He is a great human being, he is just different on the pitch...
i don't know how any poster can say this about any footballer.
He is a great human being, he is just different on the pitch...
This. Every time he does something that remotely looks like it's "not on", this thread gets swarmed by the steroid midget fans.
He's a bit of a big baby sometimes, I'll give you that, but judging by the comments in here you'd think he committed some kind of genocide.
Exactly... The steroid midget could kill a puppy and those people will be praising him for helping to save millions of people from rabies or something.This. Every time he does something that remotely looks like it's "not on", this thread gets swarmed by the steroid midget fans.

Indeed. I find body language "experts" that most amusing. He's a petulant baby, that's nothing new, but the multi angle analysis, video comparisons and body language discussion is all a bit mental, really.
Oi, keep him to the other thread!!you cannot have a post without bashing Messi, can you?
i don't know how any poster can say this about any footballer.
That any of them are "great human beings".Say what?
That any of them are "great human beings".
Isn't it obvious?Why?
Isn't it obvious?
Do I need to tell you why you don't know these footballers as human beings?
Of course you don't know any of them properly, personally or otherwise. You know of them and their media and on field image and behaviour. It takes me pretty long to be able to call someone I know a "great human being" forget some chap on the telly I watch kick a ball around once in awhile.Well, when a lot of people say something about someone, you assume it's true - I've never heard anyone bash Ronaldo as a person not even when he was in Manchester,I've watched a lot of his interviews - he seems like a loveable guy, highly competitive? Yes, great person ? From what I've seen...yes. Michael Jordan on the other hand was a prick on and off the court.
If your point is that I don't know them personally then perhaps.
So you just watch some people you don't really care about kick a ball once in a while, and it affects you emotionally when they somehow don't manage to kick that ball in the net?Of course you don't know any of them properly, personally or otherwise. Everyone thought Giggs was a fantastic chap as well. Heh.

You're just guessing really. Like I said, you don't actually know the guy.I think when you watch certain players for more than a decade, you can at least guess the type of person they are - not saying its definitely going to be correct, For an arrogant pr*ck there aren't a lot of people out there trying to assassinate his character as a human being which is quite strange because of the type of image the media (to a certain extent) portrays.
But yeah, outside looking in so i might be wrong.
I watch footballers and teams playing a game of football. I don't watch people and get to know them during 90 minutes of playing a sport. So you just watch some people you don't really care about kick a ball once in a while, and it affects you emotionally when they somehow don't manage to kick that ball in the net?
We're talking about footballers in case you didn't notice. An odd comment to be fair. For example, i am sure you haven't met some of the many great human beings but they are regarded as such through the media, articles, books etc. I am not referring to just footballers.
You're just guessing really. Like I said, you don't actually know the guy.
Have you been stalking him? KiddingMore than a decade of watching an individual through various channels and testimony from other people, i don't think my 'guess' is far from the truth, I'm sure you have your list of 'good' guys and 'bad' guys in Entertainment,Sports,Politics etc. So does everyone else.
Have you been stalking him? Kidding
Yes of course, some celebrities come across as well behaved and nicer chaps others. But it's all very superficial because, as I stress, we dont actually know these people. It's like me calling noodles from redcafe a "great human being". He's a funny chap who is pleasant, but it's hardly like I meet him every week for drinks and know him properly.
We're talking about footballers in case you didn't notice.
The most you read about them is "he's a great guy. He works really hard." I'm sorry but I can't take any of that seriously. Giggs seemed like a great guy but turned out to be quite the opposite. Like I said, it's silly to judge human beings you know so little about.
Of course you don't know any of them properly, personally or otherwise. You know of them and their media and on field image and behaviour.
I've been here for 13 years so I might just have. But then again I'm not calling him a great human being. You haven't been watching noodle for a decade have you? how many people have been critical of Ronaldo as a human being? if watching him for a decade isn't enough for you then perhaps testimonies from his coaches, teammates, rivals etc should also back it up, or is there an agenda to make Ronaldo look like a good person at all costs?
Of course, but we're talking about footballers not activists here giving their life for a cause, it has to be said.I was making a comparison to non-footballers because of your post later on. We couldn't possibly know many of the great people in this world personally but granted we can take the opinion of many respected individuals.
P.S - I have no idea if Ronaldo is a 'great guy' or not. But there are some footballers you could make a very good case of being good human beings with their involvement in charity work and their contributions to their nation etc.
I've been here for 13 years so I might just have. But then again I'm not calling him a great human being.
I think maybe you mean nice chap when you say great human being. I can barely call a handful of people I know that let alone some footballer.
For the record, I wouldn't call Scholes, Xavi or Messi that either despite them generally behaving better on the football pitch. You don't have to have bad stories written about you to be a prick. See Ryan Giggs for most of his career.
Btw, there was white text in the last post in case I offended you!
1. "Ronaldo was approached by the parents of a 10-month-old boy who needs a brain operation. In a letter they asked the Portugal international to donate a football shirt and boots to a charity auction to raise funds for surgery.
Instead, and because he was so touched by the plight of the family of Erik Ortiz Cruz, Ronaldo offered to pay for the entire operation costing £50,000 and a series of further treatments at £5,000 each. It's a drop in the ocean for the player who reportedly earns £580,000 a week and it's easy to be cynical about his gesture yet this is the latest in a series of generous offers from the star.
Two years ago he met a nineyear-old boy from Las Palmas in Gran Canaria. Nuhazet Guillen, a fanatical Real fan who was suffering from cancer of the spine, had been invited to watch a game in Madrid and meet some of the players. The visit lifted the youngster's spirits and he was thrilled when his hero dedicated a goal to him. Photographs showed Nuhazet beaming from ear to ear as Ronaldo crouched down by the boy's wheelchair.
Afterwards his parents explained that their son's only chance was a new treatment, only available privately, which they could not possibly afford. A few days later they were overwhelmed when Ronaldo's agent called to offer to fund the experimental drugs. Sadly the little boy lost his battle against the disease last year."
2."Real Madrid iconic forward Cristiano Ronaldo has donated €1.5 million to Palestinian children in Gaza, the Arabic version of the club’s Classico network reports. The star forward gave his Golden Boot which he earned in 2011 to the Real Madrid foundation. The Spanish giants in their turn sold it at auction and will now donate the funds to schools in Gaza. Cristiano Ronaldo or the Real Madrid Foundation have not commented on the news so far.
According to various reports, the Real Madrid Foundation has helped to build 167 schools in 66 countries.
It’s not the first time Ronaldo has given to charity. Last year he sold most of his sports shoes at a Real Madrid Foundation auction which was also dedicated to raising funds for schools in Gaza."
3. Portugal and Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has revealed why he doesn’t have tattoos like so many of his famous colleagues. But while other football superstars like David Beckham have a tattoo or two, Ronaldo skips the ink so that he can continue to donate blood.
“I don’t have tattoos because I donate blood very often,” he said, according to Diretta News.
He reportedly gives blood twice a year and in many countries a new tattoo can affect how often a person is allowed to donate blood, with a waiting period between six months and a year employed as a precaution against cross-contamination and diseases.
Additionally, he told Spanish radio station Cadena Cope that he became a bone marrow donor after witnessing a teammate’s struggles.
“It was the time when Carlos (Martins) was with us on the national team,” he added.
“He told us about the problem with his son and we, the players, showed great unity to help him and his son because we knew it was a very complicated situation.
“(Donating bone marrow) is something a lot of people think is a difficult thing to do but it's nothing more than drawing blood and doesn't hurt. It doesn't cost anything. It's a simple process and then you feel happy because you know you are helping another person.”
Ronaldo is known for his efforts to help children to overcome diseases but does most of his charity work silently."
I don't think @dxadel should be criticised for what he said and I think I would agree with him. If you want to just call all the charity stuff he does PR work then you are just being very cynical and unfair in my opinion.
Also if I read that noodlehair from red cafe went out doing all this charity work and donating bone marrow etc I would say he sounds like a good person. I wouldn't say he's trying to gain PR for redcafe![]()
He helped end a civil war in the ivory coast didn't he? Pretty remarkableTo be fair, Amol - there are many footballers we CAN call great people. Drogba for one. The guy is a one man army in helping the Ivory Coast.
The only reason why you, me and noodle hair can't do that charity work is because we arent frickin billionaires.I don't think @dxadel should be criticised for what he said and I think I would agree with him. I'm sure I can dig out similar articles on Giggs yet he was shagging his brother's wife for years.
What if a player donates a decent bit given he has a lot but hurts close people around him by being a complete cnut? You seem a very cynical person. There are plenty of very rich people who don't do anything at all.
That is remarkable. He helped end a civil war in the ivory coast didn't he? Pretty remarkable

Well there's cynical and then there's gullible/presumptive.The fact that you think about that rather than the positive is why I called you cynical. This just reinforces it.
