teacup. Due respect has been given.DD were not trying to disrespect you guys. They were reworking the logo as a publicity stunt. An advertising campaign. Something light hearted. Do you think they even once thought about what those flames stood for? Unlikely.
This situation kinds of reminds me of how when one person describes another person by their skin colour, some idiot will start saying he's racist when he's clearly not. He's just trying to describe a person. It's like that kind of overreacting here.
Both Sakho and Henderson will have fitness tests before the game.Liverpool need Sakho for this. Any news on his return?
It's enough to beat most teams but that wasn't my main point. Opponents can avoid it being their day by setting up correctly. It's not simply down to the form of those individuals.Thats your opinion but to me an in form Aguero/Silva/Toure is enough to beat most teams in the world let alone Liverpool
One point against City would be great. I fully expect to lose though. Which is fine considering the way United are playing there is absolutely no way they should be making the top four.

To the 'Pool fans on here, how do you expect your team to line-up tomorrow?
I think City will go Hart, Sagna, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy, Toure, Fernandinho, Nasri, Silva, Milner, Aguero.
I have a feeling Pellegrini will go 4-2-3-1 and leave both Bony and Dzeko on the bench. If not I expect Bony to get the nod ahead of Milner. I'm cautiously confident City will at least avoid defeat tomorrow and it's the most expectant I've been going into a game at Anfield as long as I can remember, mainly due to the Besiktas game's impact. I'm going to go for a 2-2 draw. This is a huge game for both sides and ultimately I feel both may just be happy to leave with a point.

Yep agree with that and will be surprised if it is anything else. Studge was taken off because he was tired .. not for any knock, according to BR, so shouldn't be any issue there. If there is then Lallana comes in and Sterling goes up top.If fit:
Mignolet; Can, Skrtel, Sakho; Markovic, Henderson, Allen, Moreno; Coutinho, Sturridge, Sterling.
I agree with your prediction. I think it'll be a score draw.

Mignolet
Can---Skrtel---Sakho (if fit)
Markovic---Henderson---Allen---Moreno
Coutinho
Sterling-- Sturridge (if fit)
It's very hard to say as there are rumours Sturridge might not play after the knock he took on Thursday with fitness tests for Henderson and Sakho.
It seems logical that Markovic and Coutinho come in as they didn't feature in midweek.
Can could move to the middle as I thought Allen looked out on his feet the other night.
Early kick off means early start on the motorway for me.
Cheers.
Is Lucas fit? If so I'd have thought you'd be best of starting him and getting him to do a job on Silva. That midfield there looks to me like Silva could get the space he needs to influence the game.
One of Sturridge or Balotelli is nailed on to score. It's inevitable, two strikers up against their former team. I'd be delighted if Sturridge was not fit for this match though, obviously your biggest threat in the final third. Stifling Coutinho's creativity will be a task for Fernandinho too, and Sterling's impact really depends on which Clichy turns up.

Lucas is back on the pitch .. but in Brazil working with Gremio until he is fit enough to partake in training with Liverpool.
Sturridge is fit (according to BR he was taken off due to tiredness, not injury or a precaution, against Besiktas.
Why is he in Brazil? Seems odd that he would go there to recover.
Warmer climate maybe? It's not uncommon for players to do that when recovering from injury. Especially when it's a return to his homeland.
True. Seems like a lot of trust from the club though, even if it is a common practice. I wouldn't want my players recovering away from my own club doctors/physios.
Yup feck Liverpool, city win todayNeed a City win tomorrow.

Yup. 2nd is unrealistic. We need to consolidate 3rd.
A draw wouldn`t be a bad thing .5 points in 11 matchdays, nothing unrealistic about that. Chances are not on our side, but it can be done.
